    I have never forgot the 1987 Indy 500. I was rooting for Mario so much.....and he absolutely dominated that race. Then with about 23 laps left something failed in the engine/fuel system. He was 47 years old that year and I remember after the race thinking that was probably his last great chance to win the 500 again.

    Along with Gilles Villeneuve, Mario Andretti is certainly the most likeable and authentic man in the history of motorsport. His modest origins certainly have a lot to do with it. Long life to his person.

    Such a welcome change from these modern-day Prima-Donna's who think they are owed a living! This man has known both sides and seems to know that he is not only talented, but lucky too. Good on you Mr. Andretti.

    Wow, what a great story. Mr. Andretti is quite a remarkable individual. Mr. Bensinger, you really elicit great storytelling from your guests in your interviews. Thank you for bringing these to us. I am particularly fascinated by the Niki Lauda interview clips as well.
