Thank you for saving this architectural gem for the world. Frank Lloyd Wright is one of my favourite after Vitruvius and Palladio. He was a visionary, if i ever get America again, I would like to take my family to the Guggenheim. Wishing everyone health and happiness for now and always, love from England.
Living in beaufort sc at the time, I actually had the privilege to work at this masterpiece. Very breath taking! Back at the time joel had a mini zoo. Very awesome. Pics dont do justice. This was back in 03..04.
I hope he is as cool as he seems. What a wonderful thing to do with one's money. Historic Preservation is very important I think, as long as we don't continue to destroy ourselves & the planet.
Joel Silver god bless you for bringing back some of Wrights work .If more kids played with the blocks that Wright had as a kid I bet we would of gotten more of these masterpieces of architecture, like wow so cooooooooooooooool.
So beautiful.... I have always wanted to just stay in one of his homes and photograph it for a week... some day... I have always loved falling waters but I think this one just stole my heart💜
I love all his house designs. I love that there are people who have the passion and resources to restore and maintain his creations. It's too bad he designed and built them before technology was available to build them has he intended. Most of his homes and buildings need constant maintenance to keep them standing. It's like as if the Mona Lisa was painted on a thin piece paper and then expect it to last. Beautiful, yes. Practical? Maybe not.
Joel Silver also restored the John Storer House, c1923 in Hollywood and also by Wright. With both of these houses, he went beyond what had originally been built to fully realize Wright's complete design. Then he built a rather boring house by Ricardo Legorreta.
Wright was a pure genius, one of the four outstanding creative geniuses of our age: Vincent Van Gogh, Frank Lloyd Wright, Gene Kelly, and Paco de Lucia.
If you have ever been in one of his buildings, there is a feeling of rightness, everywhere. This video gives you a taste of that. He had his things. For example, being a tiny man, his buildings tend to have narrow halls and lower dimensions than large Americans might be used to. But that is a small price to pay. He still has no equal.
I practically worship Wright, he was brilliant, but canted walls with swinging doors? On occasion, his clients simply gave him too much leeway and this was one of those times.
Because some humans have an incredible amount ofbwealth and they can afford a ridiculously decadent home while others through no fault of their own are starving and their homes are being destroyed in the pursuit of natural resourses resulting in insane wealth at the cost of insane misery. This can't be how we as humans should live together on thie once beautiful planet. ❤️🙏🙏🙏❤️ Great architecture evokes deep emotional responses....
There are some that are poor to no fault of their own, absolutely true. There are also some that are poor due to their own chooses. There are some that deserve every penny of luxury they enjoy. Apparently life’s not fair.
What an inspiring way to use your money!! Great job - it. looks. fabulous!! Come see our BachmanHouse in Bentonville Arkansas sometime-at Crystal Bridges. It is a close relative to your home!!

Fortuitous that Silver could have saved it----even if just for the sake of the materials. Still, flat, low houses that sprawl are a BORE, redolent of airport, waiting rooms, lounges, et al. The handicapped can be supplied with lifts.....or merely remain on the "ground" floor. Hectares of roof surface to maintain and countless trees whacked for a "busy" interior....
"My Haven" video. Neat house, I think... Way too fast panning back and forth, literally becoming nauseous! Talking heads, a very effective way to showcase a FLW house.
Her marvelous renderings of Wright's designs undoubtedly gave his work a look of refinement that few others could match. But her contribution to the actual building designs has never been clearly demonstrated. Furthermore, the designs she had full responsibility for can't be proven to be without influence. Understand, almost no architect works without stealing a huge amount from others, so it is not an insult to point it out. It is just recognizing the difficulty to assign originality to pieces. The work I've seen of hers, and those she did in collaboration with her husband, was not as good as Wrights. It used the same outward forms, but the plans did not share the same philosophies.
I would not mind. In fact, I would enjoy it. Have you not had alligator nuggets. Breaded and deep fried they are very good. Judging from the surrounding area you could have them when ever you wanted. :)
Silver has 2 of his houses and uses his logo on one of the bricks on his own house for branding Silver Productions. Silver surely loves Wright and rightly so! ( see what l did there)! 🤪 I’m in lockdown 🤦🏾♀️
John Wayne, Your opinion is not what it's all about! Since you don't "get" it just move on without comment. Do you think the Mona Lisa or Eiffel Tower etc. are a "waste" of money? Of what possible merit are your opinions worth? It just makes YOU look petty, unsophisticated, uninformed, and immature. We don't need your approval to like something as I hope you aren't affected us not agreeing something you value. Duh...
A shame that only mega millionaires can afford to keep these houses standing. That's what happens when a very small number of people steal most of the world's wealth.
bob733333 I guess he didn’t earn it. Working 80 hours per week for 40 years and a guy has more than you. This means he stole what he has. The stink think that destroys a country right there.
Steal? The guy makes movies. Millions of people choose to buy tickets to see his films. Nobody forces them. That's what capitalism does, it puts products on the market, and people either decide to buy them, or they don't. Products that get bought are followed by more that are like them. Ones that nobody wants don't continue to get made. People want the products and freely give their money to acquire them. No force, or cheating is involved. Both sides are happy with the transaction.
The folks who did all the work on it were happy to be employed. The man who's money it was, was happy to spend it on a project that he was passionate about.

Clever in every way
I echo that!
Another great FLW design! I’m glad that mr. Silver rescued and restored these beautifully designed buildings!
This is wealth being used in a great way and that is why I have no problem with people having it.
Frank is smiling upon you for carrying on his name and legacy. you are a true asset and inspiration to all

So sad it fell into disrepair, but happy this masterpiece of architectural design has been restored.

I miss Charles Osgood's voice. I just want to make lunch for him and talk all day.

Awesome Observation!
Never cared for his movies let alone viewed any portion of one but I appreciate what he's done with Frank's building
You've never seen Roadhouse? Die Hard? He was even in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
I don't believe you.
Wright was a pure genius, one of the four outstanding creative geniuses of our age: Vincent Van Gogh, Frank Lloyd Wright, Gene Kelly, and Paco de Lucia.
So thrilled that he saved this masterpiece.
Most wonderful...I'd love to see this in greater detail.
What a Rustic beauty!

5'7"-5"8" is tiny?
Beautiful job of restoring this house.
The design of that home is perfect for that landscape! Wright will always live on!
Mister Silver... I love you, man!
Doing exactly what I want to do... Except it's not Buckminster Fuller.
A beautiful work of art
Leadership! Excellence! Awesome Observation!
I swear some of Wright's structures could start their own religion.
BRAVO!
And thanks!
I hope there aren't any flooding potentials to be if concern.
The landscape is breathtaking!
Lovely. Thank you.
This is not the first time Silver has saved a Wright home.
Great documentary!
Incredible project, so awesome
Man, those trees are amazing.
Great piece of American history restored how can someone abandon flw works
Interesting but MSM always gets a thumb down.
If Mr. Frank was here today I would want him to design my first house.
And thank you Frank Lloyd Wright.
Thank God for wealthy people with artistic hobbies.
I practically worship Wright, he was brilliant, but canted walls with swinging doors? On occasion, his clients simply gave him too much leeway and this was one of those times.
Astonishing!!!
Lovely and inviting. Unique.
Beautiful job
Thank The Lord for Mr Joal Silver.
Nice work
How beautiful!
Awesome!
I wish I could own one of his buildings
I was expecting a tour of rooms. Maybe some before and afters. Not so much chit chat with owner. Or so many land shots.
We need to search for longer video on it 👍🏽👍🏽
Fabulous!

Amazing
That was very very short. Please produce a longer video with more details.
Bravo!
I'm guessing Open Land Trust property abuts Silver's property.
[wood]...ground into dust, add a binder...careful on the stir...watch closely (for the 2nd binder substance)...customize your soul...
It's beautiful

Dont forget that Marion Mahoney Griffin is the only reason Frankie got anywhere.

Who would want to live near swamp with snakes and alligators?..love the architecture

You are both correct lol. Psychopaths are 1% of the population and that includes thieves of every race and socio economic level and background.

Tammy Anderson Parker Go be creative. Go make something. Contribute. Quit taking.
It is gorgeous, but my practical sense says. What a waste of money.
