I'm a contract climber myself, have a fire breathing ported 200t, 201TC, yadda yadda. They sit on the shelf now that I have the Milwaukee top handle saw. 2 years in and it's been absolutely flawless. I have ×2 12AH batteries and they are plenty for a days work. It DID replace my gas climbing saw. Took a bit to get used to, mainly trying to choke it or pull start it 😂 but yeah battery stuff is here and I'm here for it.
Thanks! We have been using this saw for a while, but the results still surprised us. I'm also surprised that we didn't see any battery overtemping issues.
I’m definitely going to pick one of these saws up. I bought the 16” only because I needed another 12ah battery and charger and it was only $80 more for the saw. I put the saw away for almost a year before I actually tried it. I love that little saw and find myself using it all the time. I never would have thought I’d find myself liking and using it so much as I lot of different modded gas saws. I even grab it over my ms-261 a lot of the time.
Im a contractor with Milwaukee fuel tools. So i do not mind having more batterys for me i think this saw is amazing value duel perpose...jobsite and chainsaw work
This is astonishing and it may very well be the best battery chainsaw on the market right now. The big issue is price...looking around $800 or more with batteries and high AH batteries. Way too much money for the average consumer/homeowner. If the company can get the price down to around $300- $400 with charger/batteries { which is the sweet spot for middle class consumers} , it could become 1 of the best selling battery saws of all time.
The energy storage to outdo gasoline has yet to materialize. Can't cram the same amount of energy into two batteries that one 10oz fuel tank will hold. Did you buy this saw or did Milwaukee give it to you?
The main problem with battery is that a fuel tank on a gas saw only takes a couple seconds to refill, while batteries take a lot onger than that and you have to bring a charging station and have a place to plug in and then you need backup batteries if you're doing a lot of cutting which costs an additional $600.
excellent test. on a greenworks v82 3.4 kw I also made 38 cuts of 16" birch with an 8ah battery 97% charged. The saw stopped at 5% charge. The chain is 0.325 chisel. Progress is being made, but very slowly. Not a single saw has reached the 4.3kw rating. We are waiting for a breakthrough - Milwaukee, greenworks, ego, stihl, huskvarna. My video on my channel.
Most people's hate for Battery anything is rooted into their politics. It's quite sad. I use my Milwaukee saws for 99% of my work, the gas 881comes out at most 3x a year for any tree bigger than 35" and if I want to mill a slab or big lumber.
Assuming everyone hates battery powered anything because of politics is sad. Some just like the sound of a gas engine. PS, climate change is politics not based in science, just saying.
I can't sit and listen to an electric chainsaw run for 6 minutes I'm sorry. I was hoping somebody would tell me the results of the video in the comment section.

with some recovery voltage you might have finished that last cut! outstanding test, finally someone did it with the 12ah forge

@@RootedArboristsStihl batterys get very hot in MSA 300

I love a 261, but the convenience of battery is hard to beat.
@ oh for sure! I will definitely be trying the dual battery 20” saw in the near future. Glad to see it’s performing so well!
Dose this saw leak oil like the previous single battery Milwaukee?
Also could you show the bar mount/sprocket setup on this saw?
Have you Upgraded the Chain to a Full CHISELED and or Bar i want this saw but Already have 3 FORGE BATTERIES just want the saw for About $500
This test was a stock setup, but we do use full chisel chain with it. Definitely spend the extra for the kit so you have batteries on the charger!
No problem with battery equipment, it's cost of the batteries! Soo expensive in the UK!
Do it in hard wood on full power with 8amp battery that comes with chainsaw.

do you have sprockets for longer bars? do a 28" 3/8" bar review if you still have the rim sprockets. lmk if you need parts
The drive system is proprietary. It would require a great deal of custom machining to change to a 3/8 drive.
Have you eone an ego chainsaw review yet or plan to in the futire?
I just like not having to deal w gas oil mix and the fact that battery is gonnabe used by now than just a chainsaw

We purchased this one, but we were given one as well.
6:49 same goes for the gas ones jreds and Dollys
Can you spin the chain with hand. It is important for sharpening.
Yes you can! 🤘🏼

What is your channel called?
That’s an awesome comparison! We’re excited to see what the next generation of battery power will bring.
Why not cut normal pieces of firewood!

Too heavy. I love cordless tools but some of them are gas. Lol.
