Rodeln: Rollover and New Territory

Feb, 28, 2020 was a piercingly brilliant and beautiful day for Rodeling. We headed out to test the Rodelbahn, local roads and a new road that will replace an old favorite (progress?). The Rodelbahn paid-off on our weeks of setting the track by snowshoe. Luckly, it was augmented by a snowcat drive-through by a power company line inspection crew. It's our fail-safe track if other slides are not available and a good place for beginners to learn the sport. (Give it a try!) Strangely, our main sliding roads (which were in excellent shape) were ruined by a (you won't believe this) snow mobile fire. It burned right at a critical three-way intersection when its brakes locked. So, on to the new road. Not bad, but not as adventurous, nor a pretty, as the old road, but we have to be adaptable.
