I understand it’s not always about the money but nurses deserve SO much more. The work load is absolutely ridiculous. These hospitals are making billions and nurses need to fight for what they deserve. I don’t think nurses should be settling for the bare minimum.
Salary transparency is so important for us nurses so I respect you so much for that! I was getting paid $23/hr as a staff nurse in DC. I’m now a traveler in Colorado making $2300/wk. The opportunities/contracts are out there! I can’t believe RNs are making less than that, they deserve so much more!
I love this video, I BLAME these social media influencers that are telling other nurses that if they don’t make atleast 5k per week, they shouldn’t take it. Like 5,7,10k per week was unrealistic and unsustainable for the hospitals. But these nurses are acting like that’s the only thing they care for. Thank you for these tips for these nurses that they need to keep being professional as this is a career not just a JOB.
As a season traveler I agree 1000%. I was traveling way before COVID so the brief period of COVID pay was great but unrealistic. I think people who jumped in for the pay was great. Get it while you can. I know people that paid off a lot of debt and was able to put money in their savings.
Nurses should be making way more. The hospitals can afford to pay more. Have you looked at CEO salary? COO salary etc. Please don’t tell nurses they can’t impact their rates. That’s just not true negotiation is a thing. If the rates are to low walk away, they will get the picture
Good video, the best decision I made as a RN nurse was to create a side hustle for extra income streams. It has really helped me and my family financially stable.

Such an informative video. Im not a nurse, but my brother is in the recruiting and staffing business in another industry and is about to expand into travel nursing. I have witnessed the way he fights for his employees higher rates, and I am soooo excited to jump into the business with him and learning this industry. I see how he offers competitive rates for his employees in the industry he’s in, and how it positively impacts their life. I am soooo looking forward to it 🤗. When I read stories such as yours & the ppl in the comments, I get even more motivated. (and no, this comment isn’t spam)
Lolaaaaa! I love your videos. I am in my second year of nursing school and I know traveling is something I see myself doing. I appreciate all your real information and your knowledge. I am so inspired by you and congrats on buying a house!
I will begin my prerequisites in my nursing program in the Fall 2023 semester. I am getting into travel nursing because I enjoy traveling and helping people. I’m good with $2000 a week from the agency I decided to work with. What I’m saying is although salary is Important, I’m doing this for experience.
Thanks Beebee for your advice, thoughts for travel nurse. I love your videos. Yes, girl missed you for a while there. Glad your back. I’m studying for my associates degree in nursing. I’ve been a CMA for 15 years now. I love what I do. Helping others & socializing with staff & patients. I look forward to a new journey in travel nursing after my 2 years in hospital. Thanks again. Lola. Your dog Lola is so cute. OH MY GOD . Blessings. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😘
honestly if the travel contract is 3K + per week its not too bad. But personally I hope the rate will not go below 3K. and hospital staff nurse should get pay at least 50 dollars an hour.
Hospitals have changed after Covid and nursing is picking up the slack for a lot of missing resources. But I do agree with you that we shouldn’t get greedy either. The real mistake is that we let these hospitals buy us off to work under terrible conditions.
North East is the best Travel Nurses I worked with up here were doing over $2k (take home after taxes) a week. However the rates are down you are correct. So many nurses quit and RAN. $10k a week ha ha what!!! Nope, correct you're on point.
If you called the hospital and ask for the director of the department or HR , they will tell you for the most part. Or if you have a recruiter who works with a direct agency you can have them go on a haunt for you for the hospital you want.
Social media is a lie. Nurses on social media are like they make 350k-450k every year doing travel. I am like howwww coz the rates that I am getting offered is like 1800-2800 every week.
I wanna become CNA but I have a question, do you have to get covid , flu, influenza and other vaccines to work as a cna or nurse in different facilities? will I be able to avoid shots or it is part of the job? thank you for answering
I recently started thinking about becoming an RN. Would you recommend Lpn first or straight to RN. Being a traveling nurse would be so awesome!! Thank you for the video! 😎
So do you think in 6 years (i know you aren’t the answer wizard) - but in 6 years do you think we could have $4,500 take home money a week? If it’s in the long, high paid contracts
So I’m not a nurse but a travel X-ray tech. LOLAAA! Quick question, when you say a local contract v travel contract, what do you mean? Is that like a Travel nurse but in your own state? Please explain, thank you!!
A local contract means you live within 50 miles. With a local contract you can work at a hospital up the street from you. You get paid hourly and no stipends.
@@beebeeberlucern2464 do you get more as a local contract than staff nurses? I really appreciate the comment about buying a house and having a higher taxable rate. This never occurred to me.
Hi I’m a highschool student considering this career. So when you were talking about the main agency’s with the hospital and then all the others, were you saying that the others go through the main agency teamed with that hospital? I’m not sure if I’m expressing my question the best way lol
I would honestly focus on school and get a regular nursing job first. You will not be hired as a travel nurse if you have not worked for 1-2 years as a staff nurse first. You have to work as a travel nurse in the field of nursing that you have worked in.
Do you have any advice on building confidence as a nurse? I made a med error in nursing school (10 years ago), had a few years of experience, then was out of the field for about 8 years now. I am trying to get back into it but my confidence is at ground zero.
Honestly you just have to get back in the field and start working. I have been a nurse for 10yrs and my greatest fear is still medication errors. I use this fear to double and triple check my meds, right pts etc. The more you do it, the more comfortable you will become. All the best.
I was out of the field 8 years being a stay at home mom, (worked 8.5 years before that). I was scared to go back and had lost confidence but I just forced myself and my confidence and grown everyday and I love my work and my career again.
I'm a recruiter and nurses don't understand that COIVD rates do not exist anymore. I have much respect for RN's but you have RN's if its not 5K or more they don't want it.

Honestly don’t think a lot of medical professionals should settle for these crappy salaries.
Well stated. The point of view of “nurses have no power or say in the matter” is an opinion based on personal experience. Not a fact.
