    I love that we can hear the players' post-game dialogue at the board for once. In this case it really tied the game's narrative together for the viewers, because they were discussing their perspectives on the decisive move of the game. It was even more hype that the opponent had found the move for the player who misplayed it, implying Magnus's analysis was completely dominant on both sides of the board. We would have missed all of this without the post-game dialogue.
    Another thing I love: this format. We often like to compare players across generations, and there's so much speculation involved. Placing them into the exact same board position and comparing the quality of their moves from there is a super interesting way to connect the generations.
    Location is beautiful too. Production was nice, and the games were easy to follow. Jan and Danya work fantastic together.

      @@BigBoy-ql5rn Except he was talking about the player's perspective on decisive moves, key words are "the players". There's no need to be a condescending dickwad, especially when you're the one lacking reading comprehension. Btw, what's your rating again?

    • @hulkslayer626
      @hulkslayer626 12 днів тому

      YES!! Agree with everything you said. Love being able to hear them discussing it. Those are usually my favorite videos on UA-cam, when the person who played the game explains what they were thinking when they moved. Amazing setting and amazing format! Really plays with that notion of comparing past masters to present.

    This kind of competition cannot be called a historic competition, it is just a performance activity for self-entertainment, a grand and formal and meaningless activity. If the sponsor really wants to promote the development of local chess in Morocco, he can give the money for this competition to the local children of Morocco for ten years!

    • @BigBoy-ql5rn
      @BigBoy-ql5rn 13 днів тому

      It's not easy to create youth centers for any sport in any country. Even with some government money, you still need a bunch of other things to make it happen. The main issue is that it's not profitable so there aren't many people who would "invest" in such a thing. This sort of thing is best done by local sport clubs that already have a football team, a basketball team and so forth, plus they have the general know-how to run these things and maybe even have a few sponsors. The biggest issue, though, is that there are still not that many children who are insterested in chess vs football, basketball, etc. People like to pretend that chess is as popular as football but it's not. Not even close.
