@@villainofthepiste8275 LMAO, Newcastle fans trying to drag Liverpool through the same mud you guys want to swim in. Liverpool as at the very best a mid table club in terms of spending, at best. If you mean to say that Liverpool is up there in terms of how well Klopp is managing the team, you are right, but if you mean Liverpool is up there in terms of spending then you are absolutely clueless about Liverpool.
Klopp took over in October 2015. His first summer window is before 16/17 season. So 4 seasons before he wins PL title. Unbelievably 3 of those 4 seasons Liverpool turned a transfer profit...and he still won Champions league and Premier league title. Net spend those 4 seasons was like 80-85 million euros in total. In 3 last seasons, when Saudis took over, Newcastle net spent 410 million Euros. So 4 times more spending in 3 seasons than Klopp did in his first 4 seasons. And of course Liverpool has net spent only half of what Newcastle has net spent in last 3 seasons from now.
      According to transfermarkt.
Net spend of Liverpool in euros:
      16/17 season: 6 million profit.
17/18 season: 11 million profit. Liverpool goes to champions league final.
18/19 season: 138 million net spend. Almost the same amount Liverpool got for Coutinho. Liverpool wins champions league.
19/20 season: 38 million profit. Liverpool becomes PL winner.
Next 3 seasons Liverpool net spent only 60 million per season and the message from the club every year for those 3 years was always that the next transfer window would be the big one. The big window never came and then finally this 23/24 season, when the squad is totally depleted and we can't even field a starting midfield since Thiago and kid Bajectic are injured and only midfielders in the club left are academy players Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot bought for like 5 million. Then I would have thought net spend of at least 200-300 million to build a new midfield line up.
The end result was only 110 million net spend this season. Between Bournemouth and Burnley. And this was supposed to be the big window for Liverpool.
I tell you Newcastle fans that you will run out of excuses before you run out of money if you try to compare yourself with Liverpool and start whining about lack of transfer budgets. Absolutely laughable.

@@AlanBrownPhotography Don't be like Pep and play the dumbass and pretend what City have been doing and what Newcastle will be doing is all by the book and nothing is out of order.
To answer your question it is basically in all situations with regards to competitiveness that regulatory agencies try to prevent unsustainable practices. What City, and Newcastle want to do and are doing, is exactly the same as price dumping. That is to say, selling product for a lower price than it cost to produce to increase market share, drive competitors into bankruptcy or in case of international trade on nation level like China does, to drive a whole industry along with the jobs into China and away from other countries.
Of course City does have an answer for this and that is with fake sponsorship deals, so they will have Ethiad set up some non sensical jersey sponsorship deal and have Ethiad only pay 10% for it while the owners reimburse the company through other channels and boom, City are the highest earning club in the world right now. Or so the accounting firms tell us.
I am looking forward to seeing Newcastle all of the sudden attracting enthusiastic sponsors from Saudi Arabia all of the sudden or signing players on 8 year long contracts like Chelsea does.

@@robinramkhalawan468 Because City was and is spending money they are not earning. They use fake sponsorship deals to create fake revenue for the club so they can spend much more than is normal.
And no, most clubs do not do that. City fans are getting so used to being pumped up by oligarchs that they actually think it is the norm. That owners want to lose tons of money on a club every season just to, what? Why? Because the owners are such Manchester City fans, that's why they do it?
Why would Liverpool owners for example intentionally lose money on a club, when they are American investors. FSG are not Liverpool fans. They are businessmen. same with United owners. They pump profit out of the club, not stuff the club with their own money to create fake revenue so they can spend more money on players.
And City is not a well run club. It has just been pumped up with tons and tons of cash. This will obviously make them dominate the league. This of course does not mean it is well run anymore than PSG in France is.
The solution is very simple. Just dump as much money you can at the problem and in the end you will get results. There will be failures here and there but just keep throwing money at it and it will end up with a success. It's a very simple formula.

Exactly, that annual loss of 73M includes all sorts of areas that aren't included in FFP calculations. The FFP "loss" will have been considerably smaller. And those annual figures don't account for the new Sela shirt sponsorship, the new Adidas kit sponsorship next season, or the Champions League revenue from this season. Financially, the club is doing just fine. But that doesn't mean they have carte blanche to spend on new transfers.

Sometimes losing your star player isn't the end of the world. We may not have won trophies but we improved as a team and bought in better players.
A Villa fan pointed out how they have gone from strength to strength since Grealish left. They are in Europe and are near the top of the league.
Kane has gone and spurs have improved. They look better than they have done in years.

I have to laugh. Newcastle fans are fulminating. They want to get in there and spend billions on top of billions like City. For some reason they keep talking of Liverpool here even though Liverpool is starved in transfer windows compared to other clubs. Liverpool is at absolute best a mid table club in terms of spending, at the very best. Newcastle is spending twice as much as Liverpool, but Newcastle fans want to spend like 10 times more and still complain and to quote you: "This MASSIVE spending advantage simply stifles competition". Absolutely weird approach and lacking any self awareness or reality check.
Klopp took over in October 2015. His first summer window is before 16/17 season. So 4 seasons he is managing before he wins PL title.
And no, Liverpool did not have a strong base in terms of squad. Klopp took under the radar signings and made them world class. 1 thing you should learn from Liverpool transfers is that you should never buy players from Liverpool, they always flop when they are out of the hands of Klopp. Coutinho was world class in Liverpool but flopped everywhere else. Wijnaldum, Henderson, Mane and Firmino have all flopped after they left Klopp.
      According to transfermarkt.
Net spend of Klopp's Liverpool in euros:

I can't see us selling the likes of Bruno, Isak or Botman. They're the foundations upon which the club's charge to consistently break the top six will be built. And besides, we won't attract quality players without them. There are plenty of saleable assets if needs must: Murphy, Miggy, Wilson, Lascelles, Longstaff, Anderson, Krafth, etc. They're not £50 million players, but they'll raise enough for a couple of upgrades in key positions while revenue continues to grow.

This just goes to show that how much money you have isn’t the major factor in growing a club anymore.

Oh I am sure Newcastle will find ways to cook the books just like City did. Would you believe that City is the highest earning club in Europe, that would be news to me but that is what their accounting firm tell us. Reportedly Ethiad is only paying 10% of the shirt deal with City.
A lot of Saudi Arabian fake sponsorship deals will be incoming now where Newcastle will get better shirt deals than Liverpool and United. I would call that artificial deals. And FFP is not artificially holding anyone back, they are straight up attempting and failing badly to prevent those kind of artificial revenue.
Newcastle will also be signing players on 8 year long contracts or some non sense like that, just like Chelsea does to prevent FFP interfering with reckless spending.
FFP is furthermore not preventing any club to spend the money they have, what you mean is FFP tries to to prevent owners from dumping money into a club, pretend it is the clubs money or revenue and outspend other clubs. But I am sure Newcastle and City fans would be quite happy to make this a 1-2 team farmers league like the Bundesliga are Ligue 1. Thankfully by far the most of us disagree.
Pfft Newcastle being held back. I got to laugh. Net spend 410 million Euros since new owners came in. We Liverpool fans are lucky if we get half that budget at same time.

FFP is (as far as my basic understanding goes) a great thing in order to protect smaller clubs from over spending and putting themselves at risk, however it also massively protects the already established powerhouses I.e Manchester’s. Arsenals etc as these clubs already have huge incomes from multiple resources (league positions, sponsors) so how do clubs like palace, Brighton etc close the gap,

The issue is that like it or not FFP is working towards strengthening the teams with the strongest squads. Like Simon says, commercial revenue comes from results on the pitch. Yet teams out side the top few are restricted in who they can buy. The likes of Newcastle are unable to compete for the top players as their current revenue is less that 50% than the likes of City or Liverpool, that also translates to wages - the top players preferring moves to wealthier clubs. I would love someone to do an analysis of each prem club wrt income, entire squad value, and top salaries - I think that would be an eye opener and a clear demonstration of how FFP is stifling competition. I'm afraid FFP does not work in this respect, more like FUP

"meaning no restrictions, sanctions or any hindrance from FA, UEFA or FIFA"
You are sadly mistaken if you think that is what the super league is set up to be. Why would Liverpool and Man United want to start that kind of a league when their main objective is to fleece the clubs of cash. It is to prevent relegation. Make everything really profitable. Put salary cap on all clubs. Make it like the NBA where the owners always make money. Next there will be a suggestion of same kind of transfer policies. Like a draft and trading players. If you are not competitive, no worries, we will give you the right to draft the biggest talent. Do you want to sign a player, oh sorry, we don't want that, we just trade players.

Look at all the academy players we’ve sold at virtually 100% profit.

Really simply actually, they win 🏆. City are a UCL constant and go deep into the competition each year. City have been top of the league or thereabouts for that period as well. The more you win, the more money you’ll have to spend. Newcastle need to win & the rest will take care of itself

Newcastle had a cracking good season last year but have been found out a little this season and they’re still a long! Way off the elite clubs the big 6 but considering where they’ve come from! The club and the fans will be happy with a top half table finish

Found out how? Only problem this season for us was the injuries, I mean we were starting cl games with multiple keepers on the bench as we had no players.

Newcastle should do what City did and just have a bunch of Saudi Arabian companies ‘sponsor’ them.. if they don’t throw the book at City just shut down the premier league, absolute scam

@@herrzyklonCity admitted it years ago and they were found guilty and charged by UEFA.. Only reason they got away with a slap on the wrist was because most of the evidence was time barred, City dragged their feet, refused to cooperate, UEFA were incompetent and by the time they charged em most of the evidence had to be thrown out.. They’re refusing to cooperate again but time bars ain’t saving them this time..
