This guy though signed and Leonardo get's sacked because Mbappe doesn't like him lmao. He's already said he wants his friends Tchouameni and Dembele. He wants Zidane as the manager. How does the rest of the dressing room feel about that? We have to suck his... or else he'll get rid of us? You can't tell me this is normal or even good for the game.
Also, you won't see me complaining about PSG being rich. This is how it's always been, no? Rich clubs get the best players, not so rich clubs have to deal with it. "Don't hate the player, hate the game". HOWEVER, and I think this is your point, we have to play by the same rules which is what la liga's president was saying. Does Financial Fair play even exist? A club that's reported 700M in loses can do a deal like this because of a "new sponsorship" from Qatar? Does FFP even work? Because you can give him a "modest" salary, but then on the side sign a 150M sponsorship deal as the face of the Qatar WC, or give him properties in Paris, or Miami or a 40M Yacht etc. We talk about salary caps, but thats not going to stop the money on the side, the commissions for signing a contract extension. The commissions to the agents and of course the mother for giving birth to the player and the neighbor for taking care of him one time when he got back from school. There are so many ways around it, and when Khelafi works in UEFA it just stinks of corruption.
Sorry for it being so long :/

No they are not..... But allowing Shite owners like Mike Ashley to hold his fan base hostage while his personal wealth Grew b/c the Mansour's & Abramovich's cause more parity in the PL & exploded Club value thru broadcasting Value is not sustainable either..... FFP is a Joke.... 100% Rev sharing w/ a Hard Salary Cap where Players Salaries are Pegged to a Percentage of Club REvenue
So all 20 Clubs in ALL top Domestic Leagues pour 100% of club revenue into One account controlled by the League & it's divided Equally by all 20 clubs & 50% of that Rev goes to Club maintenance (stadium, repair, academy, non players employee wages) & 40% for Players purchases & wages & 10% for Owners / Investors in Profit / Dividends.....
If Total Rev for ALL 20 Clubs totals 5 Billion than All 20 Clubs get 250M & have 100M to spend on players & that rises w/ inflation - for example 20 yrs Ago that Club Rev figure would be 25M not 250M & 20 yrs from now it will be 500M
but is the Player Salaries are Hard Capped at 40% of Total Revenue that is what it is.... Each club has THAT amount & Only that amount to spend on players & once that money runs out players are Forced to seek out Contracts w/ Other clubs
In incentives clubs to run their clubs Properly & it rewards clubs who are financially Responsible..... B/c w/ a Hard cap if the club gives out too many bad contracts then they are stuck for several years & can Not compete
W/ this system Every club has the Same chance to build a Good team & compete for Silverware
As a Chelsea fan since the 1970's I've experienced Club Bankruptcy, Relegation, almost getting relegated to 3rd Division in 82/83, a 27 yr Trophy Drought from 1971 - 1997 & I've experience the Highest Highs of Football Joy thx to Matthew Harding & Abramovich....
And Nothing would make me happier than seeing EVERY club & their supporter base experiencing the indescribable Joy of Lifting an FA Cup or a Europa League Trophy or a PL Title or a Champ League Trophy.....
It's Joy that lasts a Lifetime & can Never be taken away & EVERY Club should have an Equal chance to Experience this
FFP was Never meant to be fair - it was designed to hold Abramovich & Mansour back so the Big 3 could keep up but it was Never just about money - Abramovich & Mansour shredded lazy fat cat execs at Liverpool, Man Utd & Arsenal b/c they are Talented.... the PL never cared about the other clubs
It's to time replace this clown FFP that never worked anyway w/ a Real system that evens the playing field for Every club......
And this eliminates the Mike Ashley ownership AND the Mbappe crazy contract

Then through the years they had Lama, Pauleta, Weah, Ronaldinho, Okocha, Ibra, Veratti etc, but then as soon as they bought Neymar and broke the transfer market I stopped supporting them.

It's been well known that PSG is an unmanageable club , too many extra football influences at the club - 4 top coaches Ancelotti, Blanc, Emery & Tuchel have all passed thru PSG over the last 10 years and now Pochettino - lots of domestic success, limitless piles of cash, signing big name players (Neymar, Messi & countless others over the years) they have not been able to break into a top Euro club and win something. There have been plenty of rumours of Leonardo's exit for some while now, but even if he was to stay, I doubt Mbappé would have stayed as well. Yes we all agree that it's definitely obscene the amounts of money, and his off field influence must have transpired during the negotiations between Mbappé and El-Khelaifi as to the reasons of his reluctance to stay, so Al-Khelaifi is not stupid and fully realised the future of the PSG project was Mbappé dependent (not Messi or whoever) so he did what was necessary to save his own skin, his friendship with the emir notwithstanding. Professional footie is corrupt (like all sports), no different than in the UK, the FA or PL are both hugely corrupt bodies, they exist to serve the big clubs, they do not rule for the general benefit of all club footie, it's been like that for donkey's years.

Which top level self respecting manager is going to want to take the PSG job knowing that one of their playing staff has more autonomy and overall power than they will.

      @Alboravin 2 роки тому +1

Exactly. I’m not sure why they’re also calling Tebas a hypocrite in that regard as he wasn’t at the heart of those deals 15-20 years ago.
It’s disingenuous to just say Real Madrid started the inflation of transfer fees and wages, because if you go back further it’s actually the Italian teams of the 90s pushing the upper limits of the market and then even before that it was English clubs with the first million pound player in 1979 and so on.
Now it’s back to English clubs and PSG continuing the upwards spiral but the main difference this time around is that it’s not done through these clubs’ own revenues from football, it’s through unrestricted external funding with none of the financial obligations that a line of credit with a bank would typically carry. In short: practically endless petrodollar money from authoritarian states (with no financial obligations) as opposed to using revenue generated from a club’s success on the pitch and traditional bank loans with repayments.
There should have been a yearly wage cap in football decades ago, before even the Galácticos were a thing. Comprehensive Financial Fair Play rules should have also been fully implemented years ago but UEFA turn a blind eye to their own rules when it suits them (and their petrodollar friends), and instead they fumble Champions league draws and mess up the format of their top competition, all while having a conflict of interest with Al Khelaifi on their governing board.
Now the cat is out of the bag and a huge power struggle is at play in European football, with the potential for there to be damaging, long-lasting schisms (super league and non-super league teams as an example), along with a big wave of smaller clubs disappearing.

The simple fact is that "traditional" clubs like RM, Barca, Bayern had a financial head-start over the clubs like PSG and Man City. They got their success by outspending their everybody else.
Anyone old enough remembers the era of Galacticos in RM. The club was basically poaching the best players from their rivals. They were playing what Fergie called "stupid money".
Without huge financial injections, clubs like PSG, Man City and Chelsea would have never been able to compete. There is no such a thing as "organic growth" in football.
There is also no such a thing as "fair play". The team with the most money gets the best players and almost always wins.
That is the reality in every league in the world. The team with the most money wins it consistently. EPL fans like to bleat about how "competitive" the EPL is. A league where one club has won 4 out of the last 5 years can hardly be called competitive.

People complained about Barca, Real Madrid, and Man United years ago but at least they were using real revenue to pay the transfers and wages (Barca not recently but historically). Chelsea kicked it off with sugar daddy ownership which spilled over into other leagues and throughout the UK. Simon went partially at it with PSG having direct influence in Europe despite spitting in the face of FFP. The logical next step is that the governing bodies have been compromised and are simply not holding these clubs to comply. Both PSG and Man City have showed Newcastle's new owners how to skirt around the rules with FFP by having a half dozen related party sponsor deals at amounts dwarfing a realistic valuation. Real may have started the trend of big transfers and wages but they actually generate revenue whereas PSG and Man City fan bases have no where near grown at the pace of their sponsor revenues would suggest. It is making the properly run clubs feel more and more pressure as the fans cry out for the big players that demand big fees and wages but it is not sustainable. This is largely why Klopp is viewed so highly by many for achieving the success he has while spending so much less (net spend) than rivals. Both PSG and Man City have spent billions and still haven't won the CL!

Asian and Europea billionaires ? These are the same to me except maybe that the oligarchs and princes are having more success.

They invest in youth, get the best in class for their hiearchy and ensure that the manager has the ultimate power over the players. I find it rather interesting that SJ mentioned MC in his rant about teams ruining football but didn’t say a peep about MU who have spent even more over the past 10 years. Not to mention, it seems as though when it comes to money, it’s about transfer fees and no one seems to care about the actual wage bills.
MC def have highest wage bill in PL currently at £355 but the much lauded LP who are the showcase for financial restraint, we’ll their wage bill is only 11.5% (314m) less than MC, while MUs is 9% (323m) less and Chelsea’s is only 3.3% (343) less than MC. So we’re not talking massive differences in numbers across the top 4-teams. And yet their performance btwn them is massive relative to small differences in wages.
Then another aspect to look at is how much individual players are being paid because that, more than anything certainly has a massive effect on wage inflation, way more so than a transfer fee. Of the top 20-players wages in EPL the breakdown is:
    MC 4 players
    MU 7 players
    Chelsea 4 players
    LP 3 players
    Tot 1
    Arsenal 1
The outlier is clearly MU which interesting bc they have 3rd highest wage bill.
It seems to me that wage inflation for players is more of a problem than transfer fees. Yes transfer fees def bear some blame, but when the top 4 clubs in the PL ALL have wages exceeding £310m while the 5th highest wage big, Arsenal’s came in at £244m is still 23% less than LP’s, I think we should all be a little more honest about who is ruining football with finances as it is clearly not singular effort by 1-team but way more of a group effort by the top 4 in general.
