What a great series. The glass blowing and flattening process stole my heart. What an incredible craftsman skill to have. Thanks for sharing this.

The artist in you can easily get in the way of learning and repeating the actual technique of the artisans craft.
As a Stone mason / Sculptor of over 30 years, i know through experience that it takes time and patience to reach the point of professionalism, where your personal feelings don't get in the way of " doing the job ".

i worked in stained glass in Mobile Alabama for 5 years. we did most things the way they do, but we had band saws. and grinders to help get the curves exactly right. i would hate to have only a glass cutter and one shot to get it right. that is tooooo hard!!! we did lots of local churches in a sort of assembly line process. then, i worked for a lady who was more of an artist. but we had new tools that made cutting easier.

These are great series, The English make great shows, IMHO.
I also have played around with stained glass, and if I could be so bold to give one critique...it would be that they should how the glass is made, not just the blowing and flattening, but I was hoping for how the color is put into it.
But it is a great series, and like them all, love how they make it almost personal, it strikes on ones emotions and character.
    Bravo!

I do love this series! The only part missing is the fine art of surgeons - brain-surgery in seven days - can they master it after a week of practise? I bet they could.

Now did Abigail obtain the rights to use the poem in her work? She didn’t even attribute it with the poet’s name.

James looks like he's never done commission work before. Try telling a client that playing around with stuff is more important than a finished piece.

I’m disappointed they didn’t cover enamelling - using simply the coloured glass TO ME just feels ‘crafty’ and not really fully completed.
Yes - it was brought up, but not covered as an official part of the whole program of this.

Honest that older lady moaning about everything constantly was utter torture, people like her should be sentenced to 1 million years on job seekers allowance and her work coach is Donald Trump who naturally is the best at everything.

Love this series except this one was boooring. The only part I liked was the medieval churches are so beautiful both the architecture and the stained glass. Amazing how they could make buildings that beautiful hundreds of years ago. Architecture now doesn't come close. It's all so blah and boring. The modern stain glass is ugly and boring too.

    UGH!
    They’re not ‘windows’
    They’re ‘panes’ or ‘panels’
Golly Gee Whillackers, being worldly-intelligenter than everyone else is so frustrating!

"Reflect 'Diversity' in stained glass." Is this one of those schools that teaches Feminist Dance Theory?

Teacher: What kind of art do you want to make?
Student: Well, I thought about something timeless, which represents universal values, maybe victory of Good versus Evil. Maybe a knight slaying a dragon.
Teacher: Sorry, but that kind of art doesn't allign with our political ideology. We want to send a message about diversity to kids, so make sure they don't have to use their imagination and brain to get it.
Student: OK, let's tell them in words what they are supposed to think. That way we don't have to make our ideology subtile.
Teacher: Welcome to the Labour Party!
