  • In this unboxing video we get a first look at two new watches from an esteemed German watchmaker, the Nomos Glashütte Ahoi neomatik siren white and the Nomos Glashütte Club neomatik siren white from its popular Aqua collection-just in time for summer holiday season.
These two watches exude a light, summery, Wimbledon white vibe, either of which should go a long way toward solving the perennial “which watch to take on holiday” problem that besets so many a Watchuseek member, particularly at this time of year.
The watches will be available online from Monday, July 9. Club neomatik Siren White will sell for $3,040 and Ahoi neomatik Siren White will sell for $4,020

I love NOMOS. They basically apply excellent watch making to the modern world. With the advent of the Internet and the explosion of type-driven communication in new media, there has also been an explosion of innovation in typography and font design over the past 2-3 decades. While pretty much every other watch brand have been either iterating on designs that are stuck in the 70s, are obvious homages to Rolex designs, which themselves have been stuck since the 70s, or are deliberate resurrections of even older vintage designs, NOMOS has uniquely looked forward, doing a superb job of utilizing modern typography for a more relaxed and younger sensibility in a way that make their watches fit with the now. I mean, where else are you going to find a completely in-house developed mechanical watch with 200m water resistance that's under 10mm thick with a bezel that's ~2mm thick? Truly unique watches with strong, cohesive, and unique identity.

Great review. Just got the Siren red version and there aren't too many reviews on it and no video reviews, so this was super helpful in terms of how it looks on the wrist and seeing the beautiful caseback.

I really Love that timeless design. I think in future Nomos can get a big player.

I really appreciate the quality and all the truly in-house design/manufacturing, I do want to add one to the collection. but most always look weird on my wrist, with the weird longs, often too long lugs and gap between case and strap. Also many wear very small, like these in the video look too small on the reviewer's wrist in my opinion. I did find one I like on my wrist but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

The Ahoi is really nice, but the look is too similar to the überklassik Tangente. Even without the sexy Cali-dial of the Campus series, Club is a winner in my book.

I like Nomos, I personally would choose a 38mm or 39mm watch, question of taste, I presume. Nice video

Can you comment on the comfort, feel, and quality of this newer textile strap that Nomos is including? Thanks.

Love the video and really like the watches but at that price I rather buy a Longines Record, Oris or even a used Omega Aqua Terra. So much more for your money better warranty, way better history and Resale value.

@@christopherliang6879 I went to buy a Nomos for my son buy they looked and felt insignificant my son picked the Longines as his graduation gift it may not have an in-house movement but the movement gives you about 64 hours of power reserve, is COSC Certified and is a work horse. The case is brushed and polished with an amazing bracelet great history. Nomos only started making their own movements in 2005 and that does not guaranty that it will stand the test of time. The Nomos Tangente and the Nomos Orion look and feel like the same watch the case is really nothing to write home about and the bessel looks like a steel string. There was one Nomos my son and I both loved and that was the Nomos LAMDA but at $20,000 their so much more to get.

As far as your comment about Omega you don't have to love them but it is getting better and better and there is nothing Nomos can do to beat Omega not in quality,History or value. Have you seen Omega's Tourbillon? Don't get me wrong I was going to buy a Nomos for my son and they look great on video but once you hold them on your hand you realice the quality is not there.

The club is too small but my problem is the price; as much as I love Nomos there is no logic to pay over 4000usd for this watch even if they add their cordovan strap (this fabric strap looks cheap)

Amit from Israel really? You’re calling NOMOS overpriced? One of the few watch companies that actually produce in-house movements. Also their movements are en pars with the quality of, say, a Rolex. Paying 4000 for a NOMOS is defintely a much better value than paying 4000 for a Submariner. You just don’t like the Bauhaus design because you want something flashy that looks expensive. Understandable, but NOMOS watches are anything but overpriced they’re actually quite cheap for what they offer

Strap is thick and durable...the problem is the color; it gets dirty, all the time! It would be better if they came with navy straps, instead! If you purchase this watch, you will be buying the metal bracelet!

How do the colors look in person relative to the pictures they posted on their website? I haven't yet found a Nomos that looks like their website pictures.

If they were any more alike they would be twins. I would love to be able to see what you are seeing. They look like swatch watches. $3,000 and $4,000 a piece - complete nonsense just for an inhouse movement? Put an eta in their and you wouldn't get $500 for these.

Nomos are not a massive production factory. There watches are made up by watchmakers. They are designed and completely built from scratch by Nomos.
If you spend over $2000 on a Seiko you will probably get a similar watch but neither of them are cheap watches..
