Great video G! I live in Banbury on the Chiltern Line and (maybe I’m biased but) I have to say it’s the nicer of the two lines from Birmingham down to London, with some really pretty places including Hatton, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Banbury, Haddenham & Thames and Princes Risborough - if ever you get the opportunity to go from Birmingham Moor Street down to London Marylebone I’d highly recommend it. There’s also a branch line to Stratford Upon Avon with direct trains to London. A few of the stations on the Chiltern mainline have retained their ‘heritage’ aesthetics, resembling stations of bygone eras. I’ve never explored Haddenham & Thame myself but it is the gateway to the Chiltern Hills, which is a stunning area of outstanding natural beauty. Worth exploring if ever you’re in the area again!
We really enjoyed watching this and we love your random station vlogs.
Please continue the good work and Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks!
Great vlog G. When I saw the thumbnail if you I recognised it as a chiltern 68 so I knew there was probably 3 different opinions on the CML. I have been to Haddenham & Thame parkway in November 2022 as I’m currently trying visit every station on the CML. It’s a nice little station perfect for filming them Chiltern 68s at speed too.
Ah nice! Yes it does seem a good station for filming, thanks Sam 👍
Thanks for the video G,Beautiful trains, and station with a building from the 80s. The nature reserve looks beautiful are there any snakes 🐍 🙂!!😎🚉🚉🚉🚉🇬🇧
The current Bakerloo trains are probably my favorite ungerground stock. I like the combination of cross-bench and foward/backward facing seating and the old No Smoking signs in the carriages, plus how they rattle along. I know that they'll be replaced in the next decade or so, which is good because they are showing their age, but I will be a tiny bit sad when that happens.
I use Chiltern to get from Birmingham-London, as it works out cheaper than Avanti West Coast and is just far more relaxing. The 168s are really comfortable.
A good day then exploring London's transport, then a cheeky pint in Marylebone's Victoria & Albert before a train home!
Yes! I guessed the destination before you even left Euston!!!
Great vlog as always. Marylebone is not really that rare for a London terminal station to have one operator. Fenchurch Street has C2C only. Whilst both Charing Cross and Cannon Street stations are both Southeastern trains only. And Waterloo has Southwestern trains only.
I used to work near Marylebone - it’s the nicest of London’s termini. Always wanted to take a train from there but never have so thanks for taking us with you!
Haha no worries
I really enjoyed watching your videos I love trains xx
Thanks glad to hear!
The Bakerloo Line does also need a massive upgrade and to replace the 1972 Stock as the Piccadilly Line is getting new tube stocks to replace the 1973 Stock.
And London Marylebone station is still a pretty good station with Network Southeast still there. Overall Haddenham and Thame Parkway station is quite nice and I have been to Oxfordshire many times.
Haha, you got me as soon as i saw Marylebone i thought High Wycombe 😂
Gotta love London Underground, and the 1972 Bakerloo line trains.
Just a shame they look so shabby now!
Great video G.
Cheers!
Bakerloo Line has 1972 Stock, the oldest on the Underground.
The London underground in ,peak hour is empty one minute and full just before the train pulls in, The H Station is a nice Station so thanks for another great Random Station Vlog, and a pleasant G that go's with it , that do's deserve a like 👍hope you have a stress free evening keep dry if you too have to put up with this rainy day, take Care
Yes had headache from the rain yesterday 😂 thanks!
Another fantastic Vblog so gripping to find out where u end up nice place that was cheers G 👍 🙂
Was certain it was going to be High Wycombe when you got to Marylebone. Haddenham and Thame looks beautiful.
I was expecting Hatton.
@nendwr isn't that north of Warwick?
A lot further than the 1 hour 20 minutes clue at the start.
I have to say that Haddenham and Thame Parkway station is quite a nice little railway station that serves Haddenham and Thame. And both villages used to have their own railway stations.
Before they closed and were replaced by Haddenham and Thame Parkway. I also have been on Chiltern Railways and their trains are very clean and reliable.
Hi G, pleased you enjoyed your random "aitch" visit, when you get the chance go visit Thame itself, a pretty country town and one of my relations is buried there. She was evacuated there during WW2 and stayed there after the war. Thanks for sharing and take care. Jon B.
I like this random station format!
Thanks 👍
2:12 So as soon as you said Marylebone, I had two stations in mind
3:59 That kinda confirms my suspicion on which two it might be
5:25 It is a very good station to spot at as well; kinda reminds me I need to do a Chiltern Mainline showcase at some point
Yes plenty of trains there and lots of space to film!
Great video G. Used to travel from Marylebone to Wendover a lot in the late 80s. Brought back memories.
One station I still need to visit. I was going to try and do it last week when staying with my partner, but my old railcard had expired and my new one hadn't arrived yet, so I didn't.
I know the feel of that! 😂
marleybone brings back memories been years since i used it regularly cheers g
Cheers!
Super vid of what looked a nice place 😃
Thanks!
Great Video G, the Bakerloo Line is 1972 Tube Stock trains but that station beginning with H used to be single track when opened but thanks to a project in 1998, it became double track
Thanks for that! And cool couldn't imagine it being single track 😆
Yeah, the whole line from there up to Banbury was single track and run down. Now look at it & how busy it is, so weird to think
The oldest trains running not including heritage after withdrawal of i believe 58 stock from isle of Wight
@@mbradfield53 1938 Stock, Those were the units on the Isle of Wight before the D78 Stock came along
@@kevinfitzpatrick444 if they hadn’t cut some of the other branches coming off of Oxford, I wonder how busy they’d be now…
Wow, that class 168 looked rather decent for a 20 year old unit, what an excellent find for an H station! Appreciate you sharing your journeys with us, glad you didn't get yourself lost down in the Tube like I might do.
Thanks and ye its easily done 😂
Another lovely video. Many thanks!
Cheers!
A Random Railway station. That sounds like a good idea... 😀
Hey 👋
Such beautiful greenery and flowing water!!! So refreshing!!! 😎
Hey 👋
Random Tip: Figure out if you should walk to Euston Square before getting on the tube at Euston. It is like 3mins walk from the outside area you were at.
I'd have recommended.
1: 3min walk to Euston Square.
2. Tube to Baker Street.
3. 6min walk to Marylebone.
The map was down the escalators so just looked when I was down there 😂
I like random train journeys plan to somewhere and end up somewhere totally different 😂
Great song..🤣
This is a nice alternative route between London and Scaremingham if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Euston and Scaremingham New Street
I' wonder how Snakemoor Nature Reserve got its name. Did you encounter any snakes there ?
Ye it was a nice journey back up the line as well, and didn't see any snakes no 😂
One of the platforms of the old Haddenham station was still there a few years ago, don’t know if it still is.
You were actually at the second Haddenham & Thame Parkway Station. When the station was originally built the line had been singled, so only one platform was built. A few years later it was decided to restore the double track, but the station platform was in the way, so it had to be demolished and two new platforms built.
Some of the Chiltern Birmingham services are worked by a class 68 locomotive, Mk. 3 carriages and a DVT. Unfortunately, the morning trains from London to Birmingham Moor Street which I use a few times each year no longer seem to use these.
Marylebone is now the only London main line terminus which is not electrified.
Inside the ticket gates at Marylebone, close to platform 1, a statue has recently been installed of Adrian Shooter, the founder of Chiltern Railways.
Euston to Marylebone? I'm not from london, but I would use Shank's pony...
I knew it was Haddenham the minute you said Marylebone, but somehow the possibility of it being High Wycombe didn't twig on me until you said there's two station beginning with H on the line.
I miss living in London. Of course, I might be crazy, but it's way more interesting than here in the US, and I especially miss the trains.
Hi G very nice to see the return of the random station i haven't heard of this station before so thank you for the incredible vlog❤
Thanks, me neither but wanna go back!
Hello Sister G - from your thumbnail, I thought you had joined the sisters in the convent - I have friends of my family back home in Ireland who are Nuns, so it’s not a bad thing 🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Similarly I only tuned in because I thought she’d become a nun
Great video those 168s sound great looks like a peaceful place there
A fun fact, Bakerloo lines are the 72 stock and the oldest rolling stock operating in the UK excluding heritage railways
Technically the 73s on the Piccadilly are older but only because the majority of the Bakerloo stock is the mark 2, based on the 72 design but buit in 75/76. Definitely feels muxh older though.
@ 6:46 you're a blimin' nutter as usual GT lol....Great Vlog again. Kudos for the laughs and informative trip.
Great video. Pity cant do that here as only 2 towns have suburban rail 😅 oh well least I can watch them
Go past behind work
i guessed Haddenham the second you said Marylebone LOL
Lol 😂
Hi G cracking love your singing x
Thanks!
G , you need to look at the London bus map in the future, you could have got a bus directly opposite Euston station to Marylebone / Landmark Hotel. Nice ride, only about 10 mins outside rush hour 👍👍
Always fun to ride a train to a unknown destination, that was cool GLoves. Thanks!! That kind of wood reminds me of Kent Ohio in the USA 😉😄😊👍
Haha thanks!
Always fun with your train vids. Are planning to do some of the scenic routes of Norway one day? The Oslo-Bergen line will be getting brand new Flirt Nordic Express trains possibly in 2026!
Ooo yes please! 😄
Great video
Brilliant video, of course you needed a wee, lol...yayy the knickers song lol
cool..... were back on this adventure game
I lived in Bicester and used Bicester North
to get into London or go to Birmingham
Haddenham and Thame Parkway was built when
the line was single track and it was a bottleneck
in the service so they had to rebuild the station to
allow it to have two lines - which meant a lot of extra trains.
Beetroot sandwiches 😋 has to be my favourite too, and such a lovely place 👍
Yummy!
I've never been to this station. It's one of these parkway stations that was built in the 1980s.
Take a trip to the Republic of Ireland sometime.
Nice video G
That was a nice easy one G. Would you really have gone to Haltwhistle if it came up or do you limit the distance?
I put all UK stations in
Could have been Helmsdale…. A very long way from Euston
Great video! I enjoyed this one!
Nice to see you ride more of the Turbostars, too! They're definitely great trains with them being comfortable and nice to ride on!
Ye they really are! Thanks Reece 😄
I do have to say it - the interior on that 168 was a bit swish, wasn't it? Very nice indeed! God, I love UA-cam - at the precise moment you were gonna do the big reveal of the sign at your random station, they pick that moment to run an ad! 🤣
Haha ye whats it like 😛
At least for purposes of getting home afterwards you didn't end up going to Havant or Hilsea
Oohhhhh you rebel!!!
Just as you were about to tell us it went to a commercial sigh
What a great idea have u considered doing the UK capital cities in 24hrs , I am planning on doing it next year
another great video i had never heard of that station lol
Thanks 😊
What a lovely place, well done random station generator
Beautiful!
Hello G your videos are so amazing i have started to travel on the trains by myself but i have new onto your channel but keep on being amazing 👍
Thanks Josh!
I was convinced I was in First Class with those seats the first time I used Chiltern, and had to walk up and down the carriages to prove to myself that it really was Standard! :)
Haha ye so nice!
Haddenham? Phew! You're lucky you didn't end up in Hedinburgh or Haberdeen... ;p
Hi G, Watched several of your videos and have learned alot about the UK train system. Really enjoyed your Spanish train vlogs. Being from Canada, I'm wondering what you mean when you put underwear "knickers" on your head and say 'Squishy Babies'?
Thanks! I wanna go Canada 🇨🇦
I'm from the UK and I certainly don't understand the relevance of knickers either. I'm slightly surprised that she didn't reply to your puzzlement with an explanation instead of giving you a glib pro Canada comment.
I've been tricked seeing High Wycombe on the ticket thinking that's where you were heading 😅😪
Blimey could you see that! 😂
Hey 👋 😮
GLoves Trains, have you ever been on a train that missed your Destination Station ? I learned that the Driver received a Formal Written Warning.
Thats my daily commute station you walked past my office building :D
Haha nice!
Should have gone to Euston Square and caught the Circle, H & C or Metropolitan Line train to Baker Street, then the Bakerloo, though I'd have just caught the18 bus frpm Euston!
Interesting game to play although I was actually brought here by the thumbnail . . . . A NUN? Onna Train?
Happy wanderings?
I did a double-take at my local Asda yesterday as two nuns got out of a Vauxhall Zafira...!
@@iana6713 TWO nuns? Or was it a Zinfandel breakfast? 🍹🍹

@@jeffreycrawley1216 There's a small convent not too far away so I guess they were on a resupply mission!
Wish it was hendon
H stations like Hastings Hereford Harrogate but you choose London stations with h 🤔
Another great video, but I have to ask .. Would you really have gone to ANY station beginning with H ?
It looks as if Helmsdale in the far NE corner of Scotland would have been the furthest one .. leaving Euston at about 10:00 you probably wouldn't have arrived there until breakfast time the following morning
Phew id have probs had to have split it into 2 parts then 😂
I imagine the BakerLOO line is the last one you want to travel on if you're anxious to pay a visit.
😂😂
Thought you might be coming up to Hull on one of the Hull Trains to London and back for a moment when the H landed! What a great spot you found there with that little nature reserve! Have a great week!!!
Haha ye glad I went where I did! 😂
Great video! The random generator always brings up the prettiest places. I've never heard of Haddenham & Thame Parkway, but that makes sense since I also don't know much if at all about Chiltern.
Thanks! Same here 😆
Awesome Video G Loves Trains 😄😄
Brilliant video G, I don't think I've heard of this station before, it does sound more peaceful than London though lol.
Really was!
What camera is it you use? looks to me like it’s a DJI pocket 3 but I’d be curious if I’m correct.
Yes you are correct 👍
Hey G, was wondering what camera and microphone do you use?
Dji pocket osmo 3
@@GLovesTrains cheers
Lucky to find such a beautiful nature reserve from your random station, great video as always 😀
Very pretty place 😄
Haddenham & Thame Parkway def looks like a lovely station & the area is lovely & its a shame Thame is a bit of a trek to get to as the Town of Thame is lovely as i passed through there & been past the station on the bus earlier this year when i travelled from Oxford to Aylesbury & def Buckinghamshire is a lovely county & i like the Chiltern 168s they are great & ive ridden a few brilliant vlog
Great vlog! What's weird is that earlier today, I was standing on the exact same spot as your intro filming an intro for my future vlog. How funny 😁
Oi that's my spot! 😛😂
@@GLovesTrains🤷♀️ it was raining and it was the only covered spot!
Hiya, your channel is my inspiration for my channel!
Hiya! I like your rhyming name 😄
Wow alot of things was built back then then, Brightons palace pier just celebrated its 125th anniversary too on may 20th. Such as peaceful station you got, unlike the busy London ones 😄
It is 1 of the smallest stations in London 😂😂😂
Nice one! 😄
I'm fairly new to this channel, so could somebody explain what the story is behind the "knicker" references? To me, as a noob, it seems quite strange.
Not sure any of us know 😂😂😂
Does she shout Squishy boobies or squishy babies? I can't make it out.
Knickers are a UK term for panties 😊
And sticking underpants on your head is a fairly common piece of tomfoolery.
Good video G, the Bakerloo Line is a 1972 tube stock begging with H
As soon as you said you'd be travelling from Marylebone, I knew it would be Haddenham & Thame Parkway - even though I forgot that High Wycombe station was called that rather than just Wycombe
Is it not quicker to just walk from Euston to Marylebone rather than getting the tube?
No clue i honestly didn't know where Marylebone was 😂
You did that ad break point deliberately didn't you?
I knew itd be Haddenham & Thame Parkway ;)
(i actually guessed it lmao)
Haha nice 😄
Great video why do you always ait facing backwards on trains i hate doing that makes me feel queezy
Got used to it now 😂
You would’ve picked Hull or Harrogate which is in Yorkshire and that starts with H
Brilliantly
Enjoyed your video G. As a previous commenter has said, you could have walked from Euston to Marylebone Station. It's more or less on the same road going west from Euston and it would have taken you 10-15 minutes.
Thanks, I went down to look at the map as didn't know where it was 😂
You'd have been better either walking or getting the 18/205 bus between Euston and Marylebone rather than going via Oxford Circus.. Or get the tube to Baker Street and walk to Marylebone.. All easier than what you did...
