R.I.P. Campbell Hair. A young man from Glasgow Scotland who was part of the hogfarm east and helped build the stages and feed the people! He passed many years ago but being a Glaswegian myself, it blew my mind that a fellow Scot was part of this historical experience. He went on to work in the music business and toured with many of the greats including my hero's The Grateful Dead.
@Ted Ching your take is garbage
@Ted Ching Oh well...can't please everybody.
We need another Woodstock these days for sure for unity
Hell no, look what happen 1999 Woodstock. They burn the whole place down.
If you go to the site of the concert, the concrete stage footings are still there.
@Burr Anderson and what’s your point. It’s a historical place, I didn’t get ripped off because I have plenty of income and it was enjoyable for us. If you choose to be a miserable clown, good on you.
Bunch of drug addicted hippies.
@Burr Anderson who pooped in your frootloops?
@@chuckwood8452 there's always a killjoy troll.
@@petersilkoff6600 lol true. He didn’t kill my joy though, going to make the trip again, this time with my 17 year old, who is a huge music and music history fan
My woodshed teacher (34 years ago), Joe Beyer, was part of building the stage. In the Woodstock movie he is wearing purple.
Oh how I wish concerts were still like Woodstock...Oh how times have changed... I get by with a little help from my FRIENDS!!!!
Yeah, not enough toilet facilities, no food, no water, badly produced drug's, sound not good enough, yeah brilliant festival 😂🤣 only reason it's famous is because it was filmed.
The first Bonnaroo 2002 (and my first festival) was as close as it got in the modern day….then big money and agendas got involved….now look at it. A true grass roots gathering like Woodstock and to a lesser degree, bonnaroo, is dangerous to those jackasses who try to keep us divided..
@@glenndouglas8822 Lol. Go back to bed. They were all filmed.
@@tenebrae23 It was famous because it was big, and the trouble makers stayed away.
I have a piece of the stage now I got it today in mail. I got one of their necklaces made from the stage’s wood. I’m a big music and Woodstock fan. And a big history nerd. Great find and amazing technology today. 😊♥️🇺🇸☮️

Visited the museum at Bethel Woods a few years back & found it an interesting & emotional experience.
Then walked over to see ‘the field of dreams’ itself and was surprised to see how relatively small the site looked to be, as in the movie it looked enormous!
Was cool to just stand there & absorb the vibes of the place, & to recall what an amazing event the festival was!
They probably used a good wide angled lens in the movie.
After Woodstock entertained approx. 500,000 people in 1969, 4 years later there was the Watkins Glen "Summer Jam" in 1973 and more than 600,000 people were in attendance. The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers and The Band entertained the assembled group. I missed Woodstock, as I was only 14 years old when it was held but as an 18-year-old young man, I attended the Watkins Glen festival, and it was fantastic!
Wish I could have been there. Wasn't old enough. Woodstock is to me. A time to love each other and the earth. It's needed now more than ever
from Woodstock to Stock Wood
I like that good one
I was a teen in 1969 living on the west coast and Woodstock certainly made headlines but it's significance has also very much grown over the years starting with the eventual release of the movie since then being kept alive by UA-cam. The idea that pieces of the stage were worth keeping for posterity would have been been laughed at back then.
Incredible story!! What goes around, comes around!
Oh my Gawd!!!! Thank goodness they found it! I was getting very, very worried about that plywood.
Now you can rest peacefully
I have four jellybeans they were on the stage when the Beatles played in Shea Stadium,. my uncle worked for a company that erected the stage beetles performed on. When they took the stage apart , My uncle picked up a few of the jellybeans as souvenirs. Now I have them .. he kept them in an old aluminum 35 mm film can with a label on it,.
not even close to where woodstock is... wtf
A piece of the Stage of Peace. : )
Thank you vlad this was a stellar listen.. stay safe and take care everyone
Let’s bring all the pieces back together and reassemble like a huge jigsaw puzzle
This Is Gina Marie Gordon I cracked the Whole Zodiac Code and I also Heard from My brother Lennon
Cool story. Here I am at the monument, some 45 or so years later. -Al fm NJ
Just to set the record straight not everyone was "equal", there was a huge backstage area that was off limits and controlled by security. The following passes were issued...Press Pass, Staff Pass, Performer Pass, and Guest Pass.
Thanks for the info, where you there?
🙄
Wow the people working had to be distinguished from the people who were partying, what a crazy concept
I noted that, but no big deal.
Great story. Thanks
Thanks so much
Woodstock - the greatest concert ever, and nothing will ever come close to the history that created.
It was an epic failure on every front. It only made money because of the movie. Jerry Garcia said it was the Dead’s worst show ever and he was getting electricity shocks every time he touched his guitar strings.
Roads got clogged and created a safety hazard and it frigging rained heavily that weekend. Acts almost never took the stage on time and the story of Hendrix playing the anthem story has been twisted.
Please stop romancing mediocrity…at best.
@@chrisconley8583 Damn! You must have taken the brown acid
@@chrisconley8583 well I'm sure the quality of the equipment and logistics related to are probably below par, but you can't bag on the actual gathering of the event. It'd be a cool place to tell your grandchildren you were at

Wow. I was only 11 wben Woodstock was on. . I recently moved to NJ and was able to stop and see where Woodstock. was. So cool to to just see it. iIt was a Saturday getting kinda late afternoon in Late October . So many people still there visiting. I hope to go back when weather gets warmer and visit the museum and see more.
Brilliant find, thanks, and God Bless🙏🏻
The stage should have been preseved in full and kept in a museum somewhere.... i suppose it all being plywood the event organizers didnt consider this at the time
But…why, though? Respectfully, I am truly asking.
Im a HUGE fan of places like the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and the Hard Rock cafe gear displays etc. But this…? It’s plywood.
I think maybe people didn't think about that kind lf stuff back then. Look at all the vehicles that wasn't preserved
It should of stayed right where it was , I'd love to stand on that stage and look out over the field, just would be an awesome thing, but history always gets destroyed to a point.
@@glengamble526 the size was huge. It was also slapped together. How are you going to display it?
@@joewilshire7610 It was untreated plywood. Would you paint it? 10 years ad it would be some saw dust
Should of been assembled on the original site and covered from the elements for future generations to see. Imagine that.
Who'd pay for that?

Fantastic.
Very Cooley O.......... Recently I seen a music video an part of it was building the stage .I recognized the name on the plywood
I have to say that while it may be pieces of the performance stage floor it can also be from the stage access bridge which had similar painted walls on it, the unpainted sheets were used in many areas : on the tower platforms, walls in the artist compound barricades etc etc. The section that was painted on main stage was a strip about 2 feet wide across the centerline of the turntable where the two halves were connected together. The piece that RIchie Havens backing guitarist Paul Williams is sitting on was 2 fully painted sheets that were a 'test' to see what a painted stage floor would look like etc . The stage was far from completed and there was no time to paint anything as designed. This info is directly from my colleague Chip Monck btw.
I worked stage security at Woodstock. Chip was an amazing, calming influence and a sensational master of ceremonies.. Glad he is still alive. Send him my best.
I saw the Leslie Keyboard they used at Woodstock in Neil Shone's studio in Alameda CA, when l did some recording there. It sounds sweet on my tape!
Amazing!
There is a woodworker in West Virginia who has a piece of the stage he has now made into shavings and will put a small piece in his relics to sell with certificate of authenticity! He knows this guy in this video! Crazy what a small world after watching this I had to go order from Cut N Create Woodsmithing. My peace dove is currently being made!
"If you want me to take a dump in a box, and mark it guaranteed I will... I've got spare time." Comes with certificate of authority that was written by someone who appointed himself the authority. HA. What a scam.
There is one born every minute
i'm glad to see someone sees this for what it is...a scam!
Need guitars made outa that wood
no, it would be too powerful. like the pick of destiny....
The industrial boom started around 20 years before. Free love . Drugs. Cults rising in. And now look at us.
The Hippy movement was the beginning of the end of the U.S.A..
Bingo
Yeah I heard smoking reefer leads to listening to the jazz music! This must be stopped!
The pieces of the original stage should be incorporated into the stage at a new Woodstock Festival Reunion 2023. The majority of us that attended the original festival would love to attend Woodstock Reunion 2023!
the majority of you that attended the original festival are on heart medication and taking naps at 11 am
@@adamcoe hardly! We are too busy taking the young ladies in their 20s and 30s of today out because some young “men” of today are not manly and are not “capable” of pleasing them.
Pete Smith, you're not taking 20 and 30 year old girls out. You are old enough to be their grandpa. Go and take your medicine and get to bed, it's 8pm.

I can easily infer that Jimi,Pete,Jerry, would all say something like "Its Just F ing Plywood man"
Reminds me of when people used to sell "pieces of Christ's cross". How do we know each pendant for sure contains a piece of the actual stage?
What a shame it wasn't preserved wtf

Very cool, I was 9, I remember thinking, shit, I'm too young, I couldn't wait to get older.lol
One thing you don't hear often is yeah it was free, after they broke down the fences and forced their way in and the organizers had no choice. Those guys invested everything they had, you know for them it was about making a profit, and there's nothing wrong with that. They lost their asses on this one, the only thing that saved them was the film that turned out to be a hit. Woodstock was never supposed to be a free festival.
I think everybody knows that to be honest. Think you would have to live on the moon to not know it. It's even explained it the documentary.
@@glenndouglas8822 I seriously doubt that, in fact I've met no less than two people that didn't know that, so I edified them with several pie charts explaining it all. The More You Know! Seriously though, you never know what people are aware of. I just saw a comment yesterday on a video of The Who at Woodstock and the guy said no one even remembers that they were there. I just had to laugh at that one. No one remembers the Who's legendary performance at Woodstock, REALLY? OK if you say so.
the Soundtrack Album made more money than the Film
@@gelmann2 That film and the soundtrack were the two things that saved them. Suppose it took twenty years but at least it's here for posterity.
Very well known and documented facts that are "hear[d] often."
Cause the name "Woodstock" has been bought and used now as a corporation. Seems insane considering how counter-cultural the actual concert was.
A counter-culture concert organised by capitalist Michael Lang, who successfully disguised himself as a hippy.
Have you considered donating that portion of the Woodstock stage to the Tock & Roll Hall Of Fame???
I found a chunk of plywood that Jimi Hendrix himself stood on, only problem is you are going to have to take my word on it - $500,000 [or best offer !]
Concert may have been free, but pieces of the stage sure aren't. That's sure in the spirit of Woodstock. 😂
"Oh, my God! We found this incredible piece of history still intact after half a century! Of course, we chopped it up and sold it for a few bucks."... Unbelievable. The entire thing should have been given or sold to the musuem at Bethel. What a shame.
The green grass area that was fence in next to the stage. What was it use for ??
Eric Cartman does not smile when you mention Woodstock.

@@bladynw he hates hippies.
They're still trying to sell it!
I’m surprised Fender Custom Shop haven’t yet bought some of the stage to construct a commemorative Stratocaster and Telecaster, similar to the “ Hollywood Bowl benches “ Guitars.
Among other reasons, it's because the benches were likely hardwood (useful for guitars) whereas plywood is typically soft wood (not useful). Not to mention it's been sitting outside for 50 years.
How many years can they continue to sell this stage wood? Apparently forever.
This is silly. It's just a bit of processed wood. Next you'll be digging out the old cesspits looking for the DNA of some now-ancient/-dead rocker.
I can just TELL you are a Millennial by this post.
🤣
I suggest you talk to some folks who were actually there. You generation obviously has no clue.
@@michaelpaysour2151 I was actually 9 at the time and lived in that generation.
I don't need to speak with anybody.
However, I wish they would've sent the remains to the Smithsonian Institute.
That's where it belongs.

@@michaelpaysour2151 hippies only accomplishments are getting high and pretending that they did something special. well that and murdering Sharon Tate and eight others.
Im gunna need a dna test on that wood. If it has the sweat of Hendrixs in it im all down with it.
Knew a guy in VT in late 80s who told me that he was the head of construction at Woodstock. He was a skilled and hard working man named Roman. I think he told me one of his guys got run over by a truck there.
Roman was very popular name in Poland then, he probably was Pole.
My father was one of the local carpenters hired to help construct the stage. He is 83 now, but still remembers the job very well. I was 8 at the time and remember all of the activity during those days. I will ask my Dad about Roman and the guy that got run over and show him this video to see the stage pieces again. It will make him smile.
@Rick Nelson Roman is his first name, I can't remember his last name, please comment back after you've talked to your Dad, thanks.
THAT NEEDS TO BE IN A MUSEUM!! in one piece. Behind glass, at least. How are we going to reproduce archival footage in the future without preserving these. People wiping their hands on it, is further ruining the pieces. It's almost too late, and it's all because of money.
ruining the pieces that have been outside for 50 years? unlikely
@@adamcoe From further damage. Like how we are able to determine weathering patterns for the 4.5k year old great pyramid, by how the sand is layered out around it.
I was born in 1961 and selling little pieces of the stage is the kind of thing that generation was (mine too) against. Not the spirit of Woodstock at all. Bad on you. Peace from Montreal. Not far from Bethel NY.
Woodstock is Snoopy's friend.
What about the stage from Woodstock II? Oh, that's right. It burned in the riot.
I say re build the stage right where it was with the usable pieces
The stage is literally Wood stock
This generation destroyed everything.
Like what?
Were can i buy a piece ?
Even at the time, this wasn't much of a concert. Yes, big names but the sound was awful. The weather was miserable. The performances were subpar. The only reason for the hype is the number of people and the bad drugs. Anyone that went there and said that it was good was probably uncoscience in the free-clinic tent for 3 days.
I guess your daddy paid your college tuition and put you in a bmw.
It shows.
I visited Bethel back in 2014 and it was a great experience. The museum is worthless. Not many prized possessions there except for a jacket, some ticket stubs and a retrofitted VW Van. The real experience is the original site of the concert.
Any items or memorabilia of Jim Morrison / Doors? Just wondering 🤔.
They didn't play.
Ok, so they found PART of the stage, a really small part.
When you took a piece of the stage to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame did they charge you $10,000 to get in?
Oh ffs. It's just plywood. There's no magic, no "spirit", nothing other than sixty year old plywood. Don't fall for this silliness.
I'm usually not a skeptical person, but I'm concerned about his intentions and I'm not sure about believing him/his products. (Though, I can't fault him for keeping the Woodstock spirit alive.)
Amen.
For those interested in buying a piece of the stage... I have a piece of bridge to sell. Lol!
It’s too big to keep intact. Maybe chopped up and shared for posterity but it’s too huge to keep it all together.
haha... didn't know anyone was looking.
it's just wood people!
I believe that plywood came from the Pacific Northwest 🤔
so, ultimately, this is an infomercial, to monetize Woodstock. Yikes, SO un Woodstock, please. NEXT.
To bad Jimi didn't burn his guitar on that stage..............................well, maybe it was a good that he didn't.
Yeah that's because somebody used it to build a house

Um, it's a bunch of wood - not the ark of the covenant.
This is wrong to cut up, I guess this event wasn't so big. Since this idiot want to cut the stage up. Wish he never went back to find it. Greed is all he wants.
It hasn't been a stage for years.. it's a handball court he is cutting up.

I had to close the page to stop the autoplaying music.
Corporate greed destroyed the stage that stood for the exact opposite
Bullshit. Woodstock was planned as a commercial enterprise.
"Three days and peace and music" was nothing more than a catch phrase
Famous speeches ? There are precisely ZERO 'famous speeches' from woodstock - what are you going on about ?
Americans are real good at being a victim, then using it as a weapon of motivation, a very strange and odd way to go about life.
