Grimey wimey for me! The way Marco Frisoni (Not Just Mecha) mixes all the techniques in his workflow is just pure Gold - and extremely fast for army painting!
I gotta get me some of those new gray software updates. Always looking for new point ohs to add to my collection. Great video, man! Love the edit and the tutorials are all spot on. Excellent job.
I like the effects on the tentacle dude best of all. White is a very daunting base colour, and this looks awesome. Like an old enamel bathtub in a scrapyard.
What slows painting is the style dominating the GW bubble of crudely shading stuff only to light them again with same value colors instead just to go back the where the model was. Instead people should use the oils or enamels that can be cleaned up in instant, preserve the base color value and that in turn speeds GW style highlights massively because you don't have to redo stuff.
Always enjoy the editing in these videos, very pleasing to watch and listen to what you are saying :D. Will be looking at implementing some of these methods.
Looks like that Grimey Wimey (or the Iron Man) technique would work really well for my Fallout guys I need to get going on! Thanks! I'm adding the first wave to my scorpion's habitat, so it's ok if they're a little wonky while I learn the technique, and YES, I'm sealing the paints so they're safe for him. I'm not a monster.
This is fantastic. I am adding this line to boost your CEO / Google-UA-cam presence as more people need to see this. Thanks / Keep Up The Amazing Work (KUTAW).
Very nice, N! I love the Grimey Limey... of was Whiney Limey...? Anyway, the one that sounds closest to that, that's my favorite. Fantastic production value and great technical know-how! Thanks!!
I really like the "Pop Pop" method, and would love to see a full army painted that way. Maybe light coming from lava themed bases? Or the glow of warpstone crystals?
Lookin' dang nice with so little time investiture. Gonna haveta try out some of these methods on a future "battlemechs for beginners" vid! Solid tutorial 😁
This is a great one-stop shop for low effort, solid result techniques! I'm also wondering how the POP POP would work across a larger army. It looks good and has me seriously considering a pivot from doing my "oops all genestealers" kill team from a classic Space Hulk scheme to something like dark purple (ship corridors) below with red (flashing hazard lights) from above.
@CC Minis First and foremost - GREAT video, I love it! Secondly, is it possible to do the Grimey Wimey technique with GW Contrasts instead of washed down paints in general? If so, do I need to change something with the previous steps or the ones after? Thx in advance!
On technic #2 maybe instead of nuln oil it will be better to use any oil paint? After cleaning model will be well cleaner and you can clean models in batches :)
Maybe there is a daemon infestation on a particular world that only comes out at night under the light of the planets particularly bright blood red moon? pop pop but from above and to the side.
i wish i could speed paint my army. Red Corsairs dont seem to fit any of the speed paint methods though. Clean, red, but with black linings, spending too much time on a model. Just finished a dark apostle and using 15 paints to get it to actually look decent. ugh.
"But I dunno how it would look on a full army. It might be a little weird if all the minis looked like they were being lit from below. I dunno, I'd have to try." "Whoever wins is going to get a 1000 point army speed painting video." Yeah, I think we all know where this is going. Pop-pop time.
The grimy wimey technique was probably my favorite. This is really crazy.
Grimey wimey for me! The way Marco Frisoni (Not Just Mecha) mixes all the techniques in his workflow is just pure Gold - and extremely fast for army painting!
Marco is a golden god!
Pop pop was awesome. That's the easiest OSL technique I've seen with an awesome result. POP POP!!

That was truly dope
was thinking of actually painting a mini soon so this video was perfect.
Right on Bill! If you use one of these techniques let me know how it goes

Thanks Boylei! The set of grays is a worthwhile investment for sure ;)

Heck yea, that's the idea! No need to fret when you have some oily friends

I really like the "Pop Pop" method, and would love to see a full army painted that way. Maybe light coming from lava themed bases? Or the glow of warpstone crystals?
Ooooo great ideas! Thanks m8
Or just a torch on each base or in the hands of the army?
Excellent video, you can never have too many speed painting techniques! 🔥
Thanks Alex!
Really cool.
Solid video, Nick! I love the pacing and great tips along the way 👌
Thanks BP!

Thanks! Glad you like em, let me know if you give any a go!
Where can I get some of that gray 420.0. . Also you have no right cramming this much useful hobby painting goodness in one video. How dare you sir!
I get mine at nefarious stores right next to the ozium
really cool techniques! I would love to see how more complex necrons would look like :)
Me too!
For the immediate need I have, my favorite has to be Iron Man. As I'm knee-deep into painting a Necron army.
For me it's grimey wimey, but not sure if my vote counts
Using the highlander in my minis as we speak
you do good video dood thank do
Thanks! Glad ya liked it
I wanna see a Highlander army to see what you could get from optimizing the process
Do you think you could do a Tau army?
Oh I'm sure that'll happen eventually, who knows when tho!
what is the red ball that you use while painting on you brushes?
What's the timestamp?
Dirty chaos marine.

That would be such a cool force!
I’d like to see pop pop tyranids- I’m thinking aliens the movie black Nids with spaceship lighting as the OSL

the grimey wimey
Neato!

That'd work out great too!
I'm interested to know about that model holder, that appears to be 3D printed. Can you share a link to it?
It's the Modular Model Painting Handle by ricktress on thingiverse, just print the base of it though and slap some sticky tack on top
Maybe there is a daemon infestation on a particular world that only comes out at night under the light of the planets particularly bright blood red moon? pop pop but from above and to the side.
Oh I love this idea, thanks!
Now to just figure out what would be best for Tau
Highlander all the way mr ghost
29 minute speedpaint when
Can you cook minute rice in 58 seconds?
i wish i could speed paint my army. Red Corsairs dont seem to fit any of the speed paint methods though. Clean, red, but with black linings, spending too much time on a model. Just finished a dark apostle and using 15 paints to get it to actually look decent. ugh.
Highlander then paint the trim? Yea it'll still take a min
threw you a sub
Thanks West, welcome!

Pop-pop time.
lol when will I learn?
@@CCMinis I dunno, but probably sometime after painting up a very poppy army.
