  • Jack White explains his philosophy about today's music and plays a short, but awesome piano version of "Sittin' On Top Of The World". The clip is from the documentary "It Might Get Loud".
    The piano chords for the song are E, A and B but in this particural version they are G#, C# and D#, as pointed out by "coenengelhard".

    People criticized this lineup, but I think it's perfect. You essentially have three artists, each of whom is rebelling against the one who came before. Edge was turning away from the showy solos and guitar heroics of a guy like Jimmy Page, and Jack White was rebelling against the technology-driven style of guys like the Edge. All three are brilliant for very different reasons.

      @annekedebruyn7797 3 роки тому

      @@user-ro5gc6jp9p Which is funnily why everything he said is severely flawed.
      You can be as creative, if not even more, with a computer as you can with a tape machine.
      A computer can enhance that range of expression AND be faster at it. I mean, I love the guy. He is fantastic.
      But the computer hate is so ridiculous, unfounded and hugely pretentious.
      I mean fuck, limit yourself to only using the splice tool, 24 tracks and transport controls if you really want that authentic analog limitation.
      Hell, if you want to go all out, get a second computer and sync the DAWs to simulate 2 24 track machines!
      Analog is great, computers are great. But ultimately it depends how you use it.
      Saying that music became more about technology pretty wrong too.
      This may count for the top 200 charts where everything gets overproduced. But arguably, that could be an expressive choice too. I mean, look at T-Pain and Cher. They both owned that Autotune. But even then, there aren't many competing in that top 200 anyway.
      There is a lot of music being made with a computer sounding fantastic whether acoustically or electronic music with a computer.
      Sorry for the rant.

Software that can literally fix a shitty drummer and make him perfectly on time with the song taking the human soul out of the music,, allowing people who don't work hard to earn the talent to be a great musician to make music anyways, cluttering the industry with garbage. Obviously this man uses various technologies every day, like the electric guitar, but that's not what he's talking about.

    @snowguitar100 It is Jack White's 1915 Gibson L-1 archtop guitar. From 1902 to 1926, it had and arched top. Beginning with 1926 it was reintroduced as a flattop guitar and was most famously used by Robert Johnson. The L-1 was generally discontinued in 1937 with only the Robert Johnson Signature reissue being made today. In my personal opinion though, this reissue can't top the original archtop model.
