I met Stephen and Lee on central drive when they were out making this video! We chatted for about 10 minutes, and they were both lovely,genuine blokes. I even got to hear Stephen say, "It's all kicking off in Blackpool!". Highlight of a great visit👍😃

Litter can be frightening
A few years ago when my son was little we decided on a random weekend trip to Blackpool. My wife and I booked a little guesthouse. It turned out to be a minute from the junction of Central drive and Palatine Road.
Watching the working girls and drug runners was certainly an event 😂
Always guaranteed some laughs when you two get together! --------- forget the Blues Brothers it's The Sleaze Brothers! ----- even had a "Happy Ending" 😂

Poor old Blackpool compared to the prom, the backstreets always were a bit seedy and rundown
but it was were you found the best shops with interesting items at good prices.
Like most places it needs reinventing with a lot of TLC

Less glamorous side? There's a glamorous side? Seaside resorts in the UK are awful, so tacky.
The "Less Glamorous" side of Blackpool has always been a bit rough
but in the 70's that was where you found the best places to shop and eat.
Most seaside towns are tacky even in other countries, i have seen a lot of
them and once the tourist trash them the locals give up taking any pride

Terrific video lads. My ex's ex husband had a Chinese Medicine shop in Blackpool. Acupunture, acupressure etc. And legitimate massage. He was amazing at massage. I always felt great for about a week later. He could also stop a nose bleed instantly with acupressure. Sadly it's long gone.

Great video. The phone boxes around us are now book exchanges. When I used to go into Manchester a famous underground toilet on Oxford Road was turned into a record store then a bar.

Good to see you both. Hope your back is doing well Stephen. Blue sky looks good. Those railings would have looked really fancy. My house was built in 1904 and all the railings have been cut off. Most houses in the town had their railings removed for the metal to make bombs in WW2 and NEVER used!!! When I was digging the tiny front garden to remove big stones I found a fancy decorative piece of metal a bit like a Fleur de Lys which would have been in the top of the rail. I noticed an older building nearby that was a Mill owners house had the original rails with the same fancy bits still intact. Suppose it was just the Mill workers that had their rails ruined!! I must say in my town you wouldn't need to pay for certain activities. 🤣👍
It's surprising these railings survived the war!

We used to stay at the b&b with Cliff Richard in the window we stayed there for years it was a lovely place and the man that owned it was lovely too but they had a fire a couple of years ago and nothing was the same

There's some fabulous architecture in Blackpool, it's a great shame that so much of it has been lost forever though.
So many derelict hotel's in the town. As a regular visitor to Blackpool & having stayed in many hotels/B&B's i think many of the failures of these places have been down to the owners not doing the job properly.

Fun video. If Blackpool wanted City status then they need to keep the strip clubs. Most cities have strip clubs and it will bring money in. Can't believe they are okay with keeping those massage parlours but want to get rid of the strip clubs
It's a strange one because strip clubs don't allow touching, yet the massage parlours do, and they are not banning the latter.
