Fantastic film. Thank you so much. I absolutely love Jersey cows. They seem so friendly. They are definitely gorgeous and their milk is the best. Cheers
That was hugely informative. We all depend on farmers somewhere putting the food on the shelves, but few of us know much about the process. The workings of this hi-tech farm was fascinating to watch. And I'm lactose intolerant!
Hi Richard, this is a great video! I’m currently on a lambing placement at this farm, just a point to add is that the jersey cows are out on the fields for a large part of the year. They were put out to graze today. People seem to be misunderstanding:)
Jersey milk is my favourite drink in the world! It’s so delicious, creamy and nutritious and it’s a regular on my shopping list! I hope more and more people try it, as it really is fantastic - especially on breakfast cereal and in tea, and the cream is delicious with just about everything!? lol 😂❤
That was certenly facinating, I have heard of robotic miking, and I haven't really thought it's a good idea. But this video has changed my views on it Well done Richard 👍
Reminded me of all the dairies we went on field trips to in gtade school. Dont' think I ever saw a cow being milked as it layed down though - either by hand or by machine.🤔 This is the 2nd vid of yours where I heard you say you were scared of cows. Sorry that made me laugh as cows are normally quite gentle. Now a bull - I wouldn't want to go into a coral w/ a bull I wasn't familiar w/!😬🐮
Lovely video. Those Jersey's are brilliant. I worked, albeit briefly with some Charolais and they are bonkers! Peter seems an excellent farmer who really cares for his livestock. Well done Richard on sort of facing your fear of cows...but don't try the ones with long horns just yet :-)
What a fascinating system... lovely cows too! I’m guessing that the farmer does not have to supervise this as much as traditional methods. Do the cows still go out on the fields? Great farmer too!
They do go out in the summer they are only housed in the winter because ground conditions are too wet plus grass does not grow much in the winter so get your facts straight.
Plaz sir your faram adras may parches detall your farm gercey hifirr 6 mant 4 mant hifir prize and airoplane fess i am pakistan not avlaball power garsey breed in pakistan
Interesting to see the high tech way the farm is run. I guess its the way to go to meet demand. I still think its a shame they don't get to see grass having seen the way cattle act when they are let out to pasture from over - wintering in sheds. Probably cows in the field will be a thing of the past, sadly.
Actually they do get out into the fields for the better part of the year. I have just been informed they have now been let out into the fields - they have to wait for the grass to be a sufficient length I believe.
How happy are these Jersey Cows when they are forced to birth every year and then have their babies taken from them immediately. It's really a cruel practice. Also these cows will be spent by the time they are 4 to 5 years old and their reward will be that they be shipped off to slaughter. #Sad.
Jo, Thanks for your concern. Absolutely Richard. They are now out grazing. They go out to grass 24hrs a day from April until about September. We have a system where they have the best quality grass we can give them and they quickly learn to to come in, get milked themselves and then go out to grass again. Please Jo, if you have any other concerns please message me. Thanks.
@@petersargent4138 I do not wish to get into an argument about the way you treat your animals, but I think the fact that I am a long term vegan says it all - both for health reasons and for the sake of farmed animals. Whether its cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, etc. - I believe a plant based diet is healthier for humans. I will not bore you or your followers any further - you are what you consume and each to his own beliefs.
Jersey cows are my favorite! I’m so glad these girls get spoiled ❤️

Thank you Richard and Peter, your videos are so good, the Cows have such beautiful faces, just a joy to watch.
Thanks Ann - they are lovely cows.
In my opinion, Jersey cattle are the most beautiful animals in the world.
That was hugely informative. We all depend on farmers somewhere putting the food on the shelves, but few of us know much about the process. The workings of this hi-tech farm was fascinating to watch. And I'm lactose intolerant!
I am thrilled you enjoyed it - so much of the food process is not in the public eye any more so it is good to see.
Beautiful breed looked after by a great man.
Drinka Pinta Milka Day!
Jerseys are Perfect.

Thanks so much for making that point. It didn't really come out in the film, so I am very grateful to you.

I am learning not to be so frightened of cows now, thanks to trips like this. :)
Just got a jersey steer. Dairy might be in my future.

Hahahaha - I will stay clear of the long horns for a while yet! :)
very video of your moo moo bonding session lol very pleasant viewing indeed
So pleased you enjoyed it!
What a great farmer, hopefully he doesn't get stressed out too much with all this high tech.
I am being to have second opinions about all this high tech and keeping the cows indoors now.
What a fascinating system... lovely cows too! I’m guessing that the farmer does not have to supervise this as much as traditional methods. Do the cows still go out on the fields? Great farmer too!
Oh yes, the cows still go out into the fields.
I could have watched an hour of that!! Those top knots on the cows heads, must have been the inspiration for Frank Sinatra’s toupee!?!
Yes, fabulous cows, All happy and enjoying themselves.
Really interesting, thanks
Good stuff.
Inspiring video! BTW Purdue University is developing a robotic pill to monitor cow's health and keep them happy :)
Oh is it? Fascinating - cheers.
Thank you mate. Is jersey cow originally from jersey UK or from new jersey USA???

hello, what is the average of the 1st lactation, 2nd lactation on the farm? Also, what is the 3-5 month pregnant moth price in your country?
I am afraid I don't know.
Hallo Sir, im really thankful for your video. Please tell me how can I contact with Petar?
I am not sure how to contact him, I am afraid. It was a while ago now, and I didn't organise it.

yes, cows are sweet. I love Jerseys, but don't like that they are standing in mad and that you chopped their tails. Not good!
lovely herd,, nice smell too but you get used to it
Yes, I suppose you do!
The pens should not be wet and dirty. It's bad for their hooves and health. Grew up on a Dairy and we never let the pens/barns stay wet or dirty.
They look fine. How do you expect to clean without water?

Dairy cows don’t get sent to butcher shops and most dairy cows live for 20+ years get your facts right
As a vegan, I found your vlog somewhat distressing Richard. It would appear thhat those Jersey cows never go out in fields to graze.
They do go out in the fields. They have just gone out now I have been informed. (see comment above)
That is correct - they are no out in the field so I have been told.
