I was born in Manhattan but when😍 I was six my father bought a house on 52nd Street on Third Avenue and I lived there most of my life until I moved to Jersey it was great seeing the old neighborhood 5th Ave was my old shopping area. Brought back a lot of memories Brooklyn still lives in my heart.
hello , sunset park is not far from downtown nyc - the N , F train gets near there right before coney island - the park is parallel to verrazano park - the bridge. the 5 boros by car that is the one bridge we locals pay $14 to cross into another boro. but the ferry from the island about 3 miles from the verrazano park is free 7 days a week - they opted out to have riders pay or use the transfer from mta card in 2005. it is a nice bridge to watch a sunset, guess :) elle for italian bridges (whitestone is a toll too out of queens)
A lot of birthday cakes came from that bakery in 54th Street my Abuelas casa is bwt 52nd and 53rd after the firehouse. Many many parties when I was younger....... Late late nights past my bedtime lol
You have a lot of taco stands, because, that place has a lot of Mexican living there, when i resided there in East New York, Cleveland and New Lots Ave, only blacks and Dominican reside there, equally, if you go to Nostrand, Flatbush, and President, you see a lot of Caribbean nationals in these areas, soo, as you can see, each neighborhood is different, i move to Boston in 95 from Watson and Westchester Ave in the Bronx, since then, i'm still in Boston, but i always go to visit my friends in the big apple!!
I worked in East New York, for a few years. That used to be the only place you could find Mexican food back in the day. Now, it's everywhere. BTW I visited Boston last year, had a great time. I reviewed Regina's pizza in case you're interested, link to the other channel in the description section.
True, NYC is like 5 major cities……However in my opinion the New Jersey side is also arguably another part of the NYC area even though it’s technically not and ….Also in my opinion Westchester county is another part of the NYC area and there’s even a downtown area there too in White Plains and White Plains can be reached by local NYC train too…..So in my opinion, NYC is like 7 cities combined.
@@ramencurry6672 Indeed. They call Jersey City the 6th borough of NYC. Parts of the city remind me of Brooklyn. And Hoboken is aesthetically more akin to Greenpoint Brooklyn than anywhere else in Jersey.
Brooklyn really change before we're all. Italians, we lived there at 30th st. Across from the cementery the brick house in the corner w garage belongs to my in laws.
Hey Antonio, you passed a Taco Bell which is a disgrace. I went to Johnny’s Pizzeria (which you walked by) pre-pandemic. There was a Domino’s next door. Totally disrespectful! I miss Brooklyn (at least, the pre-gentrified parts).
I haven't had Taco Bell in 20 years. I noticed it while editing, I had no idea I walked past it. I can't believe people would eat there when there are so many amazing Mexican restaurants around.
@@Antonioonthego exactly! A Taco Bell in Sunset Park is insane. Funny thing is I’ve been to Sunset Park (the neighborhood) many times over the years. But, I don’t remember ever going to the actual park.
I totally agree with you but many people are not foodies. None of my friends are foodies and have little interest in eating in good restaurants. So I mostly eat out alone solo. I have relatives (in laws -aunts husband side ) who live in Los Angeles in a Korea Town area where there’s amazing Korean food and excellent Mexico food. They have no interest and would rather eat out at a chain restaurant which to me is crazy. You only live once
@@ramencurry6672 I know a few people like that. They prefer the corporate chain restaurants. I dated a girl once who would rather eat Domino's pizza than the pizza here in all our mom's and pop's shops. Not me !
I knew somebody back in the day that used to work there and we used to get cartons of cigarettes and all sorts of stuff out of there right in the garbage I would pick it up later on when they close
Ive lived in sunset park snce 1965 i moved out on 2010. The comumity was made up of irish & italian later in the50's a huge influx of Puerto Ricans, later Domimicans gradually moved in.Now the Mexicans.south and cental americsn as well as chinese have made sunset park thier home.
I envy you the pleasure of walking through my old neighborhood. ❤

I'm so happy to have brought back good memories for you, thanks for the comment, it's very encouraging. I love this area.
I am homesick and grew up in Sunset on 52nd Street between 5th and 6th avenue. Thanks for posting.
Glad you appreciated it.
I grew up on 56th and 6th across from the park but my aunt Sarah lived on your block and my cousin Irvin

Cool neighborhood!!
I’m always in Sunset Park because I attend church and I have friends who live in Sunset Park too.
Lovely neighborhood.
Nice philosophical stroll, Antonio. Would love to check out Brooklyn. Right now you look strong enough to pull the ears off a gundark
Maybe a Rancor lol
It's great to see you ! Antonio! Hope all is well and your feeling better ❤🙏🏼Thank you, for the tour .. Miss ya !👋🏼🥰
Hey nice hearing from ya JG ! Glad enjoyed the tour.
Love these. Thanks again Antonio!!
Very encouraging to hear. I plan to make more of these videos.
Nice part of NYC. I was there last autumn making a pilgrimage to Luigi’s pizza.
Luigi's is further up north, in Park Slope.
Hey my I grew up in these streets I go a lot of times to that DDs on 55ths
Happy to hear your comment, hope you enjoyed the walk

that was a big grill !! wow!!
Wow ! never thought of Brooklyn , being that big .. 😮
You're excellent bud! Greetings from Ireland !
Hey, thanks! Welcome!
Great stream as always. Love your style.
wow! big fruit bender .. Nice
NYC is 5 major cities combined into one. Mopeds using the sidewalk almost like a road is interesting.
It's lawless out here Ed. You should see the car races in Staten Island at night.

Pizza, tacos…food heaven. Although nobody talks about it I also love the Mexican organ meats like the Mexican tripe, etc…
I overheard a lot of the locals ordering tripe tacos and tongue tacos.

It did change. But Sheepshead Bay is still the same, that's my next video walking tour.
you didn't mention OLPH
How many Chinese restaurants are there in
Sunset Park?
There are Chinese restaurants all over NYC
Many on 8th Ave.
Best Pizza in the WORLD ❤

To be frank, it looks like a pigsty
Look at all those immigrants
Most of them are residents. You should see the enormous houses they own.
I'm from 40th and 7th . 1958 - 1989
Now in " Little Brooklyn " Burlington Vermont .🫡😀

I love Sunset Park. I'd compare it to Jackson Heights's Queens. Great to visit in the Summer, with all of the street vendors.
That’s all illegal come on not legal
