Rodeln: National Crash Day...AARGH!

Outstanding ice and boilerplate conditions leading to the snowshoe-stomped Rodelbahn. The track was hard and fast with a twist that literally threw us. Ordinarily, the run ends on a flat , narrow lane, barely a Rodel wide, next to a cul de sac. The lane was gone. In its place was a hard crusted snow slope. Rodels are challenging to maneuver when traversing a side hill straight at 90° to the fall line. I made it once. Karen made it once, but our efforts were laughable thereafter. Our Rodelbahn can be challenging track in the right conditions. It's worth the effort to pack it.
