Me personally after seeing the effort that was put into SV with the story and characters, and now having experienced what its like to make a game like that, i think making a remake of an older game they already have the layout for will be a walk in the park for them!!
F*CK Nintendo at this point! I've been a Gen 4 fan for 2 years! If we get screwed so do Gen 5! They deserve it! ...And I know... Because I used to be one for 12 years!
I think they should just do a Black and White 3 at this point. Since lacey and drayton are confirmed to be related to clay and drayden when you play the dlc, that pretty much confirms that time has gone by since Black and White 2.
I think they would remake them first because making a trilogy out of ds games wouldn’t work well since people can’t play the og games, they’d need to do a remake of the first games
How though? Why now? At this point it’s too late. I could see a legends game because they probably aren’t doing it in any order, like the next one probably doesn’t have to be a region after Kalos.
I really miss how Unova didn’t have pokémon from the national dex, it really made the new pokémon at the time feel special and like they had an ecological niche.
Tell that to everyone on the internet when BW were at their prime and it felt like the majority of the fandom *SEVERELY AND UTTERLY DESPISED* using only new Pokémon and treated nearly the entire Unova roster as garbage
unfortunately the loud minority ruined that for the people who actually enjoyed b/w when it released... nowadays too many normies are playing pokemon that will complain when they'll do it again, so never expect anything like that again
My vision of the ideal Unova remakes would be a collection package similar to Sonic Origins in the sense that you get 2 campaigns for the price of one. For example, one game would have Black and Black 2 sold together, while White and White 2 are sold alongside it. Black 2 or White 2 would be unlocked after completing the first game, and it could function as a New Game+, complete with the same trainer name and Trainer ID.
i SUPER miss the art direction of gen6. i know theyre 3ds rather than switch but the characters were SO CUTE and the settings were gorgeous. i forever wish that the games thatd come after them held onto that
The Gen 6 style of Chibis were like the perfect mix especially with the worlds they surrounded. But for the switch games i think the LGPE games NAILED the look of a modern chibi style
I really wish I got to experience gen 6, but I didn’t because my brother was the one with the 3ds and I didn’t get one until he got the n3dsxl. At that time I think he gave me Pokémon white. From what I remember I don’t remember liking how XY looked, but I liked how ORAS looked from the bit I played a week ago.
Mega Evolution can serve a perfect role in the story of Pokémon Black and White. The dark Pokédex entries can serve as evidence for N’s position of wanting to separate Pokémon from humans while the lore surrounding mastery of the phenomenon requiring a strong bond between trainer and Pokémon can be exemplified by the player by separating the affection stat from friendship once more. Affection would determine the strength of a trainer’s bond with the Pokémon and when the stat is lower than two hearts as seen in X & Y would cause flavor text reflecting the dark Pokédex entries pertaining to each specific Mega Evolution. An affection stat two hearts and higher would signify mastery of the phenomenon. It would need to be separated from the friendship stat because of its resetting when a Pokémon is boxed. Tying Mega Evolution to the affection stat requires the separation of it from the friendship stat. For some of the B2W2 GYMs, what if we want to pull what the anime did and do the poison type gym instead of Drayden/Iris?
i agree that the lgpe art style is way more fitting as an art direction to take future pokemon games in if they insist on being 3d but there's also something so charming about the sprite style that the ds pokemon games had, too
I would love if Pokémon did their own take on the hd 2d style for gen 5 and keep the sprites from it, like I don’t see them doing it, but I feel like it would be perfect for gen 5 because of the 3D buildings and all that. Actually maybe diamond and pearl had it, but either way I bet gen 5 leaned into it more.
10:11 in regards to where BB Academy is: it's definitely around Castelia. They would need a major port of entry to come back too and also have close access to the airport of Mistralton City to go to other regions, such as Kitakami and Paldea. It being to the west of Castelia is perfect honestly.
before watching, i think a good idea of integrating bw with bw2 is to have a time travel function similar to the legend of zelda's ocarina of time. in oot, you play as young link (bw1) for about half the game and then eventually unlock the ability to time travel, letting you see new areas that have either been built up or degraded with age, similarly to how unova differs between the two games. having a place the player can go or an item to travel time would be an easy way for nintendo to combine the two games. maybe something like a hgss approach where after the e4 the player gets an item to go to kanto, they could get an item to let the player time travel forward 30 years
That would be a very very interesting idea, considering that GameFreak isn’t really shy to the whole idea of “Time Travel” I wonder if it’s something they’ll do
@@tippedjoshua6802 yeah so it'll be a bit different like i don't think you'll be playing as a young protagonist and then an old one but some of the cities and routes are drastically different between bw and bw2 i was just saying the map could change with an item similarly to how it does with the ocarina
@@alexandros5412 I just don’t think they would do it like that. I feel like if we get any significant b2w2 content it will either be dlc where it could be the whole game, or no dlc and there’s just certain things you can do in the post game with it still being in the same year. Honestly I might even prefer if they just made it a separate game, like they would probably do more than what they would do with a dlc. I guess it probably wouldn’t sell as well as other Pokémon games, but it also probably wouldn’t be that hard to make because they could just use assets from the first game with maybe a bit of improvements.
@@tippedjoshua6802 yeah i don't think they'd ever do that either it's just a cool idea i had. i think likely nintendo will remake bw with a shitty art style and remove some core gameplay mechanics and turn it into a shit game
@@EganMediaVideos Oshawott is super cute but I've always been a fire type fan since I began playing Pokemon which was during Gen 5 which is why Tepig is my favorite Gen 5 starter Pokemon and if I ended up thinking that I liked water types better than fire types than Oshawott would have been my favorite but in Legends Arceus it is my favorite starter there though I mean I like Cyndaquil and all but If I had to choose between Cyndaquil and Oshawott I would pick Oshawott every time
@@douglaspope-gz1eq I’m normally always Team Fire, majority of the starters I pick are fire, I’ve never gotten the chance to pick Tepig but I’d like to!!!
Firstly it would be Gen 5 remakes. You cannot have BW with no BW2 especially since BW2 did so much for that Gen. But then you can't just use BW2 because of story and emotional build up you wouldn't have without BW1. This isn't an Emerald or Platinum situation where they added some changes and upgrades, BW2 added a whole new story AMONGST the most additions in the history of this series. (also if you really want us happy you'd remake or make a sequel of Conquest while you're at it 😭)
i honestly like the idea of having b2w2 as a delta episode-esque post game -- as much as i love those games, team plasma and just the general story of it feels similar to the delta episode just due to how the main story from bw plays out in those games. if gamefreak decides to do remakes as opposed to b3w3 (which honestly i feel as if b3w3 would be hard to pull off as a proper sequel due to the events of b2w2, imo), it would be interesting to see what they bring over from both games into the remake, imagine how fun the pwt would be or having cynthia jumpscare the player in the postgame.
I think if game freak really tried, they can make black three white three, but I agree with you that it would be a lot more difficult to do that in comparison to just doing what I said
what about a possible bw3? i think with the themes of gen 5 that would be the ideal way to go about it, set it 12 years or 13 after bw2 and move unova fowards instead of just doing a remake. Also i dont think just condensing bw2's story into a post game expansion would be good because its story is not really about team plasma but the unova after its fall.
I think BW3 could be a thing if they REALLY WANTED TO BUT, BW remakes still need to be a thing, there's no evidence that they would just skip or simply not remake the black and white games. And as for BW2 being about Unova after it's fall, I don't see that, The Unova Region prospered with the lack of Team Plasma considering they were able to make new towns, and even replace a champion. I don't think BW2 is about Unova, more so its about Ghetsis like how BW is about N in my opinion
i meant unova after the fall of team plasma. Also BW3 i feel could be a really good thing to happen instead of the remake cuzshowing the impact of the characters from the original game on a unova almost a decade later while keeping some of the story beats of the original as a thematic/poetic callbacks could make for a even better return to unova than just a remake trying to tell 2 stories. thats what i feel tho since its the only gen that directly follows up on its own story. They should keep that boldness and try to follow up on it though on the games history and preservation side a faithful remake would be worth it.@@EganMediaVideos
@@JaakunaSetsu I don't disagree with the notion of idea of Game Freak making a BW3!!! I think its a genuinely really good idea IF THEY COULD DO IT RIGHT!!! However I do think that we would not see a lot of reoccurring Gym Leaders in BW3. I think we might only see Cheren and Roxie returning since they would be the youngest ones, but the rest of the gym leaders could be retired and in their houses or something like that, so I don't know how call backs would work. Also assuming that team plasma would be returning in some way shape or form, I personally think it would feel a little bit like "were doing this again??" kinda situation especially if its 10+ years down the line.
Thats a really good point especially with team plasma, it would be a problem especially if you bring back villains from the originals and i dont think i personally have a solution to that. Though the gym leaders i do believe you can bring back more than two and even the ones that dont return can be doing their own things arround unova or even be more active on the story. After all every generation has more than one older gym leader so the ones still in the position after 10+ years would be even cooler than they were originally imo. Yeah i also agree that bw3 would be hard to pull off well and it would require a fair ammount of dedication but seeing as pokemon is one of the biggest brands in the world i believe they can do it, they have effectively infinite money after all. @@EganMediaVideos
@@JaakunaSetsu Ya know, yeah i think more gym leaders can be part of the lineup i agree but yeah like I said, I don't know how or what to do for BW3 but i would not be opposed to see them!!
Idea for Hugh: Give him the Kieran treatment... kinda. We witness his sister´s Purrloin being taken but fail to help, then we find him in the postgame, stronger, angrier and with a mission (basically cuz the whole thing in the OG games was mostly tell and we will have the chance to do a little showing now)
Unova has always been my favorite region, so I have a lot of ideas for a "perfect" remake. I haven't seen anyone talk about it, so I'll mention this here. I want to see Challenge Mode from BW2 implemented into the game, but you don't need to beat the game to unlock it. It's unlocked as an option from the start. It would be nice for veterans of the game who want it while keeping the game easy for people who don't want it. Also, the Elite Four from BDSP that everyone complains about can be in Challenge Mode so not everyone has to deal with it.
It would be cool for a black and white 3 where they can elaborate on ingo’s disappearance, maybe emmet could go crazy trying to find him and he becomes the villain of the game, there’s a lot of potential
@@Gaming2DMXI'm not saying Ghetsis should be the villain again, I'm saying that going from a villain as well-written and ruthless as that to fucking Emmet the Battle Subway Boss would be a downgrade. You need someone fresh with actual motives and charisma
I've mused the topic of a "1 Year later" epilogue type story where the B2W2 areas unlock after beating BW without fully entering B2W2 territory. Glad I'm not the only one on this style of idea.
The only genuine thing that was needed for the a 2 year time skip was to make the new towns but if we have the BW2 map from the start than there’s no need, we can just rewrite stuff
@@EganMediaVideos There was light implications that some of these locations existed because some events that Hugh talks about happened even before BW began. So it wouldn't be a stretch to have places like Virbank and etc. exist, but have the PWT still be the Cold Storage like in BW.
I personally feel that the two games are better separate as I think when combining them you end up devaluing the world building of the Unova region because the the sequals take place after the originals, and also I think the games and their sequels have different strengths that make them work better as two games rather than trying to have the best of both worlds and probably leaving people disappointed. However, I still do appreciated the ways you went about combining the. Also they would totally sell the sequels separately to make more money.
I think the best way is to make either a Leyends Unova or a secuel of BW2, where we see the original dragon. The main problem is the evil team because team plasma was permanently dissolved in BW2. So I suggest a new team that's not evil and has the objective to recreate the original dragon.
If Team Plasma couldn't re create the original dragon, I doubt a brand new "Team" could end up doing it. Team Plasma Manged to merge only Either Reshiram or Zekrom with Kyruem one at a time, not both. If we want to see the original dragon it should be ina legends game. not only could we see it there but there so much more we could be told in terms of the old kingdom of Unova. Getting the orignial dragon in BW3 would be a waist of potential
A new game + would be cool. First run is the first games, new game + would be the sequels and you could carry over a couple eggs of Pokémon from the first run and new game + would be a challenge mode with npc Pokémon are higher levels and even have EV training. The original play through can have post game and you can still access to that save file after starting new game + as for the the player characters you can keep them separate this way.
This is too ambitious on game freaks part but I'd love a B/W3 where it takes place in the past and we dive deeper into the details of the original dragon and the two brothers. I think it would be pretty cool if we could experience real time the events of the brothers fighting amongst themselves and the original dragon eventually being separated between the two. We would also just get more first hand info on the original dragon and the brothers themselves in this timeline. I have an idea on how they could do the evil team but I haven't solidified it yet, but if they can follow this main blueprint here I think we would get one hell of a game. Gen 5 was the first and only to get a sequel, so I feel it would be respecting gen 5 to continue the trend.
They could also let you toggle if you want older Pokémon during the main story and then afterwards they could simply Spawn in all of the Pokémon that would have been there if you chose the other option. It's like the national Dex in Pokémon omega ruby and alpha sapphire.
@EganMediaVideos I know, and I'm pretty sure it would be pretty easy for them to program it in and it would add a New incentive to explore previous routes and towns that you've already been to because they'd have new Pokémon to catch.
Even though B2W2 are my favourite pokemon games, I think having them as a Delta Episode type post-game actually works really well. The only problem I see with that is that there would be no 2 year time skip, so going straight from N's Team Plasma to Ghetsis's Neo Team Plasma so quickly wouldn't make a lot of sense story-wise. Great video btw
I think it would make sense and here’s why, by far Ghetsis is one of the smartest evil villains in Pokemon, I believe that if Game Freak re wrote some stuff and removed the 2 year time skip it would Imply that Ghetsis always had this backup plan and was ALWADY ready to do this himself is shit ever hit the fan
@EganMediaVideos I think it'd be kinda fun. I actually enjoy terastalizing also grimsleys ace MUST be a kingambit in the remakes like how Phoebes was dusknoir in ORAS
And a legends game were its about kyurem but 100%, it would be situated in a mediaeval world and we would see a fight between brothers for power in the kingdom
Love the video, Gen 5 was the first gen I played, fell in love. I cant wait to replay these games in the future. I hope Gamefreak makes these just as memorable as the OG games. I recently played Legends Arceus. I loved it. I would love to see more legends style games in the future. Loved the video, keep it up!!
I think this is the most realistic and well thought out idea for BW remakes I've seen. So many talk about things they'd like to see that are just clearly and plainly not the direction the Pokemon Company is going anymore. While I don't see all (or most) of what is discussed here happening, I think it's still VERY consistent with the general direction GameFreak has been taking Pokemon now-a-days. So many people talk about wanting it to look like Octopath Travelers, and the reality is, that's just NOT going to happen. GameFreak has made it very clear that they are sticking with 3D. I also really like this way of handling it, because the fact that they'd have to remake 2 games has been my biggest concern/confusion with these, and I've figured we would just get BW remakes, with no B2W2 at all. So boy, would I love it if it were delta episode esque.
Thank you so much for your kind words!! Im really happy you can see and agree with the things I say, and I fully agree with the Octopath Traveller comment, they would never do it, not to say it wouldnt be cool
Loved your video man, The one thing i wish but i know it will never happen is them going back to mega evolution and that whole concept well maybe one day for the future xy remakes.
Pokémon White was my first proper playthrough of a Pokémon game, it was a beautiful world and I still boot it up and play it whenever I feel bored becuase the world feels so alive, we know they've been putting some amount of work to get better at 3D models but I would much prefer something much closer to Octopath Traveller, they had such beautiful settings and art and they were really good with pixel art to begin with so applying what they've learned with models and apply that in a 2D setting could make Castelia City feel so much more grand, flesh Nimbasa and Driftveil out more, they could make the routes more expansive or more detailed
What would be easier for gamefreak would be to simply allow you to choose, in the beginning of the game, which story you'd want to play. they'd only need to make one map, that being the BW2 map, and the only things they'd need to do is change the trainer/gym leader etc teams and levels a bit and change the wild spawns between unova only in the bw story and expanded pokedex for the bw2 story, they can then change the spawn tables to bw2 in the post game of both stories.
For me Game Freak should just take their time cooking with the remakes and release one full definitive edition game that contains the story of BW1 and BW2 as two different journeys. If anyone has ever played Persona 3 FES, think of it as the same, where "The Journey" and "The Answer" were two different stories that you could select, but the game would heavily push you to play "The Journey" first, as it would be the chronological order to experience them. Similarly, you could choose between playing BW or BW2 but the game would push you to play BW first. You could even lock BW2 until successful completion of BW1 if you really wanted to. I believe having the map be different across the two is necessary, as it shows the passage of time that is the 2 year jump between games (although I do think the Castelia Sewers should be a part of BW1, it makes no sense for a gigantic city to lack a sewer system). This method of remaking the games would take a LOT of time and development, but I think it is the best way to go about it and it wouldn't disappoint any fans. Going about it any other way is essentially becoming complacent with Game Freak's laziness and allowing them to release unfinished work.
It does look like there gonna do a let's go johto and then gen 5 in gen 10 but they could just do black and white with or without a remake of the first 2
Just an Idea, since we are kinda cutting into the middle of the 2 year time skip what if the purrloin Hugh is looking for hasn't been fully brainwashed and is able to safely return to Hugh's sister. The questing would go along with the heartfelt cheren is a gym leader convo followed by a younger Hugh chasing some disguised plasma grunts out of Aspertia, you follow him and catch the team plasma ppl, he tells you his sob story, you investigate and find out a member of the shadow triad has purrloin and you track the triad all over the region until you finally stop them on the bridge between route 9 and opelucid where you secure the purrloin and return it to Hugh's sister.
I also support sex dimorphic character designs and custom options. XY have them the best despite the limited colors. Legends: Arceus did a great job on the Japanese clothes.
Teralistilizing and Megas would be cool. In terms of art style, do Cel Shading. Make it ring closer to Sugimori's style. So the dark lines like the 3DS games.
The idea of a Sun and Moon remake could be more easier to think about than Black and White because SM & USUM were half, if not, the mostly similar in plot. But would they only have one of their turning points (Ultra Lucaminé possession or Necrozma pulling up on the box legendaries) or somehow have both. I would imagine that if both, they would have Lucaminé cured of coma very early and within the plot for she can still be involved in the Rainbow Rocket takeover. BW & B2W2 are pretty much completely different stories cut connected. What could happen in the remakes is basically a 2 in 1 game, but who would be the protagonist through and through? Rosa or Hilda? I forgot the name of the male versions 😅 Will there be a timeskip?
I do agree with those ideas for Gen 5 remakes. Now I'll be honest I never played Gen 5. but one thing I do want to see in the remakes are getting Ribbons.
What about making a bw3 taking place 14 years after bw2? 2 points I have for this: 1 - by taking place 14y after bw2 we could include the blueberry academy and it’s trainers. 2- to support point #1, it is said that lacey is from nimbasa city, but she clearly has references to clay, so her mother can probably be elesa, and since the main character is now 11-12yo that makes lacey and the e4 13-14, which would give a good time frame for the relantionship of elesa and clay to come to fruition.
They should definitely add tera Pokemon to the game. Like have a new part of Chargestone cave have Tera Crystals or something similar, and maybe (but this is just biased) a story plot where a person's Zoura died from Team plasma, and you find the place where it happened and a Hisuian Zoura is there. This could let you see why you DEFINITELY need to take out Team Plasma. (Probably post game though)
Having the Terastilzation Gimmick in the remakes would imply that the BW remakes are next in line for Pokémon Games, and that is 100% not gonna be the case. The only time we've ever seen anything like this happen is in ORAS where they added on new megas, But we never saw Z Crystals in the Lets go games, because those were gen 7 games, and we never saw either dynamax/GMax or Quick and Agile style in BDSP. It would be cool if they mentioned it BUT I realistically don't see it happening. And Hisuian Zorua is not the product of a dead Zorua, its the product of the climate it lives in
@@EganMediaVideosI think he's implying that the Hisuian Zoura is supposed to symbolize death not that he's implying that Hisuian Zouras come from dead Zouras and that it's supposed to be a clue on what happened there you know ghosts types=death Hisuian Zoura=Unovan Zoura gamefreak likes to drop hints on lore without actually out right spelling it out for us so it's not outside of gamefreak's ball park
I personally think the games should start out with the same map, pokedex, etc. as BW through the Unova League, then have maybe one little postgame storyline from BW like finding all the Plasma Sages. Once that is done, there could be a 2 year time jump where the world and pokedex resemble B2W2, you can play through some of the main story bits from team Plasma, Challenge the new Gym leaders, World Tournament, and all the other typical postgame stuff like catching legendaries and finishing the pokedex. I might be alone in this, but I think I would be at peace with the B2W2 storylines being part of a DLC if it meant that we could get more content and a more complete and polished experience.
Wow, you actually did a pretty decent job at cramming the notable parts of BW2's story into the BW remake's postgame, because that does show it can work if reimagined as a postgame story still set during the BW1 story. I highly doubt they'll do it, but if they actually use BW2's example of having some pre-Unova Pokémon available during the main game, that would be amazing. It's one thing fans undeniably hated about BW1, so BW2 fixed that. Hell, if they actually do end up remaking BW2 either as a separate game or DLC (which is unlikely), then I guess we needn't worry about that. But I still love your idea of incorporating BW2's areas into BW1 Unova.
There’s so many ways that the whole thing between black and white and the sequels could be done with the remakes but I think having the games without the inclusion of Nate and Rosa like your Kyurem episode idea would kind of make Nate and Rosa feel useless unless they’re a secret boss like Hilbert and Hilda were going to be, but what if you could swap between the different protagonists such as Hilbert to Nate or have Nate or Rosa be an npc alongside Hugh depending on which gender you choose (would be best for a Kyurem episode) Or you could have the option of after you beat the game there’s a new option where if you press on it there’s literally the whole game of black 2 and white 2 remade and professor juniper shows up and you choose your character. If game freak does remake these games I hope they’re creative on how they do it because they mean a lot to me and other unova fans but it’s trickier having a sequel instead of a third version though as long as they aren’t BDSP I’m happy
I would honestly be fine with Black and White remakes that simply focus on being the best way to play Black and White, not worrying too much about being or surpassing their sequels (honestly I like the plot in BW much more than in B2W2, even if I agree that they compliment each other really well), but I'd like at least some hints by the end of the game, the "episode Kyurem" idea is really solid, but I'd be okay with smaller mentions, alluding to the memory link from B2W2, like maybe you'll be able to visit the new towns from B2W2 and challenge the new Gym leaders before they officially get recognized as Gym leaders, have scenes with Cheren saying he'd like to become a gym leader and inspire young trainers like Alder inspired him, have scenes with Lenora or the chef trio or Brycen saying how they'd like to step down as gym leaders to pursue their passions, hints at what will become B2W2, even if they don't really end up making B2W2 remakes in the end... Clay could mention the construction of the PWT (since I highly doubt they'll ever bring that back in 3D), maybe N's Pokémon from B2W2 could be catchable in those same areas as another easter egg, and I bet there will be some kind of way to fuse Kyurem and the two dragons, like maybe Colress would give the player the DNA splicers at the end of the game or after catching Kyurem, maybe you can find it in a Team Plasma lab with a note by Colress even if his actual 3D model never shows up, idk, I'm sure a TON of people would be really mad but I'd be happy with that personally...
Tbh I agree and am in the same boat that the plot of BW is Leagues better than BW2, you got a really solid group of ideas!!! And I wish I had thought of some of these myself!!!
Thank you so much for the kind words. Comments like these genuinely make the hours of effort into these videos worth it!! I'm gonna make it big soon!! Just you wait!!
Honestly, you can finesse a timeskip with going to the blueberry academy and staying there for a year or two of ingame time, then return to mainland unova and see things have changed
"Hey, did you hear they're building a new school?" "Yeah, I think it was called Blueberry Academy." "I'm really looking forward to it, but I just have one question: The fuck is a blueberry?" "No clue."
I would love if it was some sort of collection of remakes of both. Maybe they could somehow combine it where after you beat the first game it transitions to Nate in someway. I guess that’s too ambitious for a Pokémon remake. Maybe they could do dlc, but they probably wouldn’t do that for a remake, or they could release b2w2 as it’s own remake, but you already made points about why it doesn’t make sense and I agree.
Maybe a cool idea coeld be making a non-faithful Black and White remake with a postgame that takes place a few years later and then havinf the story of Black and White 2 progress, that way the player character could interact with the player character in Black and White 2 and work together have a fierce mach for the title of champion etc.
Regarding Hugh ... You could also show him with you not necessarily as a rival, but a guy you can battle once or twice before the post-game, before his sister's pokemon get lost. Consider him a normal NPC trainer... And then the post-game can be helping him
I was rather comically expecting the answer to be ''you can't'' XDDD Great video! Super interesting perspective on how to handled the suppossed remakes, I myself am not quite sure how I would want these to be done IF they ever get done, hell I'm not even sure I'd want them at all! Something Like a Legends Kyurem would be more interesting I think, B&W and B2&W2 are such incredible games that can be analyzed through so many angles I don't think I'm quite confortable with they remaking them, but it's bound to happen, so might as well accept it...
@@EganMediaVideos at least kyurem was more involved than giratina but yeah when i was playing platinum i was like why didn't giratina be more involved in the story
Great video. You are the cutest pokemon channel i've seen on youtube. I agree with you that 'Lets Go' has the best art style for remaking older titles. Would love Black and White remake with content from the second game blended into the post game.
I don't care much for the art style of modern mainline Pokemon games. You're right that the Let's Go games are the best looking ones on the Switch. I just think the more cartoony art style fits Pokemon so much better. I know it'll never happen but I wish the games would go back to using sprites. Imagine a Pokemon game that looked like Octopath Traveler! But if they're going to stay with 3D models then I prefer the LGPE look.
These are some sound ideas you got there. One could even take the concept of the delta-episode a step further, sprinkle some Ultra Necrozma into it and you got some solid ground for the reveal of the original dragon. For the artstyle section, there's also the New Pkmn Snap game but there's literally no chance we ever get a game looking like that. Neither what I wish for but I just throw it out anyways. BW is by design very much the ancestor of HD-2D, so a remake in Octopath Style with the return of Pixel Art would be a dream come true, but we all know that pure 3D on a 3DS engine is all TPC can muster sadly...
We need the World Tournament again. Every Gym Leader, every Elite 4 member, every Champion and all of them have a Mega Evolution! For crying out loud, Mega's have been gone for FAR too long and Unova got completely screwed over by only getting one. Speaking of which, Mega Audio needs to be buffed. Either replace Healer with Regenerator or buff Healer so that it works like Hydration except it doesn't require Rain Dance.
@@EganMediaVideos 🤔 I'd be intrigued how you'd imagine the sequels would work as dlc for base game. Perhaps if it was 2 dlcs something like Episode 1 The Grey Husk/The Grey One Episode 2 The Original Dragon? On the other hand it could just be one whole release DLC.
I don't like the idea of Hilbert/Hilda doing the B2/W2 stuff in postgame and don't like the idea of Nate/Rosa doing B/W stuff either, my idea is after completing the game with Hilbert/Hilda our perspective will be switched to Nate/Rosa showing something 2 years later and we play along with our new protagonists but after we complete our B2/W2 stuff, we will be able to switch our perspective again whenever we want something like GTA 5 and there would be a postgame like reunion of Hilbert/Hilda with N and something like that, idk its complicated😬 that's just my idea. I actually have another idea in which B3/W3 is a sequel in which our protagonist is lore keeper or something who knows that there is a another kyureum in depth of giant chasm but team plasma gains the information of that somehow, our protagonist tries to stop them in which we get help from Hilda/Hilbert this time not N and we solve the problem, but we eventually get the quest of reuniting 2 friends and find N, later we find N, in postgame Hilbert/Hilda hands us his/her Zekrom/Reshiram to fullfill our duties of lorekeeper by seeing N also hander his Reshiram/Zekrom to Rosa/Nate, and then we catch the 2nd Kyureum and combine it with our Zekrom/Reshiram and then we will be hidden battle or something with Rosa/Nate. Bruh this sounds more lame than previous idea🥲
The protagonist you play as in either of the games does not matter lol, they could have swapped it for the OG BW and had us play as Nate and Rosa instead. People are so used and afraid to let go of whatever is already happened. The matter of the fact is that these games are 99.999% going to happen, and absolutely no chance of a BW3. Gen 5 was their least profitable Gen, theres no way they’re gonna put faith in something that didn’t do the best for them. The only thing I can genuinely see them doing is taking Gen 5 and putting it into a format that they know Will sell, LIKE A LEGENDS KYUREM GAME

The remakes might turn out like BDSP. The Generation 6 battle character models, Let's Go graphics, or 2D anime character cel sprites on top of 3D backgrounds would help.
Or heres a crazy idea: just sell a game thats complete in the first place and doesnt need an extra $30 dlc to feel like the games we used to pay just $40 for
In terms of pokemon that can be found in routes, it would be best to include both versions from bw1 and bw2. (I would also prefer if the swarm pokemon are part of the main routes, with Farfetch'd in route 1 being an example). This is to not only make the pokemon you catch more varied, but to also have trainers use different Pokemon to make each battle more interesting, too. Hell, you can even increase the amount of pokemon in the BW2 Pokedex by 100 if you wanted to, including the forms and evolutions you just listed (since 400 is the new standard of the amount of pokemon in the regional pokedex, and there are some pokemon in the post game of bw1 that are not in bw2's Pokedex). As a gen 5 addicted person, I really like how you handled on combining both aspects of 1 and 2 into one game, though you did sacrifice Looker's side quest because of it. Regardless, this is a pretty great video, and I hope more peeps can see your ideas blossom. Keep up the great work!
I like your addition to the Pokédex idea!!! And I’m glad you like my idea/method of going about combining the two together!!! And thank you so much for the kind words
How would you handle the b2w2 water gym leader (forgot his name) if cress already exists and how would you handle the gym leaders that got fired or quit
This is an amazing question!!! I genuinely think for the Marlon situation, since its a toss up between Fire, Grass, and Water, with that very first gym, I think its okay to have Marlons gym just be more of post game fan service fun instead of anything to serious when it comes to the gym badges. As for the gym leaders that quit, I think that once we get to the post game, the according ones like Brycen will indeed quit but you will still be able to rematch them if you want to some where else within Unova!!!
@@EganMediaVideos whoa you are probably the first UA-camr I’ve seen reply to questions thanks! there’s two other questions I would like to ask how would you do the striaton city “post game” would it just be a rematch like black and white or the double battle where you team up with a triplet and fight the other two and would there be a pokemon world tournament or would it be cut
@@amazingpi that’s actually a rlly good question and I have a rlly good answer!!! There is some things I think they could have done but honestly BDSP is my favorite of yet to play any of the new ones and I'm not really urging to. I love the simple chibi art and classic feel of it. It scratches my itch whenever smash ultimate can't
You don’t want a sequel, you want a prequel aka a legends game about Kyurem. And regardless of if I or anyone wants remakes, they will happen so why not go for the best outcome
I'm not a very big of the legends game, it felt kinda half asked tbh. Regardless I I would like a sequel about trying to rejoin kyurem and its history a bit.
@@Dripsoka While I can somewhat understand distaste towards the legends title. Don't you think it would be cooler to go back in time to a period in which the original dragon already existed instead of trying to merge it back together? @@EganMediaVideosthat is cool idea though think do the legends game regardless if they do my sequel idea anyway. The legends game is kinda inevitable. Kinda like how they did both bdsp and legends. I would prefer sequels over a remake.
My best guess is that ILCA will make faithful remakes of the first BW games, while Game Freak will make Black & White 3: which will be an original story that includes elements from both Gen 5 games, but at the same time feel like remakes at their core since they follow similar beats to the original BW games
@@EganMediaVideos I can see BW3 being a futuristic equivalent to Legends where it shows how Unova’s changed over times but is still dealing with lingering elements of Team Plasma, essentially following the story beats of the original BW with a new coat of paint. Plus, just like how Legends introduced origin forms of Dialga & Palkia, BW3 could introduce the original dragon that split up into the Tao trio
@@Zistheone2 while it would be interesting to see, the lingering effects of team plasma is not enough to make a whole game around and at this point neither is team plasma, they are done and dusted and need to never come back for a third try. As for the original dragon, why would we have a game set further into the future to see a Pokemon that existed in the PAST, we could see it with a LEGENDS GAME
@@EganMediaVideos Team Plasma doesn’t necessarily have to come back. They could introduce a new villain or organization that tries to accomplish their same goals, and then reveal that Ghetsis was once again the puppet master behind everything. It would be a way to show that no matter how things change, history is destined to repeat itself if people fail to learn from the mistakes of the past.
I think they will release a "faithful" remake of BW by ILCA, then a Legends Unova game by Gamefreak and then a "faithful" BW 2 remake by ILCA in the span of 2 years. But I'm pretty sure that we get something for Johto this year and that they save Unova for the Switch 2.
If we do end up getting ILCA again, all I can say is that the games r gonna AUTOMATICALLY be better than BDSP simply because BW are already more fun and more full games than BDSP and if we do get Johto soon then DAYM
Heres my idea for bw remakes! So at the beginning it'd give you the option to play with the unova dex or the expanded dex. If you choose the unova dex you'll play through the game similarly to bw1 but of course with the normal changes remakes would bring and then in the post games all of the pokemon in the expanded dex would start showing up giving incentive to re explore the region where if you chose the expanded dex at the start youd already see them. Then once you get to post game youll unlock the unova link menu. This will let you do things like the regis, difficulty and swapping the black tower and white forest but also now there'll be another option which will basically bring you 2 years in the future where you can explore expanded unova and fight the new gym leaders. Doing this would also give a solid conclusion for the bw1 protagonists as now you can visit everyone after your 2 year absence and reunite and for the bw2 plot there'd be something like a longer delta episode where you team up with Hugh and Nate or Rosa to take on team plasma and help kyruem. After this youll get one more toggle in the unova link menu so you have 3 separate options that you can easily jump from and too. 1. Be in Bw1 unova as Hilbert or Hilda 2. Be in modern-day bw2 unova as Hilbert and hilda and 3 after doing that delta episode like part you can now play as Nate or rosa and explore the region with Hugh like in bw2 but this time alongside Cherin Hilbert or Hilda will be there to lend a hand like how things played out in the extra episode! I know thisll never happen but this would be the ideal remake situation for me!
If we are having Unova/Gen 5 remake, we need remake for both Black & White and also Black 2 & White 2. Unova is not complete without B2W2. I completely agree that we should introduce details from B2W2 in the BW remake.
This is really cool idea that you have come up with but there is something you didn't bring up. If they are ever going to return to Unova it would be a crime if they didn't give us the original dragon Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem are from. When Ghetsis fights us with Kyurem he should bring out a new item that allows Kyurem to fuse with Zekrom and Reshiram which we have to fight. Like how Volo uses both Giratina forms. It should be called something like Perfect Kyurem like how Ultra Necrozma is named. And just like Necrozma it should have an ability that boosts the power of super effective attacks. It could be Dragon/Fairy since Fairy type is basically the Light type

its an idea but i don't think they should do it
I think they would remake them first because making a trilogy out of ds games wouldn’t work well since people can’t play the og games, they’d need to do a remake of the first games
How though?
I fully agree!! I LOVED that BW took such a bold risk to do what they did
Tell that to everyone on the internet when BW were at their prime and it felt like the majority of the fandom *SEVERELY AND UTTERLY DESPISED* using only new Pokémon and treated nearly the entire Unova roster as garbage
@@Zistheone2 it’s CRAZY that people didn’t like this IMO

My vision of the ideal Unova remakes would be a collection package similar to Sonic Origins in the sense that you get 2 campaigns for the price of one.
For example, one game would have Black and Black 2 sold together, while White and White 2 are sold alongside it. Black 2 or White 2 would be unlocked after completing the first game, and it could function as a New Game+, complete with the same trainer name and Trainer ID.

The Gen 6 style of Chibis were like the perfect mix especially with the worlds they surrounded. But for the switch games i think the LGPE games NAILED the look of a modern chibi style

For some of the B2W2 GYMs, what if we want to pull what the anime did and do the poison type gym instead of Drayden/Iris?

i agree that the lgpe art style is way more fitting as an art direction to take future pokemon games in if they insist on being 3d
but there's also something so charming about the sprite style that the ds pokemon games had, too
THANK YOU!!! IVE NEVER HEARD SOMEONE TALK GOOD ABOUT IT
I would love if Pokémon did their own take on the hd 2d style for gen 5 and keep the sprites from it, like I don’t see them doing it, but I feel like it would be perfect for gen 5 because of the 3D buildings and all that.
It being to the west of Castelia is perfect honestly.

before watching, i think a good idea of integrating bw with bw2 is to have a time travel function similar to the legend of zelda's ocarina of time. in oot, you play as young link (bw1) for about half the game and then eventually unlock the ability to time travel, letting you see new areas that have either been built up or degraded with age, similarly to how unova differs between the two games. having a place the player can go or an item to travel time would be an easy way for nintendo to combine the two games. maybe something like a hgss approach where after the e4 the player gets an item to go to kanto, they could get an item to let the player time travel forward 30 years
That would be a very very interesting idea, considering that GameFreak isn’t really shy to the whole idea of “Time Travel” I wonder if it’s something they’ll do
Doesn’t b2w2 only take place like 2 years after?
@@tippedjoshua6802 yeah so it'll be a bit different like i don't think you'll be playing as a young protagonist and then an old one but some of the cities and routes are drastically different between bw and bw2 i was just saying the map could change with an item similarly to how it does with the ocarina
@@alexandros5412 I just don’t think they would do it like that. Honestly I might even prefer if they just made it a separate game, like they would probably do more than what they would do with a dlc.
I think if game freak really tried, they can make black three white three, but I agree with you that it would be a lot more difficult to do that in comparison to just doing what I said
The Delta episode was an hour and they did faaaar more in BW2 than just a story. Again no. This is nothing like any other game in the past.
@@lillith7257 I think they could do it
what about a possible bw3? i think with the themes of gen 5 that would be the ideal way to go about it, set it 12 years or 13 after bw2 and move unova fowards instead of just doing a remake.

The original play through can have post game and you can still access to that save file after starting new game + as for the the player characters you can keep them separate this way.
That would be a cool way to go about it
This is too ambitious on game freaks part but I'd love a B/W3 where it takes place in the past and we dive deeper into the details of the original dragon and the two brothers.
As long as we change the title of BW3 to legends kyurem we’re good
They could also let you toggle if you want older Pokémon during the main story and then afterwards they could simply Spawn in all of the Pokémon that would have been there if you chose the other option. It's like the national Dex in Pokémon omega ruby and alpha sapphire.
That actually would be sick af

THATS THE MOST UNFORTUNATE AND REALEST COMMENT!!!!
Loved your video man, The one thing i wish but i know it will never happen is them going back to mega evolution and that whole concept well maybe one day for the future xy remakes.
I think that might be the only way we see megas return!!
I’ve heard a lot of people say that they should do the remakes like Octopath Traveler
I don’t understand why you would pick to start with which story… there’s a correct time line and u get nothing out of playing BW2 first
For me Game Freak should just take their time cooking with the remakes and release one full definitive edition game that contains the story of BW1 and BW2 as two different journeys.
Game freak taking their time is the best outcome for everyone
If im being honest...
I agree with pretty much everything you pointed out.
You clearly put a lot of thought into this, so yeah.
Have a good one!
Ayee im glad you agree and can see/understand the points i made!! You have a good one too!!!
This would honestly be very heartwarming

Teralistilizing and Megas would be cool.
In terms of art style, do Cel Shading. Make it ring closer to Sugimori's style. So the dark lines like the 3DS games.
Those two would be BUSTED, and thats a good take, Sugimoris style is fucking ICONIC
Sun and moon remakes are going to be INTERESTING TO SEE
I do agree with those ideas for Gen 5 remakes. Now I'll be honest I never played Gen 5. but one thing I do want to see in the remakes are getting Ribbons.
An underrated feature within those games

What about making a bw3 taking place 14 years after bw2? 2 points I have for this: 1 - by taking place 14y after bw2 we could include the blueberry academy and it’s trainers. 2- to support point #1, it is said that lacey is from nimbasa city, but she clearly has references to clay, so her mother can probably be elesa, and since the main character is now 11-12yo that makes lacey and the e4 13-14, which would give a good time frame for the relantionship of elesa and clay to come to fruition.
It’s not a bad idea but I don’t think these ideas need to be done only in BW3
Thats not a bad idea honestly!!!
THANK YOU!! This was an absolute treat of a comment to read!!! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!!!
@@EganMediaVideos You're welcome! I'm doing for seeing more videos like that!
There’s so many ways that the whole thing between black and white and the sequels could be done with the remakes but I think having the games without the inclusion of Nate and Rosa like your Kyurem episode idea would kind of make Nate and Rosa feel useless unless they’re a secret boss like Hilbert and Hilda were going to be, but what if you could swap between the different protagonists such as Hilbert to Nate or have Nate or Rosa be an npc alongside Hugh depending on which gender you choose (would be best for a Kyurem episode)
Or you could have the option of after you beat the game there’s a new option where if you press on it there’s literally the whole game of black 2 and white 2 remade and professor juniper shows up and you choose your character.
If game freak does remake these games I hope they’re creative on how they do it because they mean a lot to me and other unova fans but it’s trickier having a sequel instead of a third version though as long as they aren’t BDSP I’m happy
Edit: had to change my writing since it didn’t make sense and I added more
I hope they’re creative with it too honestly, that’s like the most I can PRAY FOR
How about combine them into single collections where one version has Black 1 and 2 and another has White 1 and 2
That could work too
I would honestly be fine with Black and White remakes that simply focus on being the best way to play Black and White, not worrying too much about being or surpassing their sequels (honestly I like the plot in BW much more than in B2W2, even if I agree that they compliment each other really well), but I'd like at least some hints by the end of the game, the "episode Kyurem" idea is really solid, but I'd be okay with smaller mentions, alluding to the memory link from B2W2, like maybe you'll be able to visit the new towns from B2W2 and challenge the new Gym leaders before they officially get recognized as Gym leaders, have scenes with Cheren saying he'd like to become a gym leader and inspire young trainers like Alder inspired him, have scenes with Lenora or the chef trio or Brycen saying how they'd like to step down as gym leaders to pursue their passions, hints at what will become B2W2, even if they don't really end up making B2W2 remakes in the end...

Honestly, you can finesse a timeskip with going to the blueberry academy and staying there for a year or two of ingame time, then return to mainland unova and see things have changed
That’s a very interesting idea!!!
"Hey, did you hear they're building a new school?"
"Yeah, I think it was called Blueberry Academy."
"I'm really looking forward to it, but I just have one question: The fuck is a blueberry?"
"No clue."
LMAOOOO THATS AMAZING
That would be sick!!
Gen 4 remakes were mainly made by ILCA, so the Gen 5 remakes will probably go along the lines of the previous 3.
Crossing my fingers
Regarding Hugh ... You could also show him with you not necessarily as a rival, but a guy you can battle once or twice before the post-game, before his sister's pokemon get lost. Consider him a normal NPC trainer... And then the post-game can be helping him
This is a good idea!!! I actually really like this
I was rather comically expecting the answer to be ''you can't'' XDDD
Great video!
Thank you so much!! Im glad you enjoyed the video!! And im so down for a Legends Kyurem
It might be cool to see Hughes sister from BW2 become your rival in the remakes

I don't care much for the art style of modern mainline Pokemon games. You're right that the Let's Go games are the best looking ones on the Switch. I just think the more cartoony art style fits Pokemon so much better. I know it'll never happen but I wish the games would go back to using sprites. Imagine a Pokemon game that looked like Octopath Traveler! But if they're going to stay with 3D models then I prefer the LGPE look.
I'm really happy that someone else agrees with me on this take!! It's not one i hear often or even at all so I'm really glad to see it be appreciated
You got some good ideas yourself!!!
I think it’ll be until Gen 6 remakes for when we see Megas Return. But don’t get me wrong, ID LOVE FOR THEM TO RETURN
I’m down for black 3 and white 3. Don’t ask me what it would be like, I don’t get paid enough for that
And it’s cause of that reasoning that I don’t want BW3, I’m not gonna be making a cent off this video!!
Imagine if they do the region and then the sequel content in dlc.
Thats an idea!!!
The only thing I can genuinely see them doing is taking Gen 5 and putting it into a format that they know

My best guess is that ILCA will make faithful remakes of the first BW games, while Game Freak will make Black & White 3: which will be an original story that includes elements from both Gen 5 games, but at the same time feel like remakes at their core since they follow similar beats to the original BW games
BW3 would be a HORRIBLE idea, I have yet to here a good plot idea for BW3

1. Be in Bw1 unova as Hilbert or Hilda
2. Be in modern-day bw2 unova as Hilbert and hilda and
3 after doing that delta episode like part you can now play as Nate or rosa and explore the region with Hugh like in bw2 but this time alongside Cherin Hilbert or Hilda will be there to lend a hand like how things played out in the extra episode!
I know thisll never happen but this would be the ideal remake situation for me!
Sorry for typos and such it's like 2:30 in the morning and I'm exhausted 😅
hope bw remakes are actually sequels taking place 10+ years after bw2
If that’s the case then they’d just be sequels… not remakes…
@@EganMediaVideos you know what I mean😭
If we are having Unova/Gen 5 remake, we need remake for both Black & White and also Black 2 & White 2. Unova is not complete without B2W2.
I completely agree that we should introduce details from B2W2 in the BW remake.
Thank you!!!
I think the original dragon would be better suited for a Legends Kyurem kind of game IMO :0
I think they should just put both remakes on one cart. After you beat BW B2W2 get unlocked at the title screen
That’s so counter productive in terms of gameplay
This is EXACTLY what I want for these remakes
