Yeah, but it’s done after that cut or at least the next cut.
The problem with batteries is we wont have electricity forever 😅
Great video guys, I have been agonizing about getting a new chainsaw and this one has my attention. I already have Milwaukee M18 tools and had not thought about a electric chainsaw until this AM. I'm 82 and my 056 Stihl is getting hard to start, it has been a dream to buck with, the only saw I've had that would saw threw a pinch most of the time and I really hate to give it up. Maybe I'll give it to some young fellow like you who doesn't know his own strength.. I don't saw that often and this battery operated saw would solve a lot of problems about getting the saw going. It looks like it would pair up well with my arborist saw for trimming. Thanks for the comparison/pros and cons Gents !
Im a contractor with Milwaukee fuel tools. So i do not mind having more batterys for me i think this saw is amazing value duel perpose...jobsite and chainsaw work
"Back pocket on zeros will not come" 👀 Lets see a review on the new zero ultra!
lol that 500i cuts way faster then that lol.
Dose this saw leak oil like the previous single battery Milwaukee? Also could you show the bar mount/sprocket setup on this saw?
Just got mine in? Super easy pairing two but the third will not pair. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. I’ve contacted Husqvarna but that hasn’t been any help unfortunately. If you have any suggestions on how to pair the 3rd set that would be awesome!
I just like not having to deal w gas oil mix and the fact that battery is gonnabe used by now than just a chainsaw
Try it on a 4 foot stump..
As soon as I can afford it I’m gonna put the money towards a 462
Chains blunt on the 500i
Picking mine up today!! time to see what this hype is all about
I'm a contract climber myself, have a fire breathing ported 200t, 201TC, yadda yadda. They sit on the shelf now that I have the Milwaukee top handle saw. 2 years in and it's been absolutely flawless. I have ×2 12AH batteries and they are plenty for a days work. It DID replace my gas climbing saw. Took a bit to get used to, mainly trying to choke it or pull start it 😂 but yeah battery stuff is here and I'm here for it.
Dawg iv been cutting wood for 16 to 37 my 391 rips get out my face😂
Why not cut normal pieces of firewood!
The battery mounts will break in very short order on a tree crew.
I can't sit and listen to an electric chainsaw run for 6 minutes I'm sorry. I was hoping somebody would tell me the results of the video in the comment section.
Fake news😂😂
Very fake video, please stop
Pole saw kerf is thinner than stihl chain kerf. Unfair race between two completely different setups.
We are almost exclusively wearing CPs now. Check out the new Arbortec summer vented trousers. I helped with the design, they should be available prior to the Spring season.
Have you Upgraded the Chain to a Full CHISELED and or Bar i want this saw but Already have 3 FORGE BATTERIES just want the saw for About $500
This test was a stock setup, but we do use full chisel chain with it. Definitely spend the extra for the kit so you have batteries on the charger!
Uh...gentlemen; where did you find a .325 28" guide bar?
We had to change the sprocket, but I believe Cannon makes a 24" and 28" bar. We ran the 28" on the pre-production model with the older sprocket design.
6:49 same goes for the gas ones jreds and Dollys
This is astonishing and it may very well be the best battery chainsaw on the market right now. The big issue is price...looking around $800 or more with batteries and high AH batteries. Way too much money for the average consumer/homeowner. If the company can get the price down to around $300- $400 with charger/batteries { which is the sweet spot for middle class consumers} , it could become 1 of the best selling battery saws of all time.
There’s not many Americans I see on here wearing chainsaw boots less so arbortecs I didn’t know they sold them in the states
We love them! Check out Treestuff and Wesspur.
excellent test. on a greenworks v82 3.4 kw I also made 38 cuts of 16" birch with an 8ah battery 97% charged. The saw stopped at 5% charge. The chain is 0.325 chisel. Progress is being made, but very slowly. Not a single saw has reached the 4.3kw rating. We are waiting for a breakthrough - Milwaukee, greenworks, ego, stihl, huskvarna. My video on my channel.
What is your channel called?
That’s an awesome comparison! We’re excited to see what the next generation of battery power will bring.
The energy storage to outdo gasoline has yet to materialize. Can't cram the same amount of energy into two batteries that one 10oz fuel tank will hold. Did you buy this saw or did Milwaukee give it to you?
We purchased this one, but we were given one as well.
Chain dual as hell on that 500
Really need Husqvarna to come out with a battery saw this size
For sure. We love the 542i series
@@RootedArborists They could do with a solid 20-22inch bar model
No problem with battery equipment, it's cost of the batteries! Soo expensive in the UK!
Anyone know the name of the mystery pant yet? Company I work for is saying ansi is going to update and it’s going to require all climbers to wear chainsaw pants. Looking for something for summer bc ik ima die lol
39 one of those cuts in the middle came off halfway through
HAHA fair enough!
Too heavy. I love cordless tools but some of them are gas. Lol.
Theres no doubt that this new saw is at the top of the heap as far as performance/power but the big issue is the price tag. It is too expensive for most homeonwers- middle class consumers and IMHO that is where the big chunk of the market is located. I think most consumers ideal saw would be 1 with at least 3 year warranty on saw./battery in a package deal that comes with 18 inch or less bar/chain, in the 2kw-3kw power range with at least a 5 AH battery / quick charger around $300. Once you go above that price/performance level, the saw becomes less deisreable for the average consumer. Now, if you want to only try and market to pro arborists, maybe the $800+ saws have some interest, but even then, pro arborist can buy a new gas chainsaw with same performance as the $800 battery saw, for only $300 and they do not have to worry about purchasing additional batteries that cost $200-$400 each.
We hear you. The market is definitely demanding more affordable solutions in the battery space, but I'm not sure which equivalent pro saw you can find around for just $300.
@@RootedArborists Agreed...im not aware of a pro saw alternative that cost $300 that is equivalent to the millwauke saw which costs $800 + . But IMHO, many homeowners/middle class consumers will not be able to afford the millwauke and they therefore will settle for the $200-$300 saws, which wont have as much power as the millwauke, but will still do most jobs that homeowners will need done. For example, Greenworks offers several 16 inch-18 inch saws rated around the 2.5 KW power ranges that are equivalent to 45-50 cc gas saw , that also come with fast charger and battery for under $300 shipped. In fact, you can catch them on sale for holidays for around $229.00 . Yes, it will cut a bit slower then the $800+ millwauke, but for most consumers, they can accept a bit slower cutting speed/power, in return for spending $550 less money. All IMHO.
25.5
The main problem with battery is that a fuel tank on a gas saw only takes a couple seconds to refill, while batteries take a lot onger than that and you have to bring a charging station and have a place to plug in and then you need backup batteries if you're doing a lot of cutting which costs an additional $600.
Last longer than the damn leaf blower that’s for sure
HAHA for sure. We have yet to run a battery back pack blower that is even close to pro ready. The closest we have seen is the Kress model. We do love the handheld blowers though!
I’m definitely going to pick one of these saws up. I bought the 16” only because I needed another 12ah battery and charger and it was only $80 more for the saw. I put the saw away for almost a year before I actually tried it. I love that little saw and find myself using it all the time. I never would have thought I’d find myself liking and using it so much as I lot of different modded gas saws. I even grab it over my ms-261 a lot of the time.
I love a 261, but the convenience of battery is hard to beat.
@ oh for sure! I will definitely be trying the dual battery 20” saw in the near future. Glad to see it’s performing so well!
I've noticed the batteries for some brands get hot (internally), which reduces battery life. I wonder if you could get more cuts if you gave it a short break in between cuts. I'm not usually making 24 cuts consecutive cuts on something that wide
They shouldn't heat up there's probably something wrong with your battery or you use them for heavy tools I had the same problem with my grinders battery it was 4amp so I made an 8amp for it
do this with 2 batteries on the new 16 inch milwalkee shit saw😅
No see how many you can cut with a stihl before it runs out of gas lol
I could cut that saw in half with my Stihl and then cut 5 times as much wood before I filled up or sharpened my chain 😂
Does this telescoping saw allow for the other quick lok attachments? Like the hedge cutter? I noticed it says its compatible but its not the quick lok system ....confused..
Do it in hard wood on full power with 8amp battery that comes with chainsaw.
Can you spin the chain with hand. It is important for sharpening.
Yes you can! 🤘🏼
Most people's hate for Battery anything is rooted into their politics. It's quite sad. I use my Milwaukee saws for 99% of my work, the gas 881comes out at most 3x a year for any tree bigger than 35" and if I want to mill a slab or big lumber.
Assuming everyone hates battery powered anything because of politics is sad. Some just like the sound of a gas engine. PS, climate change is politics not based in science, just saying.
I climb with the Tree Rex. I like it a lot. But the Edelrid suspenders are garbage. I run the Monkey Beaver 2.0 suspenders. They are a much better suspender.
Have you eone an ego chainsaw review yet or plan to in the futire?
25 cuts is good but how long to recharge? Petrol has the overall advantage, just refill and keep cutting.
Well no shit.
@BlockdAccount Hey man, thanks for the response. God bless
@@BlockdAccountSome things just don't need to be electric. I feel this is one of them. Maybe small saws for a home user pruning. But this is a larger saw. If I'm cutting a tree that size give me a gas saw.
@@mikerayle6103 I have both and wouldn't use my battery saw to cut down a tree. Gas definitely has an advantage, but there's a convenience that electric gives. I've used my electric saw for a tree that hung up. I could hear the tree cracking as I made cuts with the electric saw. I don't do a ton of chainsaw work, so it was welcome feedback to be able to hear the tree cracking.
do you have sprockets for longer bars? do a 28" 3/8" bar review if you still have the rim sprockets. lmk if you need parts
The drive system is proprietary. It would require a great deal of custom machining to change to a 3/8 drive.
