You are a really good teacher. I've been quilting for a while and watching your video has taught me a couple of great ideas when it comes to binding. Thank you.
I not one to jump on the “you need this ruler” bandwagon, but my gosh, that Easy Angle ruler is a GAME CHANGER!!! What a time saver. Thank you so much for recommending it.
I'm so glad I found you! I have looked at so many videos on 1/4 inch, scant 1/4 and binding and you are the ONLY person that I have came across that shows how to achieve this in GREAT step by step detail. When you showed me the scant 1/4 I ran to my juki "literally" tried it, and my squares came out so amazing! I said all that to say, thank you😊 ❤. Please continue to put out more content! 🎉I am your follower 🎉
Wow this is an game changer I love the glue method so much easier, I mean yes it takes some effort but it makes the binding look so much more finished ,and binding the ends together 😮 ok I’m doing this every time thank you so much😊😊😊. It just goes to show that your never too old to learn something new 😊
A woman after my own heart. I have been quilting for two-three years and am as meticulous as possible. I love that I learned even a little tidbit from you that can help me. The pressed corners prior to the second stage of attaching the binding down is a new tip for me. I have subscribed.
You rocked this teaching video. UA-cam suggested this video and I'm very thankful, so much so that now I'm subscribed, saved and put the bell on. Now to go back to part 1 and then to 3. Wish we was neighbors.... you totally got this reaching thing down. Now to see if I can binge watch since I can't sleep. Thanks from Tombstone AZ, Babs
So far binding has been one of my favorite quilting steps, but always looking for ways to make it even easier. I already iron the binding before applying, iron it after it's stitched onto the back, but now I want to try glue basting and the unique way you do the corners. Almost ready to finish quilt #4, so it's perfect timing; thanks again for your brilliant teaching!
I almost scrolled past this video b/c I don't have much trouble with bindings. I am so glad that I took the time to watch though. I usually attach bindings to the front and hand stitch to the back mainly because I haven't been able to successfully do it to my standards by machine. I really like cutting the 45 degree angles before stitching the strips together. I also appreciate how clearly you showed how to join the binding ends together specifically how to keep them from twisting. I hate it when that happens...even once is too much! I can clearly see how much the glue basting and pressing helps❣️ Thank you so much for your time. I will be watching more of your tutorials.
I've done the trick with the Elmer's glue for my binding. I LOVE it! I no longer fear the binding. My last 2 quilts that I did that with, the binding has turned out great! Much easier to sew. Thank you.
O my goodness, I cannot believe I have never thought to iron the binding. I am a former smocking and french hand sewing instructor. 49:41 When teaching classes my students often said if they learned nothing else they learned to iron. Was making a fidget quilt today and do like to bind but have always thought I did a better job putting it on from the front. Not anymore , four good corners . Thanks for your help. Probably should watch Video 1and 2
Really informative and I love the results you showed in your video. Well done! I haven't used glue basting yet, but I will certainly give this a try. I also loved your binding fabric, as well.
I tried the binding technique with a glue stick and an iron. It was so much easier to manage at the sewing machine. I need to find the precision tip Elmer’s glue because the appliqué stick glue I used didn’t hold in some areas for some reason. Once I sewed the binding to the back and flipped it to the front, I did a decorative stitch all the way around and I loved the way it turned out. Thanks for all the wonderful tip and techniques!
When I iron my binding, I wrap it on a piece of cardboard (such as a comic board) as I go so that I don't have a huge tail to deal with as I'm ironing. This way it is also held neatly when I move between my ironing area and my sewing machine.
I’m just beginning my quilting journey so haven’t got anywhere near binding yet, BUT….I will definitely rewatch this series as it is so interesting and helpful! Thank you for creating this. ❤
Just finished a baby quilt, so happy for your tutorials, watched others but yours was the one I could accomplish thank you so so much, you explained every step very well.
Thank you for the close-up of your sewing. I've tried this back to front method, but the back sewing was not very straight. I may have try again. When I sew front to back I do a lot of pinning. And I sew on the front in the ditch. Check the back about every five inches to make sure the back binding looks decent.
I've been quilting for quite a while, and still found your tutorial very helpful. You are a great instructor. I typically apply my binding on starting on the top, but I really like your technique of starting on the back and am going to try that on my next binding as I loved the very neat/clean look you achieved on both sides. Thank you so much!!
I have just started small projects and binding has gotten me down till now. I actually got three great corners and a not really bad one so thank you for your series. I learned a lot.
I use liquid school glue (as well as tube glue) and recommend getting (plastic) needle point tips for more economical larger bottles. I also got a Left Compensating Presser foot (higher on right so it rides on the front fold) and LOVE it. (Generic that fits on my Baby Lock).
40 years I have had stacks of unbound UFO’s because of the one process I found extremely disagreeable - trimming the corner off the binding strips after joining on the bias! The cats got involved with the strips, I’d cut myself, binding would get tangled…HATED that one simple step. I never thought of trimming the corner FIRST and then joining. 🙄 Thank you for this brilliant suggestion!!!
It would be great if you decide to come through what is soon to come to pass, to start being obedient to your Maker, because we will need women to teach other women and girls to sew.
Thank you .. I really like you a lot! I’m learning something new with every video. I have a question about glue basting … wondering if it will ‘gum up’ my needle whether I stitch by hand or using my machine. 🧵
… curious about 28 wt thread .. haven’t used it for machine work … is it recommended to use it with top and bobbin .. also, should the tension be adjusted? Thanks again 🧵
Very informative and helpful. Love the gluing idea.
Very helpful! I wish I had discovered this instructional video four quilts ago!
You are a really good teacher. I've been quilting for a while and watching your video has taught me a couple of great ideas when it comes to binding. Thank you.
You’re so sweet, thank you!!
Fantastic tutorial 🤍
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Great instructions! Thank you

You are so welcome!!! I love it!!!
I'm going to look in my ruler stash to see if I have it and if I dont I will be ordering.
Again, Thank you!❤
I know. When she showed a simpler way to attach the strips, my mind was blown.
Nice clear/concise explanations/instructions.. also, you have a pleasing voice. 🙂. Thank you
Great information thank you. I’m especially grateful to you for doing the whole tutorial without any music as it is so annoying when people do that 😃
Your tutorial and filming was very well done. Thank you!
Your dialogue instructions are the best I’ve heard. I’ve added a bookmark so I don’t lose the videos. Thanks
Excellent!! Very thorough, yet concise and professional. Thank you.
I watch a lot of tutorials, this is the best one I have ever seen, what a great teacher. I will surely follow sugar stitches.

This is the best binding video I have found! I am a UA-cam self learner too. Thank you so much for such clear instructions 😊
I forgot to add that your quilt is lovely!

So enjoyed this. Thank you so much for sharing this. So, sew helpful
Tried the glue method on my first table runner (brand new quilter) and it worked great! Can’t wait to try it on my next project!
Thank you. Loved the video.

Great video! Very thorough! Question, why don’t we backstitch at the corner when we start coming down the new side have making the 90 degree turn?
I like my finished binding to be about 3/4 - 1 inch. Is there a good reason not to make or use bias tape?
40 years I have had stacks of unbound UFO’s because of the one process I found extremely disagreeable - trimming the corner off the binding strips after joining on the bias! What is that plaid fabric you’re using??? ❤❤❤
It's from Ruby Star Society, pretty isn't it!
