    Thanks so much - you are the first person who managed to explain how to get the stitches back in the correct direction!

    Thank you so much Hannah! You saved me from having to rip back all my knitting and taught me how the stitches should sit correctly on the needles so I can spot mistakes before it's too late. Excellent Teacher ☺

    What a game changer. I've never known that the front of the stitch needs to be a the right and the back on the left (not even my ever patient granny explained that all those years ago). If only I'd know that years before I might have continued knitting when I was young and not have become so frustrated. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    THANK YOU for this!! I just started knitting about 6 weeks ago, and I drop stitches all the time. I didn’t know how to pick them backbup again so I always pulled the whole project out whenever one slipped off ☹️☹️☹️. This video was super helpful, thank you for sharing!

    Thank you so much for this video. My better half who is a brilliant knitter normally always sorts my crimed errors out, as I'm only doing garter stitch at the moment some of the errors represent invented knits bless as she put it bless her. Or coil around the needle so tight as if snake like waiting to strike so funny.
    BUT I want to be more independent 59yrs young and just got into this addicive pastime.
    If you need a scarf I'm your man lol.
    Used two yarns together and two gauges of yarn together loved the effects.
    As I stripped off about 7 rows early hours to sorted my bad and put back on needle, unsuccessful I'm afraid.
    I will follow your guide and come back to you.
    Many thanks and kind regards

      @@KnitWithHannah You are lovely! I understood your logic completely. The problem is... I'm a lefty so I'm not sure if it would be the opposite :(

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  4 роки тому

      @@kylie6243 OK, you want the loops eventually sitting on the right hand needle with the left-hand part of the loop at the front so you can knit into it. I think there are apps that will mirror the video for you - then you'll get it right (just switch the sound off or I'll be telling you right when you need left etc.)

    So helpful! But how do you handle when you’ve slipped the edge stitches? It’s confusing me which order they’re supposed to go in.

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  2 роки тому

      Unless you’re slipping them over the second stitch before you knit them, they will be first and last to return to the row on the needles.

    Will it be the other way around when you're left handed? Left at the front?

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  Рік тому

      Possibly, depends on how you’re knitting. If you’re moving the stitches from the right needle to the left as you knit a row, then yes.

    Hi, this is such a great video! I'm still a bit stuck because I've been alternating between knitting and purling - is it the same process for purling or do I need to turn them the other way round?

    • @KnitWithHannah

    How do i do this with a double stitch?? I’m knitting a double stockinette stitch and there’s a front and back

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  Рік тому

      Ack! That’s a tough one. If you can unravel one stitch at a time, rather than taking a whole row off the needle.
      Or if the stitches have fallen off, you may need to put the stitches back in as best you can and approach each double stitch one at a time as you prepare to knit them.
      One option is to do a small sample of double stitch on spare needles with leftover yarn, so you have the ‘correct’ version to refer to as you replace them.
      Hope that helps!
      Happy knitting 🧶

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  2 роки тому

      If you have thinner needles move them onto a thinner one first, then you can move them over to the thick needle as you knit the next row. Happy knitting 🧶
