My church left, not only because of those ideas, but because of the silencing of objections to those ideas, the lack of financial accountability, the ordaining of women as pastors, and 7 other reasons including CRT.
I can't agree with you more on the state of the SBC, and how you're doing good work. But even though my church decided to leave it, I know that many of the older people in my church would also love to see the SBC following God again. Hopefully it will, and we can go back to it when those practices are removed.
My prayers are with you, I hope that it works, and that you and pastors like you stand up to honor God above all.

So the men seized his hand and the hand of his wife and the hands of his two daughters, for the compassion of the Lord was upon him; and they brought him out, and put him outside the city.”

My take on this is , looking back on Bible stories of the church straying away and setting up false idols to pray to because they wanted things other than God's word . here we are today the new idols of the church is swaying to appease and supporting things of this world instead of Gods word. The church will be held accountable , there are consequences. God is their final judgment . Pray they repent. America needs missionaries to travel all over this nation to bring the church back on line to fear Gods word , Not the worlds feelings.

Even though the SBC has been a leading force in pushing out missionaries, unfortunately this has lead to congregations thinking they don’t need to evangelize because their convention will “take care of it”. Individual churches need to be doing the work and not just shoving it off to someone else.

I highly recommend an interview on Justin Peters UTube channel with Pastor Casey Butner on leaving the SBC. I love and respect Pastor Ascol but I fear he’s trying to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic. Without the Grace of God this will be a mighty crash.
    1. The NAMB(North American Missions Board) of the SBC that sends out missionaries has gone woke and successfully defeated the attempt to vote at Anaheim to abolish it. Now they will be sending out what kind of missionaries?
2.The leaders in the SBC are working to come up with a way to redefine the word Pastor so they can allow women to preach but not call them “lead pastor.”
    3. They are still considering if they should kick out Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church for ordaining women pastors (see #2 above for their way out).
    4. The fact that Tom Ascol lost the vote for SBC leader by such a wide margin despite many attempts to get the information out on the dangers of CRT and the corrupt current leadership tells you the garbage within is systemic and entrenched.
    5. The fact that Voddie Baucham lost his bid as well tells alot. He is a member in good standing in the SBC but lives in Africa leading his Christian University and that was seen as a technicality.
This denomination is dying and the old churches are asleep to the seriousness of it. They don’t send representatives to these conferences to vote they just keep sending them their money thinking it’ll all work out. That’s sinful indifference in my opinion. I may not be SBC but any Christian should be concerned since they represent tens of thousands of Christians in the US.
BTW, Good interview with Pastor Ascol but just seems sadder to watch now.

Evangelical Catholicism in America and around the world is actually growing, while denominations like the SBC are shrinking. This is what happens when you listen to the spirit of the age instead of the Holy Spirit. The difference with Catholics is we don’t leave the Church just because we don’t like the Pope or our Pastor. There are good Christians in the SBC and I will be praying for them.

  • @bobwood5146

Unfortunately, the North American Church is going to have to wake up to the fact that biblical doctrine is the most important aspect of a Christian. As the culture makes greater and greater inroads into our churches and seminaries biblical doctrine is being weakened and ignored. As a Christian was ashamed to listen to Rick Warren stand up and rattle of his list of self-important accomplishments. A close look at his preaching is proving to be a real problem in the area of Doctrine. Many folks actually believe he has an unbiblical presentation of true bible doctrine. And now the woman preacher non-sense. His alignment with the Catholic church is extremely troublesome also in the area of doctrine. The SBC has doctrinal problems from there seminaries to their pulpits. The die-hard SBC adherents are blind to their doctrinal problems. Very few churches today preach doctrine. They are trying to maneuver in the culture and attract church attendance because after all the proof is in the numbers. Rick is the typical SBC numbers pastor. They actually think that the number of folks they can get to "repeat after me" has to do with God actually saving someone. The SBC will continue to weaken from within because the SBC organization has become a cultural religious system. It is sad to watch this happen, but it has manifested this current downward spiral for several ears. The members speak of the SBC in hushed tones of organizational excellence. Unfortunately, is has become a good old boy organization that is growing spiritually weaker as time takes its toll. The sad thing is the fact that the members cannot see the problems because biblical doctrine is almost dead in the seminaries and pulpits.

So, if I took the time to make a batch of brownies for you, and I used all of the freshest of ingredients, and the most expensive, imported chocolate, but just as I took them out of the oven, I spread just a little bit of dog poop on top of it like icing. How much dog poop are you willing to accept in order to eat your brownies? Would you be satisfied to try to scrape it off the top and then eat it? Or should the whole thing be thrown away?
What you would do with the brownies reveals what SHOULD be done with the SBC.

Perhaps only solution is to split from the broad SBC into such as adherence to London Baptist 1689 confession group.
In the meantime if SBC churches do not abide with their own babtist faith and message, should be removed.

I thought for sure that if anyone has the nerve to call themselves a Southern Baptist, that they would live by the word of God. it is not negotiable. Sin Is 😢sin.
We can’t wink at fornication by saying “well, that’s teenagers,”; call adultery “an affair”; call sodomy “same-sex attraction”; call murder of babies “pro choice”; call flat out lying in your face “putting a spin on it”! Sunday worship service Should be God centered NOT sinner friendly. Sunday morning should be believers gathering to worship our Almighty, Awesome, God, in community, by prayer, confession of sin(does anyone remember that?)singing to God our adoration, reciting his marvelous works, scripture reading, teaching, preaching,
Everyone should be catechized with the Westminster confession or similar. The pastor should present the Word, as is, unapologetically, and let it do its work. And what about church discipline? Does it exist? Anywhere? What we have is a nice social club with watered down teaching and “stepford” smiles. Churchianity. Southern Baptist that I was raised up in in the 1960’s ( I’m 70), was strict to the word. I can’t believe the waffling at levels of leadership! My fear is that Southern Baptist has become
“_outhern Baptist”! I am in the minority at my church. But I’m still speaking out. I hope and pray that Mr Ascol, Voddie Baucham, and more like-minded men prevail .

There is an irony to Southern Baptist polity that exists within their strong juxtaposition between voluntary membership of autonomously governed congregations, and concerted attempts to purify the “institutional” ideologies of the convention.
There is also an irony to Baptist fundamentalism that purportedly argues against liberalism, but uses parallel tactics.

I think the root cause of all of these things (just symptoms) is that too many of these churches have gotten lax in their preaching against sin, & calling for repentance. When we get away from the Word of God as our straight edge to guide us in *all* of life, we find ourselves living more like the world, with God like a cuddly teddy bear sitting off to the side, to be picked up when we need Him, or want something from Him. Not sure who first said it, but "Repentance starts in the house of God" seems to fit here. We need Repentance in our churches, calling for it in the individuals, leading to it in the families, resulting to it in the communities, and spreading thru our country and the world.

Good point. CRT and CN are two sides of the same satanic coin ☯️
The real issue, perhaps, is that maybe 90% of people in the church aren’t born again but since they all said the sinner’s prayer and professed faith almost no one will question their salvation. Bad fruit cannot come from good trees. The vast majority of people and pastors in the church aren’t regenerate and it shows.
