Hey guys, thanks for all the love. I just need to clarify one thing. I, for one, consider myself a critic and not a reviewer, and here’s why. One, I have an undergrad degree in journalism, in which I learnt how to critique. Two, I have a Masters in Literature, in which I learnt how to critique stories and story writing in all forms. Third, I’ve worked at a newspaper for over two decades, out of which 7 years as an editor and senior journalist, so I’ve been trained to critique by the best. I had a stamp of approval from none other than Imran Aslam. You need a minimum of two years and needful insight to master a field; we’ve dedicated much more than that to TV. Even as a fashion journalist, it took 2 years to build credibility as a critic. So today I am a critic, not reviewer. That said, we’re all at different stages on the same platform and are all part of the same community. And Maya was talking about ALL of us :) - Aamna

Hassan let himself down, amna had a better stance on it but galaxy lollywood was spot on and dealt it the way it should've been ! What a disappointment hassan was while taking interview and while defending his lame stance later on also. Amazing take by you guys on supporting each other ! A lot more mature and on point !

I am the one who watched both Amma TV aur main and something haute. I always feel that amma and Amna almost have the same opinion about certain dramas every week. So there is just the difference of medium of instruction. Like Amma speaks punjabi, and Amna uses urdu and English as delivery language.

A big Something Haute fan here - but Hasan's behaviour lately has been putting me off. It was terrible to see him go on about 'humari baat toh nahi ker raheen' repeatedly and then even in the shows that followed, he kept repeating the same when he should've stood up for his community. Mushkil say 3 - 4 loug review kerte hain and to put them down wasn't nice. Love love love Aamna and wish Hasan would learn more from her. Hope this doesn't follow up with him threatening his audience about negative feedback as he usually does.

Hassan is so full of himself . He threats his viewers every time !! Don’t say this don’t say that . He used words like bhaar mein jain sab if someone gives feedback. I only watch their videos because of Amna. Hassan only says stuff that sells . Like all that Feminism opinions or anything Hassan says looks like a show off . But when Amna says anything about those sensitive issues it touches my heart and it’s always more convincing.

Loved the show. I think you guys should watch Amna’s interview with Zahid Ahmed on something haute. Where Zahid Ahmed said something on the same lines as Maya Ali and Amna didn’t take a single word of it and defended all the reviewers. It was in the last part of the interview, Zahid didn’t agree with Amna but she made sure to put her point across. I think Hassan should have learned from that interview that how you can defend your community without being disrespectful.

15:00 lekin Maya was good in Jo bichhad gaye. In all other dramas , she has spent all the episodes crying. Crying and looking depressed isn't great performance.

I was very disappointed to see Hassan throwing other reviewers under the bus but thank God for Aamna’s stand that day. Having said that, no one can be what Amma is. She is more than just a drama reviewer, a lot of us see our mothers in her. Recently I was going through a very difficult time personally (I didn’t have my family by my side) and listening to Amma made me miss my mother a little less. Maya may think Amma isn’t qualified enough to review dramas, but the fact is that she doesn’t need to be. She isn’t sitting there to critique the light and sound and production quality, she points out things that we as audience feel and notice.She’s our Amma and we love her just the way she is. Instead of being so sensitive towards criticism, Maya needs to work hard and address those flaws. Love you Amma ❤ P.S - I’m from a Non Punjabi family and couldn’t understand even a single Punjabi phrase when I started watching Amma Tv aur Mein. But I loved her energy so much that I continued watching it, and now can understand and enjoy all her episodes 😊

Iman don't put restrictions on yourself. Just be Yourself. I like the apt music (especially the shadi music) you give in accordance with each and every news. It enhances the impact of the news. Don't stop doing it just because some people don't like. By putting restrictions on yourself, you're losing your spontaneity which is your charm and ronaq of this show.
The way durre talked.. I felt mahira is talking.. Like her eye-brows lips her face expressions everything shouted Mahira copy..
She defended in Amnas iv by saying she selected it year ago and it was a true story but the moment its over she is now talking 180°..
Dure-Fishan claims she is the biggest Mahira Khan's fan. I am sure she loves it when people compare it with her. Instead of seeking inspiration from her it seems prior to coming into the industry she spent a lot of time observing MK and now tries to duplicate every aspect of MK's personality to her fashion choices. It's actually pretty sad and creepy because we don't know who is the real Dure-Fishan??

But then copying someone's entire personality is a whole different thing. Dure wants to be MK and that is creepy! I honeslty don’t know why there’s so much hate surrounding Iman i actually like her so much more now she’s finally opening up and if she changes this show won’t be the same anymore. Iman please don’t take any of this hate to heart stay the same some people may find it “annoying” but i don’t know what there here for, this show is supposed to be a fun show and Iman is the main reason that i watch this show.

Yeah she, at least, doesn’t mince her words to play it safe and is brutally honest and blunt which is refreshing like Amna on SH (to an extent). Only thing I would suggest is conveying in a more constructive manner.

Maya was outstanding in Jo Bichar Gaye ! Your views about reviewers are right. Not only you guys who have a certain platform but also us the audience, we can also review any drama or film. I am being an audience, watching dramas, movies, and series since childhood. Means more than 20 years. So we all have a basic understanding of characters, story, acting, makeup according to situations, or any other mistake, same as Amma does in Amma tv aur mein.

so till now what I have heard, I believe the umrao jaan the classic urdu novel which only been done in movies and now been done for NETFLIX is more of an autobiography and exact copy of the classic novel, it's not a movie and it won't be changed like previous Umrao jaans franchise for commercial viewing or need to be sell to cinema audience. Its more focus on Urdu and just her life ..

As point of being a reviewer, I don’t see why these celebs points out ke ‘ review ka ‘R’ b nahie patah aur review Karnay ah jhatay hai’ firstly I want to pinpoint ke yeh ‘Actors’ kaun se institute mein acting ka ‘A’ seekhte hai, TV ahnay se phelay. The way Amma reviews, honestly she amazes me for the things she picks up and as audience she speaks for us! And is done in humour
Guys I think belonging to the same platform you know better than during an interview you can’t corner your guests and make them uncomfortable and I think Hassan bhai handled it gracefully and it only shows Maya in a cringey jealous way. Also momin running an instagram page since 2010 and becoming a critic after years and years of struggle are two different things. Respect towards your colleagues should be the first and foremost priority.

I always used to think Galaxy Lollywood has one of the most ‘woke’ and ‘educated’ audience but after seeing negative comments about Iman I think Pakistanis still have a very long road to go till girls can be unapologetically themselves without fearing prejudiced judgments. I am genuinely curious why some of our celebrities, case in point: Dure-Fishan - maintain that they encounter a lot of difficulties when it comes to Urdu language, they say they are proficient in English and thus they are more comfortable conversing in English. Ironically, when they converse in English it's anything but fluent and they often make innumerable grammatical errors. It's embarrassing. Let me just state speaking in improper English is not embarrassing. The lack of self-awareness of one's strength and weaknesses and the elitist attitude is what is annoying. Don't say things like you don't know Urdu and you're fluent in English when it's not true. Please understand speaking in English is not a measure of high intellect or higher education. It seems authenticity and being true to yourself is quite understated in the industry.

Well said...can't fathom where this toxicity stems from? If anything she recently got a lot of praise for her drama Ju Bichar gaye from all critics. Also, I have noticed some of our actors need media training and this is a point that was raised by Aamna at SH as well and I second that. Also Maya should definitely google passive-aggressive behavior and work on herself. She seems to hold onto a lot of negativity within herself and I think that's more to do with her own baggage and issues than anyone else.

im from faisalabad and i know both umer n jannat since sooo long, even before they got fame. Umer has always been like that and jannat somehow knew since all her friends kept telling him but i think she loved him so much.
i like your set as is. Custard apple is called "Shareefa". I love Shareefa as it's a very sweet fruit. I grew up on Shareefas & Faalsaas as my Nani in Karachi had multiple trees of guavas, faalsaas & Shareefas etc.

From the promos of Fatima Jinnah, it seemed more of a photo shoot than an actual series because the dialogues had no content and their was no clarity overall.
