I remember that pain. Everytime the doctor tightened that wire was another 1-2 days where it was uncomfortable. Just keep track of the retainer when that time comes. DON'T put a retainer in a napkin, ever! Quickest way of loosing one of those.

My daughter, who is 16, has had them on for two years. She had one tooth on the right side that wouldn't align but as of now she has one month left and they come off. She I s amazing...like you
I have that toothbrush and I love it too. I didn't think it would make that much difference, but an electric toothbrush is a game changer. Fingers crossed for a smooth braces journey.

My wife used to be in dentistry (assistant, oral surgical assistant, practice manager) years ago. Brush often! The Waterpik suggestion below is a good idea! My wife saw so many kids get numerous cavities since braces can trap food. Hopefully by next summer you'll be done with braces and have an even prettier smile than you do now! You rock!

It's going to hurt.. I had it for 4 years. The nights are terrible but you'll be glad you did it.
Me and my siblings were blessed with well aligned teeth. We didn't need braces. Even if we had needed such, the family didn't have the financial resources for such.
A friend got braces in her late 20's. I don't know why. She was beautiful and she had a beautiful smile. I remember how painful she was when the braces were tightened...

Nave, I had braces for three years , while in my 30s, and a mother of two. They changed my life by taking the headaches from TMJ away. The time will go quicker than you think, and you will be so glad you did it.
It's totally a self conscious thing you'll get accustomed to them. 2 of my kids had them the toughest thing was the soreness and the adjustments,a water pic really helped with the cleaning. They did good and the results are worth it!😁💖

Good deal!!! I had braces at 15, my bottom teeth had one tooth that moved far backs an adult, it was bad enough that I had to have metal braces and not the invisaligns, I am 67 tomorrow and I just got them off last September!!! It is never to late to improve ones self. My step brother in law was my orthodonist, he told Mom that I did not do it for looks, I needed it done. The tooth was hitting the roof behind my front teeth! You will be so happy with the outcome, it is a confidence builder.
Oh Nave, they don't look bad at all! Like DC said, so many people have them now a days, that you really don't notice them. Don't let yourself suffer worrying about it!

Never wore braces. We were too poor.
However just an anecdotal story about weeding. I owned a nursing home in Tahoka TX. There was an 86 year old farmer whose field was like this under weed pressure. He had cotton and corn. He had the fancy equipment to spray for weeds. Worked fairly well. However there was still a problem. Every couple of weeks the weeds would reappear. He got his golf cart and hoe and would work his fields. When it came time to sell his crop he was getting above top dollar. There were few to no weeds.
You’ll be glad you did this, be proud of your smile!! It’s a beautiful one.
You will get so you don’t even notice them. And you will love the result. Smile and the world smiles with you. You are really such a pretty girl. 🤗❤️
Nave, congratulations on getting your braces, not only will your smile be more beautiful than it is now when you get them off, your mouth will be healthier. Now days you only have them on for maybe two years, I had mine on for 4 years, fourth grade to eighth grade back in the early eighties. Hang in there, they will be off before you know it!
You look beautiful Nave! It is only temporary and is going to help your dental health for life! You are awesome no matter what! And no lisp! You sound perfectly like yourself! And no you cannot eat corn on the cob! No matter how careful you are! My sister tried and broke hers the first week so please don’t try!

Had braces for years, would recommend a waterpic. Much better than using the interdental floss things.

On my third month now with Invisalign and it is almost painless. Super easy, but I do lisp! Seeing great results! Hang in their Nave and you'll get used to the routine.

Nave, the beauty within more than out ways any concerns you have about the braces dampening your outward beauty which is still incredible. Note for DC, I worked at a job for over 5 years where I had to kneel down about 200 times a day, it rubbed all the hair off of the calves of my legs over 30 years ago and it never came back, so I can sympathize with you. Good luck with the braces Nave.
I can relate to your situation Nave, I had cramped teeth and one tooth overlapped the other and I was so conscious of it in my youth. As I got older it was nothing compared to so many others. It did bug me however and I didn't ever smile in pictures because of it. No braces but years later all my teeth are what I always hoped they would be. Now I smile all the time without being self conscious. Funny how we imagine ourselves and how others see us. No big deal in the whole scheme of things.........but you like I was so happy to get it right and it really did make a difference in how I felt about myself.

I understand about the toothbrush! I use a Phillips Sonicare toothbrush and before I started using it I had begun having gum issues and had lots of plaque buildup when I went to the hygienist. Now, my gums are sooo much better and I have very little plaque. Good luck with the braces, Hneiva.

Yayyyy! You will be so happy with the results!! I had braces for 5 long years...Invest in a WaterPik... The only advice I wish someone would have given me then. They work so great to get food out of tight spaces, and helps to keep the gums squeaky clean!
Made me hungry. Moved from Quincy IL to TX 27 years ago. Don't have Maidrite down here. I only get them when I go home to visit which isn't often. I also miss White Castle's. You look good with the braces.
Use a water pic. I used one and after 2 years just one little cavity. You can use it after anytime you eat. I had to have 4 teeth removed due to my mouth was very small. You will appreciate the change. Only time I had pain was to tighten wires.
I'm actually looking forward to getting them tightened. It'll mean we're one step closer to getting them out.
Hi Nave. I hope the braces are not too painful. I suggest you get a Waterpik! They are the most awesome tools and you will not believe how much gunk you get out! No really! They are awesome Nave. My son put me onto the Waterpik when he had braces and I am amazed. Go for it.

I got braces as an adult too, I also had a "fang", as I referred to it, and a crossbite. I got tired of covering my mouth when I smiled or laughed, I'm so glad I got them and you will be too. 😀
You look great and will be so happy when it’s over. Every time they adjust them it will be sore for a couple of days! Ice cream is good!
Learn to use wax to cover the rough spots up! I got them at the age of 18 and I had a job while going to college that had a dental plan so I could do it for my self! So I understand what you mean to do something for yourself!... I’ve never been sorry!
I always notice how crazy and upbeat Cole is in his videos, when on here he is much much calmer.
I'm 54. I've wanted braces since jr high school. My last kid just graduated last year and so now I don't have to support any one but me .... I just got mine on 6 months ago. I change the band color every month to match the theme of the month ( Red for February for valentines, green for March for St Patrick's day etc) I smile more now 😀 I have another 6 months to go but my teeth look way better ❤

I had braces for 6 years. It hurts and they bother you when they tighten them and they rub the insides of your mouth. Sometimes the doc would give me wax to put on braces to make it smoother when the sores got bad and it helps! But you will be so happy with your super straight teeth when you are done.

Good for you lady! I wish I had gotten braces 30 or 40 years ago. But I thought it was a waste of money because they weren’t that bad and I knew my daughter would need them. At almost 60….it’s just too late with all the crowns I have. Good Luck!

One thing I miss the most about the Midwest is the Maid-Rite sandwiches. There's nothing like it out on the west coast. So sad. 😞 Congrats on the braces though! It's definitely painful when they put new wires in, but it's manageable. 🙂
At 20, I paid for my braces. Had 4 wisdom teeth extracted(one of them was impacted) and a bottom front incisor. I wore metal braces for three years and a retainer for a couple more years. It was one of the best investments in myself. That was over 40 years ago. Thank you for bringing up that great memory. I had terrible jagged picket fence teeth and a protruding overbite. I still have a great smile.
Yep, it can take a bit to get used to braces. Every time the orthodontist makes adjustments there will that familiar ache. Clove and birch essential oils can help with that. The time will fly and then they’ll be coming off. At least you don’t have to have surgery in your mouth. I did that my sophomore year in high school and was wired shut for three weeks. But I was so glad the day mine came off. And the smile is worth it!

Hey Nave, Great decision to have that done you won’t regret it!! Back in the early 70s I had what they called the railroad track style with a band cemented on each tooth!! Then it seem like every week or so I had to go get the things tightened up that was the bummer because it was sore!! You look just fine with those!! It just takes a little while to get used to it!! Keep up the great videos you and Cole!! Everybody loves them 👍😎!!

I've never needed braces as my teeth have been pretty good all my life, so all I can say is you are much braver than I am to have braces, good luck it's all gonna be great at the end!
Nave those braces do not take away any of your beauty so don't worry about it, you are who you are and you're doing it to help yourself.
I got braces when I was in the 4th grade. I definitely had a lisp. Saying Mississippi, while learning the states, was really hard. I finally got them off around my sophomore year. Can't believe I've had them off for about 12-13 years. You get use to it after awhile. P.S. it's also difficult to play the trumpet with braces. P.S.S. you look good with them.

All good girl. Make sure you have wax. Sometimes wire will irritate inside of mouth. And tylenol for when they get tightened. We still love you!♥️ ps. My friend had a tooth just like that and her teeth came out beautiful!
