Charlamagne: 2pac, Biggie & Jay Z Are the True Kings of Hip-Hop
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 вер 2024
- www.vladtv.com - The King of Hip-Hop debate is one that will probably go on until the end of time as more artists emerge and make their way towards icon status, but for the past few decades it's always been the same group of rappers who remain talked about. Eminem, Rakim, Jay Z and Tupac are a part of that list, but many (including Lord Jamar, Star, and Dr. Boyce Watkins) can never collectively decide who is the King. if you ask Charlamagne, Eminem is "just not."
Though he respects Slim Shady's music, the TV personality/radio host feels "artists who have had more of a cultural impact" like Biggie, 2pac and Jay Z are more deserving of the title. "Those are the three most influential rappers ever," Charlamagne confidently states. According to him, Jay Z should be given the title overall. "Ima give it to Hov, but I can easily see why you would give it to 'Pac too."
Charlamagne also lists Ghostface Killah, Killer Mike, Jeezy and Nas among his favorites. Let us know who your top rappers are and who you feel deserves the King of Hip-Hop title below.
pac is the most influential rapper of all time.
Bruno Martins by far
***** Kanye is up there but not before Pac, or Jay-Z
Kanye has 2 good albums.. Cd and lr.. Since then he's been trash.
Truuu ikr he was speaking the truth so they had too shut him up
facts
If we're talkin the LIVING King of Hip Hop? Even tho im not a fan, you gotta say Jay-Z. Period.
Of ALL TIME? C'mon man, you already know the answer. Tupac Shakur. He influenced an entire generation, even to this day. Hell, he even influenced Jay. Pac reached even OUTSIDE of music.
They teach Rose That Grew From Concrete at high school and college levels. It was literally in my high school text book when we covered poetry in English class. Pac was the Muhammad Ali of Hip Hop, right place right time.
Gordon Shumway
Oh god...please *shut the fuck up*.
Denmark Vesey Nobody needs to shut the fuck up for speaking facts, fool.
I believe Pac's impact outside of music influenced his ability to evolve his music making them better every single that came out...if he was alive I believe he would hold the crown...but bein a man from Brooklyn I would choose hov all day because I relate with him heavy and his music it's not only good but the man's had more no.1 singles than Elvis and all his songs is facts...same goes for biggie nas and eminem
Denmark Vesey I can name dozens of rappers that are better writers than Pac. So what?
I think Its crazy how Pac is still fighting battles over the king of hip hop and hes not even alive. GOAT
Y not biggie death helped him to be so big like pac
Umair Nawaz yh it did biggie is seen at the same platform as pac by everyone with atleast half a brain
Livin Large biggie is a better rapper than pac. Gtfo.
Art Alvarez tu pac is not good lyrically. And that’s just a fact. He’s a great artist not such great rhymes and no where near biggies lever line for line.
Kelly McQuaid
Your opinion
PAC, NAS & BIG
James71 where's redman, Keith Murray and Erick sermon?
+Jarrel Ely impact and relevance plays a part in this conversation in which they don't have much
Jarrel Ely no Sir
Jarrel Ely Keith murray got shot by Prodigy and ran away.
James71 well fuccin said bruhh💯💯💯
its a shame he didnt mention NAS or Rakim.
Sharafa Balogun he didnt even mention too short..:(
He didn't mention Scarface, LL, Cube, Mos Def, Andre 3000 etc.
The point is, you can do this all day. We're so blessed that Hip-Hop has given us so many Kings.
He did say that nas is one of his favorites in this video though
Too short?...tf..
sharafa nas ain't on 2pac level
Nas over Jay any day
Nas won the battle but Jay z won the war....
E Haynes The war of catering to casual fans who are impressed by materialistic lyrics over the poetry and art that Hip Hop once was.(...)
Anton Chigur the war of mastering the art of hip hop with lyrics, production, album sales, making sucess of other artists,multi-platinum albums etc..Nas lost in those areas besides the lyrical part.
E Haynes He didn't master production or lyrics, there are paid employees for that. He is considered among casual fans to be a king of Hip Hop, but that is only due to marketing.
Marketing is what you see when YOU think success.
Anton Chigur but its all part of the same tree..marketing,production,etc...it makes the artist complete thus Nas was not complete making Jay z the victor overall. He chose the producers so yes he did master the production. The choice to get the hottest producer at that time to rock with him to his marketing plans its all part of beimg a solid ,great artist. .Nas lacked im that area
I'd put Nas over Jay, but that's just me
Same here
***** Nas over Jay any day.
***** Kool G Rap over Nas though
Nas may have won the battle but Jay z won the war...
***** I put Jay over Nas but that's just me.
Lauryn Hill over nicki ALWAYS
Lordpraisethe For female rappers, I'd probably put Eve, Missy Elliot, and even Lady of Rage. Definitely Lauryn Hill though.
Lauren hill is the best and realest female mc ever.
Yes ma'am
Its weird cus hill makes better music.. But nicki is a better person.. Lauryn is a huuuuge bitch
Andre 3000 I admit she's had some episodes but I truly believe it's just an aftershock from such a corrupt industry
Pac
Big
Nas
Em
Jay z
Rakim
Scarface
Big Daddy Kane
Big Pun
Big L
Toffy Laq Wu Tang Clan members example Method man Ghost face killer plus others I did not mention when talking the art of rapping and real hip hop. For me I would say Em is the best with putting words together Jay Z has the best flow and bigge smalls had the best sence of rithum and rime 2 PAC had the most to say and was very charismatic.
LL
DAMN you are on point !
Michaelveli9 Are you trolling? You probably listen to Beastie Boys and Big Pun. Foh
I'd have Kool G in that list instead of big L
2pac is a Legend
Jay Z not even the king of his household king b is
Original1912savage Let's be honest Marrying Beyonce cancels out any failures Jayz has
Original1912savage LOL
FaceClef Lol if it wasnt for that, Nas would be taking his throne right now
***** YOU STILL HUGGING THEM MUMMYS GIRL?
***** lol
*there's no right answer*
***** there's no king of hip-hop
Exactly! It's only a matter of opinion!
Samurai Jack yo how do you write in bold?
Dech use the star symbols
Samurai Jack but there is a wrong one. Eminem is not lol.
Top 5 yes, What was name in this video is interchangeable depending on who you ask, but there's no way Eminem cracks top 2
Edit: Nas can be in the top 3 conversation.
People need to learn how to differentiate between good Technical Rappers and good Song Writers
Eminem is an amazing TECHNICAL RAPPER... but his song writing (especially in 2015) is average
Nas = Great song writing
Mos Def = Great song writing
Outkast = Great song writing
NWA = Great song writing
Tupac = Great song writing
K.Dot = Great song writing
Lauryn Hill = Great song writing
Queen Latifah = Great song writing
Big L = Great song writing
Wu Tang Clan = Great song writing
Jay Z = Great song writing
Kanye = Great song writing
Great song writing has WAY more weight and longevity than being a good technical rapper
Take that "Lyrical, Miracle, Spiritual" shit to URL or Smack if you aren't spittin anything relatable
Orashi You're being very kind by using the word average.
I don't know, IMO I actually think that Em is an exceptional song writer, but a very mediocre technical MC. Guys like Nas and Big L and MF Doom would absolutely murder Em with bars, my 2 cents I guess
Brandon Standifer
When it comes to putting words together. Em is a brilliant technician. When it comes to punch lines? He's hit & miss. When it comes to flow patterns. He's generally consistent. But some times he ends his rhyme weird. Rakim is literally a perfect rhyming technician.
*****
Big weenie, ricky ticky toc. Trash!
Sing for the moment & When I'm Gone are probably the best songs Em ever wrote.
Nas is a genius. I gave you power.
Tupac Shakur Is The Influential And Greatest Rapper Of ALL TIME, Also #TheKingOfHipHop & #TheKingOfGangstaRap 💯
Gilbert One Star Overrated
I am One Star Fuck no

NAS - BIG - PAC. The true kings.
How can Rakim not make your list for strongest impact in hip hop? To be 100 % real as far as impact, 3 CDs go down in history for revolutionizing hip hop culture at the time of its release! Rakim "Paid in Full", Biggie "Ready to die" Snoop n Dre " The Chronic" I couldn't imagine any true fan of hip hop to not have these Cd's because they took the culture to the next level of global recognition! Pac definitely played his part in the overall face of hip hops finished product but people forget he was merely a student of Rakim! Rakim is the grass roots of all true lyricists!
+TrueCore08 tru bro. .
+TrueCore08 tru bro. .
It's a preference thing you can't have jay and nas
Jay Z > B.I.G, Hov took B.I.G and improved on him
2pac was way more then just a rapper. His overall message is what puts him above everyone else
Nah
Well that depends. Pac might be the most important rapper. But Jay Z and Biggie dominate Pac in most categories of rap itself.
From a native New Yorker - Biggie and Jay-Z are 2 of the most overrated over hyped rappers of all time.
Spitdeezbars How is Biggie a king of hip-hop after only 3 albums over 4 years?
2Pac and Eminem by far are the two most overrated of all time.
JELIFISH19 Quality > Quantity
JELIFISH19 because quality over quantity. .the fact that he never wrote shit down and lyrical talent is unrivalled. He has more awards and better flow, delivery, punch lines than cats who been out twice as long.He singlehandedly took on the west and won.Put the whole east coast on his back.He has like 6 awards ,that's why.
Keir Bo exactly...the amount of albums does not matter..its the substance of the album..the content and lyrical power.Ppl need to listen to R.T.D and life after death..listen to what he is saying. He never wrote shit down...think about it
Lil Wayne and Kanye deserve a mention too, as far as this generation is concerned.
Lil wayne fell off after the carter 2. Kanye fell off after college dropout.
censordat i read your comment on my phone and immediately grabbed my laptop, lil wayne did not fall off after the carter 2 and kanye most fucking definitely did not fall off after the college dropout! some people dont even consider college dropout to be his best album wtf is you talking about b
NFLDRAFT2018 ***** He deleted his comment quick. I didn't even get a chance to see it LOL! He knows he was looking dumb.
***** lol i still see it but it really pissed me the fuck off!! i understand if you dont like this generation of rappers but dont descredit them just because of that
NFLDRAFT2018 True. I see it now actually. My computer keeps removing comments for some reason :/
Kanye is the most influential rapper on the millennial generation. Drake's entire career is based off of 808s, J cole's is based off of college dropout, Kanye pioneered the revenge of the nerds rap lane that dominates hiphop now along with Eminem. Kanye changed the entire aesthetic, subject matter & sound of hiphop. He's up there with Pac as the most influential.
+CapiTen10 Have to agree. Sonically more influential than Jay.
Can't forget Rakim and Big daddy Kane, changing rap forever. To then influence rappers like biggie, pac, Kanye, nas, ect.
+CapiTen10 Finally someone's saying this. Kanye is overlooked in people's 'greatest of all time' debates, never gets mentioned. Unique artist.
Hell no Jay-Z most influential all the top rappers are expired by Jay-Z they all look up to him even Lil Wayne said Jay-Z is the best rapper alive on stage in front of everyone wale, Raekwon from Wu-Tang , Lupe Fiasco, young Dolph, manio, Rich Homie Quan, gun play and many more too many to name even west coast rappers name him as the g.o.a.t the Game, school boy q Kendrick Lamar said jay z is the goat even Minaj said hov is the best rapper of all time in a recent interview look it up it's all on UA-cam type in jayz goat
He's not a rapper though, more like a producer/composer, but he's definitely the leader of the school.
Tupac =THE GOAT.
@2Pac Stan Police Hell yeah
it hurts u to ur soul that a white rapper is better than any of the black rapper
Pun 🐐
@RealTalk exactly
Eminem is def the most influential to White people. That's not even a race jab that's just a fact. Em made White people feel like they could really do this. But in reality It's Pac, Big, and MAYBE Jay that are the most influential to all races involved in Hip Hop. Especially Tupac.
Olayinka Kazeem
2pac=GOAT...Pac wrote and recorded "7 Day Theory" in 3 days. And during those 3 days, he recorded 21 songs. That's 7 songs a day...He finished "All Eyes On Me" in 2 weeks. He wrote "Hail Mary" in 30 mins. As a matter of fact, he released 3 classic albums in 1 year. And "All Eyez on Me" was a double album, which is considered two albums. So that really 4 albums in 1 year...No rapper in history has ever made classics that fast...Plus, Pac never had a Dr. Dre, Rick Rubin, Just Blaze, Kanye West, or Timberland who are argueably some of the best hip hop producers ever. Also, in 5 years, Pac created 17 years worth of material. If that's not the GOAT, i don't know what is....One more thing, at 25, Pac had 5 classic albums under his belt...Tell me how many your favorite rapper today had at 25....And name one song by these top guys today that is as deep as Tupac's "Blasphemy"....
Jay, Em, and Nas are nice, but they have a long way to go before they reach Pac's level...peace
@Jeff Jamal: Tupac wrote Makavelli in 7 days. And he was a beast though.
Marc Regal NO THE ALBUM WAS COMPLETED IN 7 DAYS, BUT HE WROTE AND RECORDED ALL THE SONGS IN 3 DAYS.....
Jeff Jamaal spot on u knw ur staff bro
Well lyrically 2pac is average
2Pac the king !!! It's not about sales !
He is the second best selling hip hop artist
1) 2pac
2) Biggie
3) Nas
4) Jay Z
5) Kendrick Lamar
Eminem
Hov bigger then 2pac ? Do we need to take it back to 1996
Matt Erwin we're not in 96
Matt Erwin and he named tupac too. Stay calm it ain't that serious.

Eminem: multiple diamond albums, rhyming and wordplay 2nd to none, devestating diss ability, none of the top dawgs have ever tried slim
Nas: wrote illmatic as a 19yr old, ether is the household name diss in rap, poetic ability so advanced he paints pictures you can see when he rhymes
Tupac: fearless and raw, aggressive and deep content especially on tracks like against all odds
top 3
Eminem is overrated.

Lol @ leaving out Nas
Pac ,Nas , BIG, Jay
Rakim has to be in there
He could of left out JayZ because Biggie created JayZ image. NAS, BIG, RAKIM, KANE, PAC (Eminem best alive until he dies)
Da Riddler Remove Jay & put Kool G Rap how u gonna have a mount without a god from the 80s till now still hardest spitter alive.
Brandon Standifer def he's my fav mc.however, wed have to breakdown the cetagory cuz there r areas he would take a L in sad to say
Big L
My Personal Top Five:
1. Nas 2. Jay Z 3. Eminem 4. 50 Cent 5. Kanye West
Christopher Carter Jay-z pre 2003
1.Nas
2.Eminem
3.Jay Z
4.Biggie
5.Kanye
I would switch Biggie and Jay, but yeah
Did u say 50 bruh...
agthaog1986 why ppl always trying discredit 50 for what he did for hip hop
Tupac = the G.O.A.T
And that's facts that TUPAC is a true king and legend of hip hop
I honestly don't get how anyone can leave out Tupac. For his impact alone he could make it, let alone I think he is the best lyricist of all time by far (lyricist does not mean person who uses wordplay)
How is Jay-Z more influential then Em???? Jay-Z is overrated to me
GaryInTheFrozen you have to do the research. i used to think the same of kanye till i saw how involved he was in shaping the (hip hop) culture. they've had their hands on some game changing/influential moments
Rolling Stoned
I agree Jay has had great moments and he is a legend in the game but rappers like Kanye and Like Em have had their hands on more changing/influential moments than Jigga Man
From his perspective Jay-Z is more influential and probably a dozen times over. I think it just depends on where you come from. I bet in the dirty south most people will say pimp c, or T.I. or Andre 3000 is the king. In Cleveland most people will say the bone thugs are the most influential. In Detroit I guarantee no fan of rap music will say Eminem isn't the king.
GaryInTheFrozen bruh foreal and how is jay-z better than E,or cube u know what im saying
That's all a matter of opinion, but I think I can give some perspective on it. The birthplace of rap music is New York, and since biggie died Jay-Z has widely been considered the king of New York. In fact it's probably a safe bet that Jay is currently the only rapper keeping rap's birthplace on the map. So as far as influence goes you can easily speculate every NWA member has had more influence than Jay.. But Jay has them all beat in terms of significance.
It's all personal preference. This debate will go on forever.
I would say Snoop has had some impact on culture.
Definitely. He's one of the elite.
LMFAO!!!!! U guys are funny
Right! I believe everybody's granny knows Snoop just for being The rapper Snoop Dogg. Most non-rap listeners know Pac and Big because they got shot and of course Jay because he's married to Bey. Not the case with snoop.
John Jackson Snoop is one of the most known rappers ever, are you telling me he hasn't had an impact?? Don't be silly. Maybe you were born in 2005 or something, that's why you haven't seen too much of him lol
Ross Boss Most definitely Snoop had impact, he had everyone saying "fo shizzle my nizzle" and all kind of variations of that talk. Had everyone doing the crip walk not knowing that shit could get you hurt around the wrong people. And further popularized smoking weed.
Rakim is the most influential of all time period. In order for hip hop to take you serious, at the very least you have to incorporate what he put on table into what your presenting as an artist. And those who don't, never last that long
Dana Wade finally someone talking with some damn since if you didn't use rakim words in your rhymes you went nowhere. after he dropped paid in full and the other three albums that came after that. those four albums together changed hip hop lyricism forever
Yes,2pac is the king of all time
jay z isnt anywhere near tupac and biggie
I'm everywhere, you ain't never there
And nigga, why would I ever care?
Pound for pound, I'm the best to ever come around here
Excludin' nobody, look what I embody:
The soul of a hustler, I really ran the street
A CEO's mind, that marketin' plan was me
And no I ain't get shot up a whole bunch of times
Or make up shit in a whole bunch of lines
And I ain't animated like, say, a Busta Rhymes
But the real shit you get when you bust down my lines
Add that to the fact I went plat' a bunch of times
Times that by my influence on pop culture
I'm supposed to be number one on everybody list
We'll see what happens when I no longer exist
I agree!

Look, man, I'm an Eminem fan, I enjoy MOST of his old work, his most recent stuff is starting to pop a little more again to my ears..But I will FOREVER disagree that he's the "King of Hip-Hop"..I'd understand if they were to say "King of Rap" but not Hip-Hop..no...there is no way in GODDAMN HELL that his the "King of Hip-Hop" NO...FUCK THAT! Krs-One, Immortal Technique or RA the Rugged man are FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR better candidates in being the king of Hip-Hop! Eminem can rap his ass off, but the most awareness he's ever raised to my ears is how people should play with a gerbil up their ass...and maybe ALITTLE in "Toy Soldiers".
K
***** I think Em was serious when he said, "Fuck you hip hop, I'm leavin' you, my life sentence is served, bitch". Guess that's why he ain't making those hard hitting singles like Forgot about Dre or The Way I Am.
Scott Smith Slim Shady brings those hot ass hits
Krs-one is hip hop lol
Eminen isn't the king of anything
Eminem murdered you on your own shit -nas
Tupac Shakur.
the reason there's debate is cause there is NO One King There's Kings.
HELL no, just one and that Pac.
David Langley nah Biggie. Nobody would pick one king. Because there's flaws in all of them even Tupac.
Pac had many but he was working to crafting himself as a person and artist. He's my G.O.A.T

Tupac is by far the most influential rapper of all time! He’s also Top 10 in rap sales. Jay-Z is next then Biggie. Jay-Z carried Biggie and BK on his back! Gotta give Biggie credit for resurrecting east coast rap to masses (although WU was huge then and now). Yeezy & Drake in terms of impact are next!
Here's my thing with Vlad. He can't understand that some people have different opinions than you. He will try and push his opinion onto you for an entire interview when you clearly disagree. Lmao, and most of the time, Vlad's opinion is ridiculous in comparison.. Smh

what amazes me about Tupac is most of his albums are over 20 yrs old (or are almost 20 yrs old) and people still listen to them as if they were released yesterday.

+Bakary Chelsea jay z was always king of NY after biggie died I'm from the East Coast I know I witnessed it all after big died Jay-Z just took off started dropping album back-to-back features sometimes two albums in one year u must be young Jay-Z always been the king everybody knows that from 96 to 2003 one helluva run it was crazy that's why Jay Z had his own song on the Ruff Ryders album because he was the most popular artist at the time. In the street he was buzzin all you heard was Jay-Z Jay-Z on Ether why you think nas said burner at the side of your Dome (come out of my throne) you admitted it because Nas was irrelevant the streets wasn't feeling not nas like that it was taken nas too long to put out projects at the time and Jay-Z was the biggest thing popping the king no one was calling X the king. the kings of New York always been biggie Jay-Z and Nas
2Pac, Kanye West, and Jay Z are the best to ever play the rap game. I give it to 2Pac because he had visions of changing the world, strong impact in youth, and never lacked consistency.
Shady is my favorite rapper but Pac and Biggy are definitely the most influential not even a debate.

There is only ONE King of Hip Hop and it's TUPAC.
Jay Z is very influential both in and out of hip-hop. He's one of the best to ever do it when you put everything into perspective. Sure others have paved the way but what he was able to do with that opening is astonishing.
I've listened to Hip Hop music since 1985 and I have to say I have never seen any rapper more influential artistically or impact not just Hip Hop culture but world culture (see statue in Herford Germany) the way 2Pac did...Of the guys mentioned, he is the only one to have a song selected by the library of congress for cultural impact and social significance. He was our James Dean. I'm a fan of all the guy mentioned though.
sorry but jay z never got to 2pac level ...

Jay- Z is my King. Heart and Soul.
He aint good enough to be the king of rap or NY
Same
2PAC!!!!!! Hands Down!!!!!
NAS THE KING OF NY
Big L rest in peace
How is jay z influential outside music? to a lot of people jay z is just Beyoncé husband
***** you do realise platinum is only 1 million copies right? it might sound like alot today but artist like michael jackson and the beatles have sold 50m from one album. artist like lil wayne 50 cent and kanye west have sold damn near 1 million or over in week. jay last album didnt even go platinum samsung bought 1million
***** im not denying hes musical influence but it he makes a conscience effort to stay out of the way of the media he doesnt influence mainstream pop culture these are facts
***** no. quite the contrary. younger people know him more than older people. jay z isnt that famous outside the us i went to a jay z show in manchester a couple years back and there was so many empty seats
+rkidmuscle How are you going to prove your point about age saying he isn't famous outside the U.S.? That's like, two different demographics you're comparing, age and nationality. Wat
TheJofrica excuse me
not eminem no? or let me guess im one of the STANS because i beleive eminem is ONE OF THE TRUE KINGS OF HIPHOP
That doesn't make you a Stan, Em is clearly one of the Kings, but not *the* King, that's a bit of a stretch.
Not neccaserily a Stan, either that or just and uninformed person when it comes to hip hop.
Jay Z will never be up there with 2pac & Big
Lord 2wice ... When he dies we will put him up there, sad but true
If Eminem was black no doubt he would put Eminem as his number 1. Charlamagne will never admit it though.
true
so not true
First pac then biggie then comes Eminem. Jay z is somewhere there
+Shadow Rogue be real pac and big songs were good not great only reason they consider them great is because of the beef ..with out the beef they wouldn't be considered legendary
If he was black his content would probably be different.
if u Talk influence, Def 2pac. maybe Ice cube n krs one on the second place
People really disrespecting nas like that
Jay'z has consistantly put out platinum level music since 1996, who else can make such a claim?
If it is platinum the how come is doesnt come out platinum??? Some did but not all the time
This foo said Jay-Z?!🤤 LOL, I agree with Tupac and Biggie but not Jay Z 🛑
Scarface in my opinion 🙌. Biggie is harder than Jay-Z ,
Scarface is more poetic and raw with his (he"art") then Jay-Z. Listening to a Scarface album is like opening up a 📖 and taking a journey on what Scarface 👓 and I just can't see lyrically as an artist Jay-Z being on Scarface's level 🤷
Scarface featuring Tupac on the song 💯"Smile"💯 felt like Tupac passing the 👑 to Scarface🙌 The song was so beautiful and poetic and cut deep ❤💯It was like painting a masterpiece by these two poets.
Juan Tyson Viramontes but who’s made more of a Cultural Impact? Jay-Z
2pac=biggie
jay-z=eminem
I feel like LL Cool J should be in the convo, as well as Kool G Rap. They were pioneers and laid the groundwork. I guess they were just right before the golden era of the 90s
jay z influence? hes only a superstar in america, barely sells shit outside of the states, 50 cent and eminem are way bigger stars than jay z
yaya lol 50 cent? no. he was huge for a while. and at one point he was bigger than jay z. but 50 is not even relevant anymore.
Don't let me bring Andre 3k in this convo
not enough body of work ... and im a fan of three stacks
Not enough body of work? Man chill out
SimbaRyan nah bruh not enough
Tim Kruse I know it's late at but here's how I look at it. Andre doesn't have a solo project besides The Love Below which is all singing and even then he's respected and even feared by other rappers. For someone who doesn't have a solo project, that's very, very impressive.
SimbaRyan andre is top 5 all time
2PAC & BIGGIE
Charla had a point this time...
When people want to act, dress, and be like you, that makes you the most influential, and at one time EVERYBODY wanted to be like 2pac. From tats on their stomach to screaming thug life, when your life was the total opposite.
well said
The true Kings of Hip-Hop: 2Pac, Big, Nas, Rakim, Jay-Z and Eminem.
Remove jayz and take big L
Tupac Shakur ! What kind of impact has Big L made though? He doesn’t have 1 classic album. Jay-Z has several.
Grass Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous & The Big Picture
MRHIPHOPHEAD so your saying those albums have left bigger impacts than Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint?
Grass No. I’m just replying to your comment saying Big L doesn’t have 1 classic album.
for me 2pac is like a hero foo :) for real
if Eminem was black he'll be Royce da 5'9 ,if big or pac or even big l was alive jay-z would be beanie sigel....etc
How bout pun
Enlightened OriginalMan Guru
Eminem is one of the kings
Come on let's be real. The most influential rapper of all time is Tupac. Jay-Z, Eminem, and Biggie are all on the top of that list as well but what separates Tupac is he was more than a rapper. His message was the most powerful one of all. Therefore he is the king of hip hop.
The most influential rappers are
Nas, Pac, Rakim. LL. Jay & Em.
Rakim is the blueprint.
Nas is the blueprint of the blueprint
Jay wrote the blueprint
Em popularized hip-hop and expanded to a whiter and broader audience he is the rap Elvis.
Pac is the pioneer who put passion, poetry, and depth to his craft and genre.
LL is longevity and influence 3 decades of hits and also influenced Eminem and a lot of rappers heavily.
These are the most impactful rappers and most influential. I am not arguing that they are top 5 or most lyrical. But i can't respect someone's list if not all 6 are included in anyone's top 10 list.
I left Biggie out because he isn't the most influential to me. I don't even think he is tbe most influential East coast rapper of all time.
Him and Pac probably had one of the greatest Apexes of a rappers career but I am not sold on Biggie due to the fact he only had 2 albums.
Jay Z is way overrated
Nas and Eminem?
Nas big jay z pac for me hit the most with the impact
Record sales don't determine an artists greatness! Therefore, the greatest are Big, Jay, Nas & Pac! End of discussion!
How can y'all, with a straight face, say Hov hasn't had one of the [If not the] biggest influences in Hip-Hop history? Crazy.
Don't forget weezy f baby
I can't talk to white ppl about rap what about him?
JustinBlazzzee he a Goat
Next time you mention Pac, Biggie and Jay-Z dont forget Weezy Baby - Mr Carter
Loay Al-Khalaf wayne is right there with them nas and jay would agree
Malik Crawford he is he just don't got Jay money or Beyonce. .but pure music they neck nd neck ,
