One side note Yamiks: Although is not as good as PD2 by FAR, payday 3 has been getting some love in the last few months... Some say that a comeback is possible?? (I would love it, tbh) The new heist*cough* massive fan service*cough* is one massive turning point. Hope it goes for the better at least :D
Considering what state PD2 was at its own start and how far it came from that time, Im willing to bet PD3 will hit the same, people just need to wait a year or two to see that turn.
I met most of my current core gaming friends in PD2, NONE of the 30+ of them are playing PD3. Most of us tried it, but the longest anyone lasted was about 3 months before we all uninstalled. We have all full on abandoned PD3 and started playing Crime Boss : Rockay City. All the fun of PD2 and they kept the core game from being some pay to win/Live service BS, with the bonus of the same bad acting just in another game! The game even got the guy who played Chains to do a voice role too. It is more PD3 than the crap Overkill launched.
Somehow nowadays the second numbered installment in anything is either the greatest thing ever that stays alive forever, or garbage so bad it sends ripples across the entire playerbase burrying everything alive.
you know, call me a lunatic but i really like payday 2's story. it might not be super moving, or realistic, or focused, but i do think that with the resoruces that they had the writers really went hard, as far fetched as some of the episodes might be, they somehow find a way to tie it all together pretty well in a cohesive manner in my opinion, sure the way you described it might not convey that, and the need from overkill to add random shit every now and then might've felt goofy, but being there in the community while things were unraveling update after update and having a full blown ARG to find the true ending towards the end of the original story really felt different, so it's kinda sad you left it there as an afterthought when it really was a driving force for overkill to keep updating the game and in the end, if you let it make sense to you it really is a fun and cool little story that they cobbled for themselves
The payday 2 story is kinda hilarious. It's a shame I stopped playing when they introduced the pay to win skins, as I just didn't have time any more once they winded back on it.
@@nicklewis4068 weapon skins used to require paid-for safe keys to provide stat enhancements. It wasn't a popular move. I used to play a lot, but it was the straw that broke the camel's back. They'd been pushing out a lot of lazy DLC at the time too.
Not to mention your safe could be total garbage, so you didn't even know if you were spending money on something worthwhile. That's what Yamiks was saying about "gambling". Pissed off a lot of the player base.
Spent many an enjoyable hour playing Payday 2. Probably the best soundtrack of any game I've ever had, and some genuine tension at times.
Our favorite latvian hippie is back

I sometimes come back to this game because helldivers is such a disastrous PvE
