The UK doesn't have G they have U. Here in the US we have 3 main rating systems movies have: G, PG, PG-13, R, and NC-17 game and apps have E, E10, T, M, and Ao TV shows have Y, G, Y7, PG, 14, and MA. And a bunch of unofficial ones as well.
@@queenielouweekly3160 my thoughts exactly like PG-13 in the US. Just call it 13. For US TV that is what they did because we have TV-14(Which is basically the same thing.) I noticed the rating systems in the US UK and Australia are similar. The UK also has another one called PEGI so if we look at them together we see: Aus UK US N/A N/A Y G U/3 G/E N/A 7 Y7 PG PG PG/E10+ M 12 PG-13/14/T MA15+15/16 R/MA/M R18 + 18 NC-17/AO X18 + R18 N/A
Great video. I am from Ireland which have slightly different film ratings. G=General suitable for everyone, PG=Parental Guidance which is suitable for general viewing but due to some scenes that may be unsuitable for young children which means that parental guidance is recommended for children under the age of 12, 12= suitable for people 12 years old and over only, 15= suitable for people 15 years old and over only and 18= suitable for adults aged 18 years old and over only. Examples G= The Little Mermaid (1989), Pocahontas (1995) and Ballerina (2016) PG= The Simpsons Movie (2007), Home Alone (1990) and Mamma Mia the Movie (2008) 12= The Fault in our Stars (2014), The Vow (2012) and Wild Child (2008) 15= 500 Days of Summer (2009), Love Actually (2003) and Billy Elliot (2000) 18= Black Swan (2010), Red Sparrow (2018) and Sausage Party (2016)
Movies like 'Black Swan' and 'Sausage Party' are rated a bit lower in Australia at MA15+ restricted. I wonder if they release slightly different edits for different regions so that they fit better in their respective classification ratings system.
Something similar happened in the US Interspecies Reviewers was MA-15+ in Australia originally but only the censored version uncensored was banned here in the US the censored version was TV-MA but uncensored it was not rated (suggested 18 and up). Which is the rating commonly used for "p word"
Funny How G Is The Only Rating Where It’s Not The Same Age With Another Classification But Only If You Add X18+ PG, M & MA15+ (Technically Add AV15+ But It’s A Removed Rating) Are All Rated 15 And R18+ & X18+ Are Both Rated 18
nope i guess you were wrong dad g for all audiences pg means for 7 years and older no one under 7 years admitted m means that is the same thing as pg.13 which is 8 to 10 years 10 to 12 years 12 years to 14 years and over .ma stands for 15 years and older or 16 years which is not suitable under the age of 15 or 16 years r and x means that is for adults only
Yeah but g means gernal and pg means that it is for 6 years and over m ratings 8 years and over also if your under 8 you have to watch with a parent it is for mature and audionce and ma 14 years and over which is for mature accmoped and r and x 18 years and over pg 13 is the same thing as m
Good video but you seem annoyed for a unknown reason I mean I’ve played ma 15 and r 18 and r 18 is bad but ma 15 isn’t that bad just my opinion overall good
Yeah there is but I'm pretty sure the Australian government doesn't really use that rating anymore for movies as you can't really get physical DVD versions of movies that have material such as pornagraphy anymore because of the accessibility of the internet. So I'm just pretty sure they put any highly graphic movie under the R-18 rating instead
@@Bologni6 well funny you should mention that. Here in the US we have something similar but's not really the same because it's not even a rating just a waring screen that looks something like this ua-cam.com/video/C97L3pR5H5k/v-deo.html. Now what's interesting is Interspecies Reviewers had something kind of like this on the American blu-ray release(despite only being borderline p***) and in Australia was outright banned, wonder if it's because they didn't know what rating to give it?
@@cradica possibly, but I for one obviously don't know completely how my governments' rating system works, it's weird a lot of the time but I don't know. Also I appreciate you showing me that as it's interesting to see how America handles movies with material like that
@@Bologni6 well the censored version of the show used to be rated MA-15+ or MA-17+ in the US and Australia. That is until the streaming sites that had the show just gave up on it! Now in Germany even the uncensored version was rated 16 (with the 3rd episode being 18). So it does make me wonder. If it's rated 18 in Germany and had a 18+ warning screen in the US are the not rated the same? Because I think 18 in Germany is equivalent to R-18+ in Australia and that 18+ warning would be equivalent to X-18+ if it was a real rating. Honestly, I'm having trouble finding some of the equivalents.
I'm from Australia, and I personally prefer the UK system; G, PG, 12, 15, 18. It's simpler and more streamlined than the Australian system.

@@queenielouweekly3160 What do you mean "clunky"? Also what do you think of the US rating system(s)?
@@cradica The MA part of the MA15+ rating is unnecessary, I would just make it 15/15+, it conveys the same idea, and R18+, I would make it 18/18+.
