LOVE the Itals!!!! "Brutal Out Deh" could possibly be the greatest Roots Reggae album ever recorded. Phenomenal collection of tunes. And not just reggae, but any genre. LOVE IT!!!
Nice to see and hear Lloyd and Ronnie sing lead on Gimme Power. Keith Porter sang lead about as good as Ronnie (both near the top of all reggae singers). But Ronnie had a better harmony voice, so Keith got more leads. I wish they had given all three singers more equal time (like Israel Vibration).
I was lucky enough to see them in Ann Arbor during this tour. I was 17 turning 18 and enthralled with the Itals and reggae. I had a tape recorder with me and caught the concert on cassette. Not sure where that tape is anymore, but it's out there, in deh.
I'm in A2 as we speak. Blind Pig? Second Chance? Nectarine Ballroom? Bird of Paradise? Chrysler? Hill Audotorium? One of these clubs must've hosted the show. I was only a young teen then, but I went to a lot of hardcore & punk shows at Blind Pig (CIRCLE JERKS) and Nectarine Ballroom (The EXPLOITED in 1989 but I missed BLACK FLAG in 1985 or so). Cheers from Tree City!
@@vadermasktruth It was in the UM student union. It was epic. Later that summer I saw Steel Pulse at Michigan Theater. I'm in GR now, occasionally promoting reggae shows here.
Thanks for this..my fav concert ever..i had only a partial recording from many years ago.Only thing i knew about this was it was in Canada many years ago.
I am physically a Haitian man with a love for Jamaica and the roots culture , I myself can’t explain that. I am in a cross culture Big up Italy !!!!!! Big up the roots
Long time no see including the family for the proof of a honest man which God Creator can only set free according prophecy, the promise to three tree which all can see with no more question about you and me for God's promise to eternity.
Salutation longtime I respect you one love Jah Rastafari is reel and tromg everytime juste only for enoof respect becauce i praying everytime for jah is reel and tromg yes only for what that situation is verry bad situation ina babylone système in Jamaïque 🇯🇲 ina africa in over that wordl too much tribulations for what juste only for juste only détruisons. Ina over my people .?trying to be possitif and trying to be free juste only 😂🙏🤲🤝🇧🇯🇯🇲give thants and pray everytime Jah is reel and tromg everytime
I need this drummer's name. It's not Sly and it's not Style, but he hits the drums EXACTLY like Style, but his rhythmic pattern isn't like other reggae drummers. He is drumming like a rock drummer...those poor drums! This dude is a beast, tighter than any rock drummer, and just as swift as a punk rock drummer! Every tap on the drums is intentional and purpose-driven. This man's name, I need.
Sadly one of the most underrated Roots Band, they where the top tree best groups out there. Love them and spin their records and thinking about them and remember their shows here in Southern California. Respect to all of them.
Clearly one of the most underrated Reggae group. The Itals is one hell of a massive talent.

And yes, Ronnie's voice has lived in my heart ever since I heard him take the encore in a concert from the Brutal tour.
