I put the butt cap on last because I use a old section of blank as a mandrel. I can tighten down the chuck without doing any damage to the grip or blank.

The one im working on has the fuji plastic reel seat. The cork is covering the foot. Kind of cool. Wish I would have left the cork alone. Couldnt get the reel seat off so just leaving it and replacing the corks and guides. The rod was wrapped for bait caster but spine was for spinning rod so changing the guides.
