Love when that bass comes in! I remember my freshman year in college with this girl blasting it from her dorm room across the way to the other dorm and it was reverberating off the walls. I knew I was gonna love college life!
I actually own the snare drum Paicey used for this show. Their gear was en route to Illinois and they flew in to Barrie to support the Live 8 effort. My friend the late great Paul Frederick (RIP) of Pearl asked if Ian could use my cherished snare - an Ian Paice signature model. Of course the answer was a resounding yes! it was a great show. And no, the drum is not, nor ever will be for sale :)
I like the Deep Purple group lineup but except for Steve Morrissey he has his own twists to and I don't like it twist to Smoke on the Water I like more of Ritchie Blackmore style a plain or I would have loved to see what's his name the other good guitar player I can't think of his name but Steve Morrissey I was no fan of his I didn't like the way he played in the Deep Purple songs
I love these guys. I made recordings like this. With my Mobile Recording Truck, also. And you can hear. He's got no real-time digital processing running on his vocal microphone. How come? Oh? It's almost 20 years ago. Before we ever had that stuff running in real time on Digital Mixers. How stupid of me? That's what he sounds like crap. He's an old man and can't hit the high notes anymore. And the guys don't know to tune their guitars, one note down. You still play them the same way. And then he'll be able to hit the high notes. But you have to tweak your electronic tuners for that offset. Oh well? Nobody thought to do that. So he has herniated his testicles. You could hear it. In his pain. It sounds painful. And a fire in this guy. Without his Preparation-H. At this age. It sounds painful. And that was almost 20 years ago! Think what he sounds like today? Ouch! I'm sure the tour with plenty of Preparation-H. RemyRAD
Can we at least appreciate the fact that these guys that kept preforming from the 70s to literally the 21st century

The best rock band of all time!!!
Pink floyd, for me.
Queen, for me
The Beatles for me but..
I thought that the pink Floyd is the best and most important reunion in the history of music
Journey for me
Queen and Guns n Roses for me
Как же people всё-таки любит Purple! Восхищаюсь и обожаю! 👍💜
So good to see a great rock band out in the sunshine
The only Rock song based on a true story. And Deep Purple was there !!
That Smell by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Fifty Mission Cap by The Tragically Hip both come to mind.
Beautiful video, beautiful audio, Gillan with long hair.. 💜
I was at the concert and they rocked 😊
Masterpiece!!!! 👍👍👍👍😉🎸🎸🎸🎸❤🔥🔥🔥
The most underatted video in youtube I never knew Deep Purple was in live 8 long live rock n roll
Saying underrated is overrated.
Браво, кажется, что время остановилось...
Deep Purple was touring Canada at the time of Live 8 so that is why they performed in Canada
The best human&musical event in the history.......unfortunately the number of viewers is too weak (1917)
Look up Woodstock and Live Aid, but I agree about the number being unfortunately low
I think the God that is Ian Gillan looked a little miffed (pissed for USA brethren) at the the two numptys taking the mickey out of THE RIFF.
Maestros..
PERFECT!! BEAUTIFULLLLLLLL!!!!!!

Where is Richie Blackmore 😔
Sorry but he’s been gone since 1993. The Battle Rages On was his last album with Deep Purple
