Hey Dick you probably dont read these but you seem like a tool guy so you probably know the poor quality issue with modern tools, especially from big box stores. I get old tools that are American made for peanuts at yard sales, thrift stores & antique stores. Firstly, many items are rarely used as most people aren't professionals using the item for a 40-hour work week but rather a project or 2 or a specific annual chore. Also, a lot of people take decent care of their stuff so the quality is usually good. B, Older stuff was just made by better people, with better skills & tools, with better materials & cutting less corners, especially American made stuff. The manufacturing industry was finally moved out of the country in the early 1990s & all the while whittling away at the quality so Vito has a point.
