hey guys, here is the first watch wars since the rebrand and we are putting two very similar watch together and seeing which is the better of the two. Thanks for watching and enjoy
Although the dial dimensions are quite close, the depth is the reason l would pick the Escapement Time, at 9.5mm, over the Pagani, at 12.1mm. For dress watches, l've always preferred thinner models.
hey man, best of luck to you. when doing watch videos its important to show the watch on your wrist at some point. you will get many subscribers if your wrist looks similar to theirs ;)
Although I wouldn’t choose this style of watch being able to see the watch hands means the Pagani Design would be my choice. In the video, depending on how the light fell, the hands disappear on the Escapement Time’s darker watch face.
PD is essentially a marketing company that sees what is trending and makes a copy. Escapement Time is just one man who loves watches and makes them as a side hustle. He also sometimes makes interesting choices. AN homage to a Longines from the 1950's is one that comes to mind. I feel that is a factor that needs to be considered. One is essentially an artisan event and the other is just an inexpensive watch from china.
I feel the same about dress watches in particular from Ali Express, however many big brands only offer 30m for dress watches anyway so it's not a big difference. You'd be right to be sceptical! But, for some watches they can be trusted. I scuba dived with both a Steeldive Tuna and Heimdallr Monster as dive computer backups with no issues and a Cronos 1000m diver didn't stop ticking until 3000m on that pressure test channel, can't remember the name of it offhand and it started working again when they released the pressure. That was very impressive!
nice comparison Wes, it's the pagani all the way for me as i already have one in that colour 👍 it's a solid offering from pagani but like you say both good pieces
Very good comparison Wes. I'd definitely favour the PD. The water resistance is an important factor, and size. 35mm is too small for me, even 38mm to be honest but I could live with it. But that's a personal issue depending on your wrist. Both dials are very nice, but two things are better on the Pagani, just the shield logo and no brand name, great move, and it doesn't say Quartz on the dial. I cannot understand why Escapement Time go to the trouble of putting in a high beat movement to make it look like a mechanical watch and then write QUARTZ on the front. And yes, the straps, you could wear the Pagani for a while and change it later, but the Escapement Time strap looks fit for the bin. The brushed and polished finish on the PD looks much better too. I'd have made this win a lot bigger, and from someone not convinced by PD, that's a big admission. They got just about everything right with this watch. I'd love to have it in 40-42mm though!
Thank you mate and it does seem like you guys have swayed more towards the pagani in this one, I honestly thought more would have chosen the Escapement but seems Pagani is finally changing things for the better.
I like both, the straps are a bit of an irrelevance to me as they never fit, so they are coming straight off and onto a NATO. The uber shiny finish only really works well when the build quality is really good and my preference is to a bit of brushing otherwise I end up walking around with a micro fibre in my pocket. Great work…
I really like them both and they're so similar i can only use their negatives to grade them. The ET is beautiful but the flat lugs make it wear bigger than it really is and the dial colors are a bit flat for my taste. The PD has a better case design (and a move livable finish) but it's even worse in the dial dept, i just don't like any of the colors they offer. The PD would be the one i'd pick if i had to chose.
Its pot luck with Pagini Design watches, you might get a good one and you might not. In my experience there's always a defect with PD. I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, their QC is non existent. Their lume is rubbish and their bezels are dreadful.
Who dosnt love a Good Showdown. Lols Both aren't bad. However, personally I'd buy the Pagani, only just. Is the Pagani sweep a little smoother, for a mecha-Quartz ? Peace out

You just keep coming up with great content ideas !
Thanks mate and I've been doing these since the beginning. I even think one was my first video.

That's fair a few mm of the Paganis is the crystal, the watch itself isn't too bad. Thanks
Great side by side video. Good to see that ET put up against something else. It has been so popular.
Thank you mate and its a really good watch for the money.
Nice review. The PDs with the new logo is giving its competitors some heat.
Agreed, they've really stepped up in the past few months. Thanks
2 years? Better than my laptop

Very interesting comparison.
I also prefer the Pagani. But as you said, both are good for the price.
Good job, Wes.
Thanks mate and you honestly can't go wrong with either
That's great. Good review
Thank you

Yeah both can suffer in awkward lighting but the escapement time is available in loads of other colours too. Cheers
Awesome comparison Wes, definitely both are great watches
Thanks matey and they are really good value for money. Thanks for watching!
I like the look of the green one personally.. good comparison
Its a cracking watch, cheers mate

Great comparison! I don't trust either water resistance claim. I have a feeling they grab those water resistance numbers out of a hat.
Thanks and it wouldn't surprise me, though there are some aliexpress watches that have been proven to beat seiko, citizen etc
My PD passed a 6 bar pressure test, but not tested my Escapement time.

Yo tengo el mismo pagani y lo e metido a la alberca y a pescar con arpón y ahí sigue
nice comparison Wes, it's the pagani all the way for me as i already have one in that colour 👍 it's a solid offering from pagani but like you say both good pieces
Cheers mate and its a solid offering from them, it actually surprised me. But can't go wrong with either

Pagani is my pick of the two, to my wrist 38 feels better suited. Awesome comparison mate!
Its a really solid choice mate, thanks for watching
Id have the Escapement. I like the look better but as you said I would have the case brushed instead of polished.
If they did do some brushing I'd be more inclined to recommend it over the Pagani. Hopefully they might one day. Cheers mate

Thanks mate and both are really good choices to be fair, you can't go too far wrong with either. My preference is brushed too.
I wonder what the price difference is
10 EUR more for Pagani.
Lately, I'd noticed... PD lugs are better made. ET lugs protruding like Vampire Fangs. PD lugs curved made it perfect.
I really like them both and they're so similar i can only use their negatives to grade them. Yeah, if Pagani offered a black or even dark grey dial that would be a big selling point as these dials are an acquired taste. Thanks
It’s a close call. I’d be happy with either. Consider doing more watch wars content 👍
Deffo mate and you can't go far wrong with either choice. Cheers

It is, they are making improvements but its still slow going. Thanks for watching.
I don't know what diameter of these 2 watch. Wth
Who dosnt love a Good Showdown. Lols
Both aren't bad. However, personally I'd buy the Pagani, only just.
Is the Pagani sweep a little smoother, for a mecha-Quartz ?
Peace out
Ikr, a good head to head is always fun and both are really good choices. Cheers
Not being rude but it's pointless. If they had a big price difference or one was quartz etc OK
Thanks for watching anyways
Paganæ
Thanks for watching
@@WesWatchRoomGræt 😊
Pagani really 😂
Yup, they've really improved
