Accept if you notice some of the Russians were using AK47s not MP44s I know the difference. There were a lot of AK47s by the Russians . I mean the Ruszkies should of used some SKSs tgat would of been believable. The tanks were great, Th he German self propelled guns were German fffom the war.

Unfortunately they couldn't use authentic German armored vehicles in this or almost any other film since the small number that were still operational at the end of the war were mostly destroyed on allied firing ranges or in a few cases used by other countries and later scrapped. A handful of operational vehicles still exist today but these are highly valued properties of armored museums like Bovington - who did lease out the world's only running Tiger1 for the filming of the movie " Fury ".

At the end of the war the Germans sent anyone who could pull a trigger to the front. They even collected them in special units to accomodate better for fysical problems: batallions of 'stomach-suffering' or 'ear damage' having one cook prepare special meals for 300 is better then spread them over 300 units and let them all die after eating their first glutten. Ear damage battalions were not too popular tho: usualy sleeping through an enemy barage. Also the commander had to stand in front of them so they could read his lips when giving the fire command, not the best place to be.
But this is the first time i see a company of near-blind in action 😁

Kalashnikov created the ak47 by making a copy of this gun that could be cheaply mass produced as the original was complex. These guns caused problems during the Ardennes offensive as the rounds could penetrate us army bunkers which in some areas had to be made from wood.

I was in a forgotten war as infantry 83-85 fought against Iraqis in mountains of Kurdistan .What I have noticed that all producers try very hard not to show and keep it clean. They magically miss amputations, intestines pouring out and screams that in no nightmare can even be imagined and will remain with you for rest of your life. These are censored , clean version of war madness . Never wish to be is any of this. If producers show the reality many will not enlist.

It's from 1964/5. By that time black & white film technology had come pretty far. A lot of films from that era and even earlier can look sharp like this. It also depends a lot on how well the original tapes were stored and how much cleaning and digital remastering is done when they are digitized.

There is no such thing as post war STG44, it was produced in 3rd Reich till the end of the ww2, and used by various militaries after ww2! Yugoslav paratroopers used them a way in to 70ties for example. STG44 was being used in Syria civil war way in to 2000snds!
