I used to live there in the 80s as a kid when the Naval Air Station was still active. I had the pleasure of revisiting Alameda this past month when I was there on a business trip and was surprised how wonderful it had become. It actually got me really thinking about moving there. I loved it.

Bay Farm Island was always a peaceful place, I have a few old friends residing there, too.

Didn't remember they closed the Navy base in 1997!
I have fond memories of the whole area as I was assigned there on the USS Coral Sea from 74 thru 77. We were overseas part of the time but I still remember Berkeley and surrounding areas. Had a lot of good times then. I hear it has changed a bit so I'll have to go see it now. On my bucket list!😂❤

It’s still ongoing but the base is still more like Oakland in terms of the homeless living in the abandons buildings and hangars but there is a lot of progress and all the other streets like Webster and Lincoln and Central are still good old same old
