  • Slow living can be hard in our modern world. At least that's what I am experiencing on my journey towards a more slow and simple life. In this video I share with you why I want to live this kind of lifestyle and where it all began. I also go over some of the obstacles that I face everyday that make slowing down difficult at times.
If you'd like I would be so happy to get some feedback from you! Is slow living something you are pursuing aswell? Where are you on your journey and what are some challenges that you face?
Thank you for being here and see you very soon! :)

Life has become very demanding for all of us, and I think majority of people on this earth have become mindlessly chasing after something. We rush everything. We think that life is something we achieved instead of something we experience. I want to slow down and to experience every thing as genuinely as possible may that be savoring every taste of my meal, gazing into the sunset, breathing air, taking each walk. I just want to feel everything, to genuinely be present in the moment.

You put it perfectly and I completely agree! Life can be super hard and we have to tick a lot of boxes in our everyday life. I feel that being aware of what you would like to change and live like already is a huge step in the right direction ☺ I hope that you will find and live the life that is right for you. All the best and have a great day 🙏

I have a pretty slow life. But I WISH my time at work would go as fast as his day goes. With my job a lot of times it drags too slowly.

I totally agree with you the modern life today is very stressful with meeting zoom group chats. I also tried to disconnect by hearing music, putting a candle You really encourage me with all your tips of slower lifestyle . Thank you.

I'm devouring your videos. I really like them. I also live in the countryside and have never enjoyed living in a city. I want to reduce my hours like you in a few years.

In addition to your Walks, Tending the Garden and Reading may I recommend writing each morning whatever thoughts come into your mind. This is a great clearing for the mind, and gets all those random thoughts out of your mind and onto the paper. The page can then be torn up or burnt and discarded. Some people write 3 pages a day. Some people do it twice a day. A Harvard study proved that people who write contemplatively or expressively [getting the thoughts out of the mind] improve their immune systems!

I can totally relate to this! Although I‘ve been able to incorporate many aspects of a slower pace into my life, I would like to move even more into this direction. I feel like many work environments make this really difficult though…but there‘s still so much you can do🙏

There are two memories that bubbled up in my awareness. First off, the two occasions I unknowingly slept in public transportation with my head on a stranger's shoulder. The experience was the oddest I've had in my almost two decades of commuting in the city. It was both total blackout and refreshing; it puzzles me even today. The second is a question my then 4 year old son asked me: "Mamma, why does time fly quickly when I am enjoying myself?" It is over a year now since he drove by at 1 a.m. to take me for a ride in his fast car. He'd just bought the car in under 24 hours. He said he and his friends had their turn at drifting earlier at the parking lot of the ski resort. My heart swelled with joy because he saved the last ride for me. He drove like it was the German autobahn not a country road and scared the hell out of me. Then he slowed the pace on the way back to my house to show and explain the features of the car on the screen. He either started or punctuated his sentences with Mamma. I fortunately took footage of that momentous occasion. I watch it now and then and tell myself he sounds like the small boy (in a bigger version) who asked that 3D question to me.

    What is your audio equipment?
Just a simple RODE mic that you attach to your shirt?

I see you’ve discovered the meaning of life. If you ever have children you will see that they always want to stop and smell the flowers. The best thing we can all do to make the world a better place is to not rush them.
