This is absolutely fascinating to see the detail and true scale of this wonderful yacht steeped in Hollywood history. I think its current keeper and Natalie Wood fan, Ron Nelson has done a terrific job in maintaining her and keeping everything still in all its original condition. The irony to Ron's diligent attention to detail and care of Splendour is that there could be just one clue that might answer a thousand questions of what really happened that fateful night.

Even before this happened Wagner seemed like a sociopath to me, something always seemed not quite right about him, it always seemed like his entire personality was an act, either he was responsible for her death by directly causing it or by indirectly causing it by not helping her, I think at some point he walked away knowing she would drown, he insisted on waiting for her to be reported missing, he knew, I think he was waiting it out to make sure she was gone, making sure she could not talk and tell anyone what he had done, I think he physically abused her before she went in the water, the boat captain said he heard a couple of thumps on the boat after he heard them arguing.
I agree. But I think if Wagner had not been drunk as a skunk on this night, he might have gone to check on Natalie, or prevent anything bad from happening to her, but he WAS very drunk - reliable source say he had been drinking heavily all day, on into the late night, so he was not thinking clearly, and Walken was either afraid for his own life, or was just an unfeeling coward, retreating to his room, where surely he had to have known Natalie was in some danger. The Captain, same thing. I think they both feared for their own lives because Wagner that night was a drunk unpredictable beast. Of course Wagner "waited" for hours before calling the police - and called his LAWYER before anyone else - because he knew he had done something bad, and that Natalie would either surface as seriously injured, or that she had died, and he wanted to cover his ass. No doubt! If anyone talks anymore, it will be the Captain, Devon, whose stories changed with every interview! Wagner has money, net worth $20mn now! Right, I agree. Dennis more then likely lied when he said he turned the music up so his boss would not think he was listening. Do you really think at that time of the morning that your going to turn your music up on your bosses boat and annoy him with it at that time they were supposedly going to bed. They both probably came up with the story as to what he heard in actual words he would have heard long before going to their door to see if everything was okay. He should have been questioned about that. Why would you purposely turn a blind eye/ear to beatings. He should have called the police, but no no it is his boss and he would lose his job. He would have heard her being thrown around the room with all the bruises she had 25 or something like that. Of course a few could have come from when he probably pushed her and might have banged herself up some. But water would not bruise you unless she hit something on the way down if he pushed her over the door to the grate below.
its a floating closet......of course everyone on board was aware of each other.all three men still living should be under investigation for suspicion of murder.
Eerie the wind picks up and just as he is about to show the kitchen the book page starts to flip to the picture thats her spirit showing off her kitchen proudly. Boat haunted.
No, there's the bow (forward),stern (aft/or "back"),then looking forward left would be port & right would be starboard. He said stern, port side , that would be aft/or back & left side corner. WHAT????
its a small goddamn boat, how come robert lost her that quickly after an argument when he checked the back of the boat where the dingy was probably hanging
This makes it very easy to understand how Natalie could’ve fallen into the water without being seen now. Everyone that hurls abuse and Hate at Mr Wagner should see this so they can understand .
I have no ill will to wagner. But this proves what? She died at around midnight. He never even called it in until 1:30 am. The yacht isn’t so big that it took an hour and a half to search. Not to mention. The dinghy. If it were tied to the swim step. And then wasn’t. It should have been called in immediately. None of us were their. Only Robert God and Natalie at the time know what happened. But it’s definitely plausible he had something to do with it. According to the autopsy. She had quite a few bruises. 🤷♀️
I had the opposite reaction. Absolutely impossible to fall off and she would not have gone through that gate onto the dive step at night. RJW is a malignant narcissist.
LA Coroner wrote book explaining her drowning was due to a down vest she was wearing that became to heavy for her small frame to fight as it filled with water.
I read somewhere where Natalie Wood would never go anywhere without makeup on.If she had to she would wear sunglasses. Why would she leave in the dark on the dingy alone in her night clothes.Really just think about it.Makes me think maybe in anger she was pushed and over she went.I hope that wasn't the way I feel but I do.I like Robert Wagner but he is only human and even he could have done something so stupid. RIP Dear Natalie.
June bug Have you ever been so drunk you do something really stupid? You think you are stronger than you really are or I can do it, no problem kind of attitude. Fears seem to vanish when you drink. I think there was a terrible fight, she went to her room and went out the back and no one heard it. A simple accident. If it was more than that, only God will ever know or perhaps a deathbed confession.
Since I’ve learned more details about Natalie’s last night, I do not care to even see photos of Robert Wagner. Prior to learning what truly happened, I had sympathy for what I thought to be his loss - but no longer. Now I feel sorry for her girls, her sister and, of course, Natalie. She was so sweet and loved by those who knew her. I pray you are resting in peace now, Natalie.
J Day That’s not what happened! And according to another couple on a nearby boat they woke up to a woman screaming somebody help me, I’m drowning” Then they heard a male voice, saying in an agitated tone “ oh hold on, we’re coming to get you or don’t worry we’re coming to get you”. That confirms Natalie was not alone at the back of the boat and that male voice had to be Wagner’s! The captain was at the front with the music playing and Walken was in his room. And Wagner was the only one so pissed at her! The woman on the other boat gave her story to the LA Times only days later and shortly after she received a death threat. “if you value your life, stay quiet about what you know.” You should read up on the story before posting
Robert Wagner said in an interview that she was most likely just trying to unlatch the dingy because it was banging up against the boat. She wasn’t leaving.
For those of us who love Natalie Wood, this is extremely hard to watch. Does anyone know if this is the same Ron Nelson who was a close friend of Susan Hayward, when Susie lived in Ft. Lauderdale? That Ron was an avid fisherman, and would take Susie out on his boat all the time. It would be ironic if this is the same guy.
I always pictured it as being larger. I would've gotten sea sick on that tiny boat. The story is she went to sleep and was awoken by a bottle rattling back and forth in the dingy. She went out to stop the noise and fell over.
I almost drowned years ago and keep away from water, I tried to learn to swim by a close friend but too much fear,, Natalie Wood had a similar experience on a movie set and had the same fear of "Dark water" Wagner and walken need serious questioning about what happened before they go to the grave.
Because Walken and Wagner were having an affair - i'd say that Walken was more than happy to get rid of Natalie. It was the perfect place -on a boat in the dark and they knew she couldn't swim. IMOO
I see the corner of the boat is damaged outside the door when he stepped down. It couldn't have been damaged back in their day, they could afford to fix it.
I agree, a lot of people who are posting here insulting the boat have no knowledge of yachts. My family owned a 50ft yacht with 2 staterooms/bathrooms and it was as nice as this just a little smaller and more modern. They just sold it for $400k, so none of these fools could afford one, much less the $1200 a month slip fee! I think people are imagining yachts like the ones mega billionaires have. Also this boat is quite old and luxurious back in its day.
Who is your camara person, you walk into a room and tell us,'this is etc room, and the camara person just don't really show us the room, ugh.you say this is the crew's quarter's,and the camara stay's right on you.you better do it all over if we are goin to see that boat,'' Really..
I've lived in Los Angeles most of my life and their public arguments were well talked about. The only thing that might have pushed the rumored bi-sexual Wagner over the edge to hurt her is if she used the "F-word" as in "gay" to emasculate his ego in order to gain the upper hand. In a drunken rage it could have triggered him big time.
Whatever happens in a closed place leave emotional residues behind and if a person is sensitive enough he can read it like reading a book in the form of emotions. And as I watched this video I picked up disturbing emotional residue from 5:17 to 5:20 from the bunk bed below. It was of a woman struggling to breath.
I'd say the alcohol added to the violence. Wagner was a hot headed jealous control freak with his loves anyway. He obviously didn't think twice to beating her ever. The booze just made him not think 3x either.
Yes, the alcohol, coupled with the fact that Natalie walked in on Wagner and Walken having sex that dreadful night. (They thought she had retired in her state room) Natalie went into hysterics, and threatened to blow the whistle on Wagner and Walken, destroying their careers. Wagner silenced her for good, by throwing her overboard. The only jealousy, was that Wagner wanted Walken all to himself that night. I hope the truth will prevail, and I pray these ugly liars are exposed for who they really are! Natalie deserves peace.
Its nice boat looks cozy but yeh its small. Interesting how wind comes up at moment of him explaining the kitchen part of it and tries to flip the book thats natalie.
Yep it looks very cramped, like it is only good for two people by the time you bring all your clothing and food on board and games, books, etc. No room for 3 comfortably. I'd use one room alone just for clothing, games, blankets etc.
NO the police did. The police didn't even question him at all. He was so scared he be arrested for beating her and accused of pushing her over as he said to Dennis "no leave here there to teach her a lesson" so he probably pushed her.
The death of Natalie was an homicide by Wagner ,,no other option,, he was jalious cause she was having to much fun with her friend,, he got mad broke a bottle of wine on the table ( that's how mad he was ) followed her on the deck and killed her and put her in the dingki ,,afterwards when the Captain wanted to use the search light cause he could not find her, , Wagner said NO ,,when the Captain said we should call the restaurant , Wagner said NO ! Do you need any more Proof ?????? Wagner was making sure that he could hide the killing . And lied for the rest of his life
They probably had illegal drugs on the boat, for consumption, and could not afford to get boarded by Coast Guard? Even being seen as drunk as they were, might deter from calling for help, especially if you weren't sure you needed help. I do struggle with breaking wine bottles.. that is some seriously heavy glass, and would certainly change the mood for all involved.
The case was highlighted on Dr. Phil just recently. One fact that the press twisted was that the man who handled the boat was the "captain". On Dr. Phil the man, Dennis Davern, maintains very specifically that he was not the captain, RJ was the captain, Dennis was only a deckhand. When RJ announced that Natalie was missing, Dennis searched the boat for her. The boat was to small for her to be missing on it. RJ demanded that Dennis do nothing. Dennis told Dr. Phil that at that point, he began to fear for his own safety because he did not know what had happened to Natalie or whether he might be next. Christopher Walken was asleep in his suite when Natalie went over. But, he was in the salon with them when RJ started the arguement concerning the affair. Christopher has since declared that he feels Robert murdered Natalie. Lana mentioned that Natalie 1st left RJ years ago because she caught him in a homosexual affair with their butler and that night on the boat, she caught him making advances towards Walken. Walken and Natalie had just finished their parts in the movie "Brainstorm" and were taking a break. RJ accused Walken and Natalie of having an affair. Maybe RJ was jealous that Christopher was straight.
The boat is totally creepy and being inside those hideous rooms would be claustrophobic. There is no way I would ever sleep in one of those nasty creepy rooms.
Interesting video but I smile when people refer to this vessel as a... 'yacht'. This is a fishing boat, not a... yacht. If you want to see a real yacht search for the yacht 'Tis'. That's a yacht. The Wagners lived an illusion believing they lived in a... yacht ! :o)
What the FORENSIC INVESTIGATOR report said? about her death..no investigation at all...everyone place there own fantasy is ridiculous... Let's find out the truth who or what really kill her?? even call a MEDIUM..detective...but all this stupid comments....all this may be..
Whoever the cameraman was, he did a lousy job of actually showing us the interiors of each "room" on the boat. He should have stood in each room's doorway and panned the rooms.
Is it just me or does the owner of the boat seem like a big dink?? It's easy to see that he knows little about boats and the way he presents himself seems insincere and quite creepy. My gut feeling is that he is not being straight forward with the history of the boat and most likely he is exploiting it for fame and perhaps an income. If the case is still open, shouldn't it be in the hands of the California sheriffs department?
No they didn't check it then, it would do no good to now. It has been touched by way too many people. Wagner would have made sure he cleaned up everything and every print he had to. He needed those few hours before calling for help to clean up and think of what to say. Turns out he didn't need to make up a story at all. The police were not interested in even questioning if it was an accident or not. They believed the two liars.
I guess sometimes life does imitate art.I'm picturing this whole scene playing out in a Barnaby Jones episode.Wagner will have to answer to what happened that night,he's not home free just yet!
I just finished reading Lana Wood’s book “Sisters”. Lana Wood gives an interesting account of Natalie Wood’s last 24 hours on earth. Lana also shares her theory of how Robert Wagner murdered her sister Natalie. It’s a very interesting, well written book.
FFS, this is SMALL! (Why the hell was Christopher Walken on this boat? Where was his wife? Why wasn't he just hanging at home with his wife and cats???)
I imagined a proper grand yacht - and it turned out to be some small oversized pathetic boat. How could anyone NOT notice what happened to Natalie Wood?
She was said to be terrified of water. That drop off that platform to the water is steep..NO WAY no matter how drunk, if she was drunk, being terrified of water would she have walked out anywhere near that platform. I think like most people do about this. Wagner , more than likely
I find it very telling that Natalie woods state room has a door that literally goes out to the deck of the boat !!!!! Literally a few feet to the water !!!! And like the guy said the walls are very thin. You would be able to hear a baby cry. Whatever happened that night Natalie wood drowned was no accident!!! Simple as that!
This is why he keeps bringing up natalies death so he can sell tours. My opinion is he did it there is a picture of him looking at her mooning over her.
@@ImanuelCunt And what makes you think he died? Apparently he had a couple of weird experiences on the Splendor. He said he was sitting on one of the beds and something sat down next to him then got up off the bed. He said he fell or tripped on something that wasnt there? Possibly it was Natalies ghost haunting the boat. I dont think her spirit is resting due to the fact she was murdered.
Since He changed things this BOAT cannot be worth more he. The person he bought it from should not have TOUCHED it. Redoing the Floors is one thing but changing things and moving tables causes the boats value to go down. If they had not touched anything this boat may be worth a lot more.
Hmmm. Not a fan of the yacht. I know it was so many years ago. But it’s kind of blasé to me. Now. To the meat. If Christopher went to his state room when Natalie left to go to hers after her argument with Robert. How in the world could Christopher give an accurate account? He wouldn’t have witnessed anything. Same with the captain. Although the captain may have had a better look from his position in the wheel house. I think only Robert and God truly knows what happened that night.
Amazing to imagine Natalie at that sink making food, in happy times.!! I Imagine nobody heard her screaming for help because she wasn't. Maybe wagner hit her in their argument. She might have gone to get on the dinghy to escape. Could have first slipped and fell, unconscious. Wagner put her into the dinghy and pushed it away. That's why he didn't want the search light put on. She came to and fell out of dinghy and it was too hard to climb back in. She had floated too far away to be heard. What a terrible waste of her life, the great Natalie Wood.!!
I just watched the Natalie Woods documentary on HBO it should have been called Daddy Wagner it. Was so phony . One of the daughters was doing the interview of daddy Wagner it was one of the. phoniest things I have ever seen
I am a HUGE Natalie fan and I have watched numerous docs and read every book I can find about her and have watched just about every movie she was in. I am convinced, as is Lana, that Wagner did something wrong. Not sure what but the fact that he didn't call for help for about 2 hours and that he completely shut off contact with Lana, in addition to other things, makes me believe he is guilty. If so, I hope he rots in hell.

But water would not bruise you unless she hit something on the way down if he pushed her over the door to the grate below.
@@johnrogers9481 - She was an actress. 99% of the time there is zero resemblance to their real lives.
its a floating closet......of course everyone on board was aware of each other.all three men still living should be under investigation for suspicion of murder.
The person filming this could have done a better JOB of filming we didn't get to see The Rooms all of the views.
This boat need to be in a museum so the sea doesn’t destroy it.... I bet lots of people would love to see it...miss Natalie
To late
Why did the boat end up being scraped
Eerie the wind picks up and just as he is about to show the kitchen the book page starts to flip to the picture thats her spirit showing off her kitchen proudly. Boat haunted.
Little bit of damage on the very corner of the port stern. Looks like a fiberglass crack and a long dent running from the crack across the stern.
shawn Oneil port and stern are two different areas opposite ends of the ship
No, there's the bow (forward),stern (aft/or "back"),then looking forward left would be port & right would be starboard. He said stern, port side , that would be aft/or back & left side corner. WHAT????
" These are original. I mean I replaced it to look like the original"
So we have an original reproduction of the original. Gotcha
Lol !
Lol!!
its a small goddamn boat, how come robert lost her that quickly after an argument when he checked the back of the boat where the dingy was probably hanging
He knew where she was.
“...everything’s the same except dah dah dah dah dah...” 😂
Karen Agree!
Creepy boat all right with Natalie's pics everywhere.
AGREE
If she’s so afraid of water why did she go on a boat?
How did Wagner not hear her scream? A couple on another boat heard a woman calling for help. Strange.
Thank you for providing a clip of where Natalie was on her last night. Thank you for preserving it.
Why, if there was so much tension and jealousy on the part of Robert Wagner when it came to Christopher Walken, was Walken even on board?
Because Walken and Wagner were having an affair - i'd say that Walken was more than happy to get rid of Natalie. It was the perfect place -on a boat in the dark and they knew she couldn't swim. IMOO
@@gypsybandit7373 That is a stupid name for you.
Because Natalie and Christopher were filming the movie Brainstorm together. And they also supposedly invited a few more people who didn't come.
@@susanb2015 One of the invitees could have been Walken's wife.
@@incognoscente I don't think so. He liked Natalie and I never knew he even had a wife until recently when I read about his life.
I see the corner of the boat is damaged outside the door when he stepped down. It couldn't have been damaged back in their day, they could afford to fix it.
When are you going to invite lapd to do a lumanol test on it !!!
The boat is totally awesome and the rooms are huge. I'd buy that boat if I could and be happy to sleep in one of those cool rooms.
Also this boat is quite old and luxurious back in its day.
eww
The boat looks large. A boat yep, not looking like a yacht at all.

Why dont they contact kim russo to shed ligjt on this matter?
not quite the yacht I imagined it would be. More like a camper interior.
RAYLENE731 Remember, this boar about 40 years ago- luxurious then was different from today’s! Look how small the TV set was!
Looks like just a big double decker boat, not a yacht to me either.
No, that's how old wooden yachts are laid out, with functional seaworthiness built in, unlike yachts and ships built today.
I had similar thoughts...when I think "yacht" I think large and luxurious...this boat is not that.
It’s 55 feet . Exactly ! Surprised it wasn’t bigger .for their luxurious life .
I've lived in Los Angeles most of my life and their public arguments were well talked about. The only thing that might have pushed the rumored bi-sexual Wagner over the edge to hurt her is if she used the "F-word" as in "gay" to emasculate his ego in order to gain the upper hand. In a drunken rage it could have triggered him big time.
what bull crap
I was thinking the exact same thing - she might have been homophobic like a clingy man who resents his wife for being bisexual.
Alcohol played a big part in this tragedy
Natalie deserves peace.
just looking at the boat and people were drinking i can see how an accident could happen, it is a small boat
What make of boat is Spendour and year? Looks like from the 1950s.
Looks like a 1968 Vision.
Seeing her stateroom proximity to deck makes Wagner’s story plausible... you have to see the layout of the boat
Is anyone gonna talk about the GHOST rattling the pages at 2:58 ?!!!
All doors are open and it's on the coast
That's just Windy, the friendly ghost!
@@gsadventures678 Hahaha there he is
Everyone in the comment section is an expert apparently on what happened that night.
Does Wagner think he is a "Ted Kennedy" ?
If he put her in the dingy why was she found floating in the water?
She had 25 bruises on her body. So he was a wife beater to boot.
Makes sense RJ was gay. James Dean, also, never got any part for his acting abilities. Nobody in Hollywood did.
WOW!
Killer boat. Deadly History.
Plundering Owner.
and this is where she shit. and this is her door. and this is her door knob. smh
The boat is totally creepy and being inside those hideous rooms would be claustrophobic. There is no way I would ever sleep in one of those nasty creepy rooms.

Rooms on most boats are small.
I slept in one of those creepy rooms... not bad at all.
no way did she get into the dingy
Dear sweet man, one does not "go upstairs" on a vessel
fourforty RoadRunner wow snobby much ?
He should have stood in each room's doorway and panned the rooms.
cr0
Does it strike anybody else as strange, that a person who was afraid of drowning, as it's said she was, would even get on a boat, much less buy one
David 1 its just you!!!!
You sound like a creep
Dink! Years ago that was a well used term of mine. It doesn't trigger morons like it does when you call them a dick.
Why do you not spend Thanksgiving with your wife of MANY years?
Sad her hubby killed her.
Why did Wagner & the other 2 have to get "the story" straight!
What about just being honest!
Christopher is totally innocent of all this. He came clean with his end of the story. A fight over jealousy he went to his room.
I guess sometimes life does imitate art.I'm picturing this whole scene playing out in a Barnaby Jones episode.Wagner will have to answer to what happened that night,he's not home free just yet!
If I had been intoxicated, I don't think I could have gotten down that skinny path to the dingy without actually falling in it.
Intoxicated refers to a few drinks. Those two were blotto. It is possible , he cannot recall anything.
I just finished reading Lana Wood’s book “Sisters”. Lana Wood gives an interesting account of Natalie Wood’s last 24 hours on earth. Lana also shares her theory of how Robert Wagner murdered her sister Natalie. It’s a very interesting, well written book.
A theory isn't fact though. There was 4 people on that boat that night.
1 is dead, 2 aren't talking and the other one hasn't kept his story straight.
FFS, this is SMALL! (Why the hell was Christopher Walken on this boat? Where was his wife? Why wasn't he just hanging at home with his wife and cats???)
I thought the boat belonged to Robert.
She was a beautiful woman.
Wagner , more than likely
ill never eat huevos rancheros again......

So many 'State Rooms'. 😂😂😂 Tiny berths to the rest of us.
Cameraman is terrible!
Bullshit buddy! She didn’t “step out” into the back, she was punched and slapped around by Wagner then thrown over the side.
