According to this UA-cam video, he either was measured not accurately, or he shrunk eight tenths of an inch the last time they measured him.
I dont believe that the news outlets of the day were aware of his last measurement of 8' 11.1" and the last they knew of, depending on the source, went from 8'8" to the one cited 8'10.3". But we all know now he was 8'11.1" or some do just say "just under 9 feet." He was growing so fast still that I think it's possible he was actually a full 9' at the very end, as his last known measurement was a few weeks before he died. As fast as he was growing still, no end to his growth in sight, I wouldn't be surprised. In any case, he was still just a very young man and I've not heard anyone say a bad word about him. If the Jewish people are shorter today, like most peoples, then Goliath could easily be from 10.5 to 12 feet tall, maybe 14 feet.... This is not even something he was born with or could have passed on, he just hit the lottery at a young age, and a particular sunbeam or lead paint chip caused one cell in his pituitary gland, to work improperly.
