    My 56 had more and supposedly the last two sellers said it ran. 2 sellers said ran and stopped, last seller (flipper) said "we got it running and it smokes a lot". I had more of that black sludge, but mine was a little more liquid.

    Kitty lacshop manual actually said to remove and clean the oil pan On a yearly basis

    Earlier in video you said you will paint those areas on the crossmember when you remove engine...wouldn’t it just have been easier to remove oil pan when you remove engine and replace oil pan gasket at that time? Unless you’re not going to remove engine then I understand. But sounds like more work than needed.

      Yes definitely easier to remove the pan with the engine out.
      The reason I've removed the pan now is just to clean it. I was expecting a lot more sludge and debri but as it wound up...it wasn't bad.
      I'm planning to start the engine and let it run a while to check some things out and didn't want to risk a clogged oil pump
