I'm 45, out of shape and overweight. For some reason I decided skateboarding would be a fun thing to learn (watching your videos for the past few years helped that decision!) Local skate shop hooked me up with the gear, and I've been working on my porch for the past few weeks. Just landed a popcorn a couple days ago, and this video will be my homework for the next few weeks!
Im 45 and restarting... its amazing to go back to a love of mine from childhood... everything has changed so much! The boards are all crazy fast now. I'm so rusty and these videos are helping me be a better all around skater. The bit you said about how riding helps you overcome hard things in life. So true. Thanks Aaron.
“Everything you do on your board counts”. I love that. Even tiny practice steps are important, no matter how silly you may look. It’s okay to be a beginner.
I haven't skated in somewhere between 5-10 years and have put on some pounds to where I'm now 320lbs after losing some, at only 26 years old. So I just wanted to say that these videos have actually been super helpful in me finding a way to get the exercise I always loved, while maintaining as much safety as possible so I don't hurt myself and end up right back where I'm trying to move away from. So thank you Braille and Aaron for making these videos and therefor helping me find my avenue back to a healthier and happier body, while doing something I love.
Glad I found your video series, it's really nice to have a progression plan as a beginner. 46 and getting back into skating (novice as a kid). Had an awesome lesson at a park to help kickstart my journey. I think for us older folks, the mental game is so important. The instructor kept me in the right head space with positive reinforcement, and giving me tips on where to focus each time was so helpful.
Just got my braille board today. Rolled around a bit practiced Ollies, I’m 30 I haven’t skated in about 12 years I’m so out of shape after 15 mins lol. Thanks for inspiring me to get back into it guys 👍
I knew it! Kyro is Blippi! Just look at the socks! 37 yr old dad btw. Recently got my 25 year old board from my parent's garage into my own garage. Probably going to try a couple of these when no one is looking
Omg bro lol timing. I'm 40 been watching for 4 years on channel . You are literally the reason I went and bought a board about 2 yrs ago. I'm still re learning everything. Me and a friend are literally going skating tomorrow. This video is great!!!! I have my Ollie back nollie still feels awkward but getting there. Just cracked me up you literally described me . DADS that are 40 used to skate back in the day just started back bruh lol. Love you guys keep making great content. Anytime you wanna kid nap me for a day and teach an old dog new tricks 🤙. Love your videos!!!
I Recently got into skateboarding and was watching the beginner tutorial play list and definitely loved how much that’s helping me get comfortable riding before doing anything crazy 😂. Learning shuvits currently and enjoying my time learning and riding. Never to late to get into skateboarding. ❤
Do you all have a recent video on how to fall properly, with the current group? I'd love to see a video of how to fall properly with input and commentary from everyone, not only just on something like grass but also in the braillehouse with speed and with air.
Absolutely loved it. Great detail n break down of the movement. Very well done. And more than anything, makes me want to get on the board n practice. Thank you 🙏 ❤
Nice chill video AK, you really have a gift for teaching and making people feel comfortable 😎👌 it gives you the ability to learn and grow faster, you are a great encouragement 👏 love braille 😎♥️
I would add the "tick tock push" that's what we called it in the 80s. It's where you go back and forth with your front foot to add speed. Really helps practice your center of gravity.
Three days ago i stepped on a board for the first time in almost 17 years (turning 27 this year). Right now just trying to get comfortable riding again and to get some confidence back before i try anything st00pid haha
When just the act of rolling and standing on the board without losing balance and not falling is "tricky" thats when you know everything on a skateboard is a trick.
When i was in highschool, I didn't have anywhere to skate except just the flat streets in my neighborhood, and I ended up leaning a lot of freestyle tricks, so I love cavemans and boneless' . Me and my best friend used to pull boneless Christ airs, and he had this crazy boneless where he basically did a seatbelt grab, but would grab the wheel, then while in the air he would spin the board in a full circle by the wheel and throw it back under his feet. One of the best tricks i ever did was by accident, i was trying to do a caveman quadruple kickflip, i got three and a quarter flips and landed rock solid in primo, then 360 flipped out of primo, so caveman triple kickflip to primo 360 flip.
Amazing videos , so so helpful , all those years ago everything was down to community , todays technology internet and social media platforms must be influencing and making it easier for new skaters... Glad to see I'm not the only Peter Pan skating ! 😅
Is it bad to do caveman with my front foot jumping on before the back foot? I find it way easier because thats the foot i'm comfortable having on the board by itself. Although that will make doing a boneless way harder
I'm just getting back into skating after 10 years of break (still drove long board for travel) Since then I became a professional dancer that is known in our community for fast footwork and I'm still baffled that I feel like my feet are too slow and that it is impossible to move the feet like that XD But on the other hand, landed my first rolling shove it today so thanks for the tips and tricks
Dam cool vid but was hoping Aaron's class pop the tail flick pick up trick was gonna be in here. I have no idea what it's called but I really want to learn it haha
Hello skatepark pro... I got a nice looking $15 waterproof upto 50M submerged digital wrist watch from Jmart and fastened it using zip tyes to my old speedometer mount on the handles bars of my bike via weaving the zip tyes through the strap holes of the watch and going around the handle bars of my bike diagonally around the watch strap with the zip tyes so now I have a super epic and pre installed bike clock that has a back light button to be telling me what time it is when I'm riding my bike without needing a expensive bike computer that's not as waterproof... HOPEFULLY!!!!!! Amazing has nice 100m waterproof watchers for $47 half price rite now too!!!
hey Aaron thanks for the shout out to us skatedads. I picked up skating this year in an effort to get my kid (and myself) out of the house and out from behind tv and computer screens, and it's been a blast. i try not to go anywhere without it now.

Yeah man! In every video of these I find something to do again or try for the first time. Love it. But omg what happened to that dude at arround 7:15? Dude must either be tripping or he just had the slam of is his life man, outch
You forgot you can pogo 😂 now that I’m older I wanna try and learn some flip tricks cause not to long ago I bodied myself trying to roll in on a quarter pipe and just ate it cause my back truck caught the coping
Tried shove-it with my feet on the ground one time, didn't want to have to leave my house so did it on carpet, instant full powered board smash into my ankle lmao, AK makes it look to easy, man!
I personally consider anything you do on a skateboard as a trick in itself, including just standing on the board without being wobbly and unstable. Even if people don't agree like my friend.
This the Lil Wayne edition. After 12-15 years of skating he has never learn a trick that involves a ollie. I blame his “ friends “ for not pushing him to progress. They clap when he pushes. SMH

Thanks so much! Keep skating more to come
What I love so much about boneless is the distinctive sound is makes, when you hit it right. Music to my eardrums 🥰

Niiice! Now i can Shove-it but in the other direction. I did like 4 shoves in a row.

"Payton manning get up on me" Aaron Kyro 15:41
Definitely the essentials for every beginner skateboarder. My no ollie tricks vid would pretty much require knowledge of these movements
Thank you for this

Any sort of shin scrapes and wrist sprains can be learned without the ollie
Type B batteries does exist. It's practically impossible to get now, since new devices don't use them anymore. But I digress. Nice video.
3:48 these are almost the equivalent of flatland bmx tricks
Dang Aaron ! Boneless 180 first try and a nice spiral with a football first try! There must be something in the water at San Francisco

Second trick true, first time terrifying, but after first try it's like wow, so easy.
They gave us some different content today to prepare us for tomorrow's video of Gabe dropping in on the vert 👀

Like and enjoy 👍🍀👍
You should do a "does it wax" segment where you test out the best and worst things to use for wax!
We actually did that exact series. I think it was called “will it wax”. Search it up
@Braille Skateboarding

12:43 ''if you skate with left food forward'' POV ME: haaaaa WHY WHY WHY
I personally consider anything you do on a skateboard as a trick in itself, including just standing on the board without being wobbly and unstable. Even if people don't agree like my friend.
I’m currently stuck on kick flips funny that I learnt to heelflip before kick flip lol 😂
What about acid drop

Yeah popcorns are way more sketchy for more than a ollie, 180 or pop shove or even a 50-50 grind.
