A lot of people said that this was one of the hardest fights to beat, but it didn't seem so bad after learning how to approach it. Phase one is better to stay at range when you see the boss on all legs, and when he stands is the best time to fight - otherwise you'll get hit by the decay tentacles which are awkward to dodge. Phase two is more or less Scrapped Watchman, with a couple of follow up attacks, so a similar approach works well.
Lastly, a few people asking why not parry on all of these bosses. I've always enjoyed dodging more in soulslikes, but I also feel it's an approach that's more helpful for people to see and learn how to do the fight themselves. It's simple enough to learn a fight and the parry timings, and showcase a purely parry focused approach. But I don't think that "learn the fight, timings, and then parry everything" is as helpful for most people, and I think that dodging is more helpful for people to see. It shows safer ways to approach the fights and implement them yourself. Both are fun in my opinion, and while I personally prefer dodging, most importantly I feel like it's helpful to the majority of people to show dodge focused approaches instead.

lool this boss is kicking my ass, normally I don't mind coming back time and time again for a fight, but this one in particular feels so annoying!

I dont know if you flex or help/entertaine people, but honestly your videos are great boss guides for me. I am not doing it "no damage" but your approach to fight - how you dodge and parry specific attacks is very helpful. Just one example was killing romeo on 1st try after seeing your video, or Victor on 2nd (of course some tries were before your video :)). Thank you for great job! :)

When they said this game was bloodborne's spiritual successor they weren't joking.
Another extremely frustrating boss to solo. The reason why it's so brutal is the fact that it can easily stunlock you to death. Make one tiny mistake and it may be the end, regardless of how many heals you still have. Also, although not too hard, the first phase is pretty annoying, with those bs venomous tentacles. I wish I had realised sooner that the fire enchantment is really useful here.

you can see from his face when he's about to shoot tentacles and you can try a parry, but the best strat for me was to stay always on him never give distance so he almost never does those or go underground, sometimes he'll try to step back and do it and I'll just close the gap and hit him to stop it, worked most of the time. Great boss and pretty difficult but I've seen worse in from software games (manus and malenia for example)
did you not get the upgrade that lets you get up from being knocked?
That is ridiculous, there's obviously a difference between hard and stupid and this game isn't hard it is stupid sometimes.
i felt like this boss is really fair, every single time i died i deserved to die.
After seeing his weapon and how insane that damage is i immediately upgraded to 8+ and easily beat this boss

@@fuinn9876 it’s a huge axe made from puppets. I just got it I think it was in a tower where a guy is shooting a ballista at you if I’m not mistaken or it could be across from the ballista in a shack.

The only boss that made me soooo mad !! I wanted to solo it, but after more than 2h of try hard, I summoned the spirit to get him at least 50% HP in his phase 2 before going in.
Phase 1 was hard but I got it quickly, and beat it no damage was fast for me. But the damage of the second phase, seriously ! Like one of his combo stuns and you can do NOTHING, and it deals like 1200 damages !! Crazy. He can anyhilate 50% HP of the spirit in one combo lol.
Anyway, your weapon looks amazing ??!! And i love that idea of using fire prosthetic arm to set the boss on fire while he's stunned for visceral attack. I will try that too !

@@TheRockstarRunkey brotherhood didn’t take me too longer 3-4 tries i’m now on lansaxia seems pretty tough i finally got to phase 2 and probably about half health before i died had to go to work but really the second phase of all things on green monster kept messing me up i could get through first phase with only using 1-2 heals but could not get the second down even being a reskin

I was trying to beat this boss like 2 hours today and I was very close to beat it but in last moment it ran over me and game over.
For my mental health decided to quit and try again tomorrow with fresh brains.
@@susanna8612 i know it the second phase really gave me a tough time even with similar moves to a previous boss i struggled more on this boss than any other although i accidentally chose the wrong ending and didn’t get to fight the real last boss
The tricky thing about the bosses in this game is it seems like phase 1 is a block-fest and phase 2 is a dodge-fest. Phase 2 is extremely hard if you try and block everything.
1st phase is okay, not a great boss but decent/enjoyable fight, very easy to no damage. 2nd phase however is a mess and it's not that convenient to parry at all, I'd rather dodge and hit back anytime except for maybe his charge attack. The problem with the 2nd phase is that not only is the arena too small, not only is the boss too spammy for my liking, it deals so much damage and can stunlock you so easily that you have almost no room to learn it properly. I had to kill this thing in the first run without really getting to learn its patterns cause I would get 2 shot'd as soon as I tried to learn its parry windows etc.
I had to resort to NG+ to be able to survive some of its blows and learn the moveset
Decay is no joke against this guy too. Melts your hp and weapon durability.
Its like with bishop. If you get decay you play it wrong.
Putting the decay cure consumables on one of your dpad A button shortcuts is good for that.

Am I the only one here who really enjoyed the second/evolving cutscene music? Hoped the music would continue during the second phase fight.
Just beat him after two hours. Been playing through blind with a motivity build. Used the seven coil greatsword +3 and fully upgraded shield arm. As painful as it was i loved learning his moveset. One interaction I liked was that the shields explosive block knocked me out of range when it did the tentacle spam attack first phase. Mitigated damage and prevented me from getting decayed.
God I don’t understand how first play through this guy was an absolute nightmare. Probably the hardest boss in my opinion. I come back NG+ and obliterated him first try.
If this boss had a better arena, did less damage, didn't have statuses, and didn't have absolutely bullshit spammy attacks, it would be almost good. So basically, if this boss didn't exist, it would be good.

I had over 80 star fragments but sold some to make extra Ergos to upgrade my weapons
I noticed what makes bosses like this and the King of Puppets so difficult, is they have that one attack where they spam charge into you and diminish your health bar in one swoop. You can go into phase 2 with 6 or 7 health boosts, but it can still easily end in a few seconds when they finish you abruptly with that attack. On the brighter side, I managed to find a strat to avoid that attack with this boss. He does a movement with his arm before he is about to try and run into you. As soon as you notice that, that will give you the que to hold the run button and sprint in a circular motion. 9 times out of 10, I discover that he manages to miss you when you keep running in a circle. This fight was much less aggravating once I knew he now couldn't finish me in one go with that attack.
It’s way better to parry it, it’s the same timing as his red charge attack in phase 1

Once you realize phase 2 is the same as scrapped watchman + a little extra moves it really isn't that hard
When he does the scrapped watchman attacks it’s parrying time! The problem is when he flips out and does that trample attack, if you’re mid attack when he does it then you’re just dead
The Green Monster having the Scrapped Watchman's moveset is exactly what made Phase 2 so hard!
@@leonc9760 I'm late, but you can just press dodge twice and outspace this attack completely. It's fast and hits hard, but has pretty much no tracking and range, and the windup is very long
It's the delayed hits that keep catching me out. But i can see youre using a lot more dodges than party's for this boss.

I went with a crit loadout - tyrant’s Longspear. Amulets: arm of god, blue guardmanship (8 hp but use it for stam boost), technique, patience

Once again, another boss with a not needed second phase, the gimmick of a second phase boss is so highly over used in this game that it gets annoying

Secret second phases are the worst. I’d say they’re this game’s biggest issue. I like it a lot, but the boss fights in the second half of the game all go on too long.

You shouldn't give up. I was stuck on him going on 20+ deaths. I've got puppet ripper as my weapon, it has a good charge attack with long range. I didn't need consumables either to win. You got this 💪 don't give up

Second phases dont make the boss any tankier, their HP is just divided by 2.
After the archbishop the next boss fights up until this swamp boss are easy, did use specter though. (I'm at lvl 80s) Swamp boss though did get me killed 4-5 times, but that was because I got stuck into the corner or with the boss blocking me into an awkward position also the red stagger circle is useless with this boss if close against to the wall. If I do a replay I would play this so differently that I would breeze through so much quicker.
I haven't finished the game just beat the swamp boss, am liking the game, but don't like some things with the update.

The puppet ripper works fine. I just defeated the boss with it. Took me 20+tries solo and I didn't have to spam throwables either. Don't give up you got this 💪
