Not the best advice, if execution times matters and in general always does, the faster the better, the cpu should be the most powerful you could get and this means a high end model of the current generation with high clock speed, 25k points in cpu benchmark is the minimum, better 30k+, 32GB RAM, an Nvme disk and a good router. Additionally a 100Mbit internet line minimum, better 1Gbit. Any small delay by transmitting the signal to your broker, extreme situations when there are news events, every ms you can execute the trade faster can save you 1000nds of Dollars over the time(depends on your trade size of course)
I am so glad you made this video.I'm looking to build a desktop because I need the process in power for my testing. And my little laptop turns into a jet engine LO.L
in today's world i think 2TB is the minimum, for video work, you definitely need more. more importantly is the type, not all SSDs are the same in terms of of throughput speed. you can't go wrong with WD Black series.
@@StatOasis Thank you. I had 2 tb samssung gen 4 just sitting in my laptop so I said what the hell let's just build a pc ha. Didn't know if there was something data intensive you were doing with algos or machine learning data sets.
at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what is best, it all depends on your budget. Dell, HP are very good brands specially their workstations, but I always go custom to have choice.
Nice vid. Why would I need to install a vm like paralells for trading on my macbook m1 max? Just using trading view and crypto exchanges. Also, what about an ultra wide 30-40inch where i can have 2-3 screens within that?
I want to upgrade my trading setup. I have one 1080p monitor and want to add 1 4K monitor. Can you recommend a GPU (not very expensive). I came across quadro t1000 but not sure whether it will handle 1 4K and 1 FHD monitor. If you can provide some real life examples, it would be great.
@@StatOasis I thought I saw it, but couldn't find it scrolling back and forth. btw, great looking new computer!! Thank you as always for great videos.
Your 15-year old "workstation" won't support SSD or SATA, DDRM4 RAM, 11th gen Intel CPU, PCIe, etc., etc., etc. because none of those technologies existed 15 years ago, lol

I was also thinking 32gb ram would be better. Hadn't even thought about high clock speed cpu. Thanks.

Very Informative 😎 Very Awesome.

Any updates 2024? Can you also tell me exactly what computer to build for trading. Max 5500£
No updates, but you probably can get faster processor
What brand is your new workstation?
its custom built, i pick the parts and my local computer shop built it for me.
Building a pc right now. Can You tell me why you felt the need for 6 tb hard drive? Is that more for video work?

Would you say the HP evny 34 is a good desktop to use for trading? That’s the one I’ve been looking into

Your budget will decide what card to get. All graphic cards list the resolution they support. Ive been nvidia guy all my life
@@StatOasis What is the least expensive GPU which handle 1 4k and 1 1080p? Any suggestions.
these are nvidia cards series, look for your requirements and search for best price: www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/compare/
What is your new workstation spec - CPU, RAM, SSD etc?
In the video at 13:03

Is the i3 Pc wd 24 inch monitor is already good for forex trading? I want to buy. I have no PC for now. I have no idea whats the best
Forex trading is very light on resources, i think it can be good
Is this also applied for crypto trading or crypto trading can be done on a laptop as well?
All trading can be done in a browser, but you need a little power to run backtesting or to trade multiple strategies simultaneously
For the OS, does it matter if its Windows Pro and Windows Home edition?
it doesn't, if you can connect to internet then that's it. but check comparison between Win and Win Pro to see if you miss any features
Awesome video and very informative. I actually have similar videos related to stock trading hardware over on my channel. Looks great and awesome vid!
I wish you good luck, send traders my way to learn 🙂
An investors are those who do not quality as a day trader, which is 720 trades per year
don't forget some people are occupied with their careers and don't have time to be full time traders, so nothing wrong with investing.
Nice video
Thanks
Thanks for the content. Do you know the benchmark result for i9-13900 for any version KS, etc ?

Very confusing advice
Why?
How much space does all the chart data take up? I only have 5 years of data on fx pairs and it is nearly 2tb
M1 data for 24 hour futures instrument for 17 years is about 140 MB
D1 data for same period is about 1MB
