Love my 124 TC from you guys! Absolute ripper in my 16 Street Glide performance bagger build. Can only imagine this ripper motor in it. 👍
Always had huge respect for S&S! The T in T143 better stand for terminator lol cause that’s what you’re gonna become ripping that beast!
“The engine didn’t break, but the dyno did, several times.” 😂
That sold me lol
Take my money 💰
Weak Dyno.. considering there are dyno's out there that easily handle 3,000 hp.
I just would be happy with the 124 !!!! Love working with S&S what a honor to be part of the history and culture 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸‼️
Thanks Darrell and our 124" engines rock as well!
You guys put some kickass music to this video
The engine is death metal, so it makes sense...
Quit teasing us, lets hear that badboy run!
After Harley-Davidson twin cam engine sure could learn a lot from S&S
Damn, finally somebody did the right thing. I have the perfect design for that engine to fit in. Would love to see that happen someday soon. S&S is a quality manufacturer I think can get it done. Thank you S&S for making my dream a little closer. Are these still available and will they be available ?
We're still making them! www.sscycle.com/search/?keyword=143#keyword=143&category=1%7CEngines
I’ve got an S&S in my rigid… it’ll jerk your head clean off your shoulders if you rip on it too hard from a stop. Pure perfection
Let me be the first street bob with one!
Looks great , like to see some runs at a track with times temps gallons consumed... (fuel)
"We didn't break the engine, we broke the dyno... several times"
This is so badass
Let me tell you, the smart guys down in R&D who run the dyno are NOT happy when we break their toys. NOT HAPPY. But hey, it's all in the name of horsepower..
@S&S Cycle, Inc That's worth celebrating if you ask me
That is a lot of engine! S&S Super Sick
Man my 107 has a lot of s&s parts in it but this is my next step. New bike next year nope just this motor is all I need
I would love to stuff one if these into my Dyna. I bet the torque is just insane and would be perfect for top gear roll-ons...
It's nutty. Fun twist is the thing is under stressed. We have seen them in bike mile baggers as often as tire melting Dyna's.
Thanks for posting always respected s&s notice that you did not get price
You can find full specs, and the different pricing options based upon styling choices, here: www.sscycle.com/search/?category=1%7CEngines#category=1%7CEngines&displacement=143%22
Now the need for a transmission that’ll hold up to it !!!!
Love the disclaimer at the end!! LOL!!
There is never enough HP
Trukerinfulleffect I totally agree
I wonder if I could jam this bad boy in my 2018 HD Sportster 😂😂
That would be a killer combo, but no go. We do make a 1250 kit, cams and intake that will perk up a Sportster!
How does the frame handle that kind I'm motor?
So just curious can you add a blower to it and how reliable is it.
I put a T124” in my old bobber, had it bored and stroked to a 138”, the frames from a 1973 straight leg, and it fit in with room to spare. How much bigger is the T143” than the T124”? Cant really find specs online.
Physical engine size? It's roughly same height as 124. Fits in stock frame.
I have a 124 ci with B2 Heads in V-Twin Custom made FunnyCar. What a ride !!!!!! I can't wait to see what this Monster will do for GBC Racing Mini-Pro FunnyCar.

Send us pics!
I want this for my Fat Bob!
Very Soon, this will be the heart that powers my 2011 Road King Classic!
Tommi Trudeau how do you like it?
Must not have gotten it or it blew up immediately lol
Its really pretty durable and going to last longer than anyone expected....lol...if and when i build a Fat Boy this engine will be in it.....cool engine!
Hot Rod Magazine used to say "too much horsepower is just about enough."
I just ordered mine... 2009 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. She will have a 143 in it. Thanks guys.
+Cory Welsh how much did it cost you?
I don't know exactly. I am in Canada so there is an exchange rate issue and shipping. Plus I am getting a lot done outside. But I remember the estimate of 17,000 quote to me. With kit and install maybe. But I a also getting ne Transmission and a whole lot more. My total bill is 40,000 Plus. The guys doing my work are Calgary Harley Davidson. I don't want to miss lead you but it is expensive. I was planning on getting the SE 120R but the guys showed me the T143 in a Road Glide and I saw blue flames coming out of the pipe, I said "That's what I want, let's do that" the sound was amazing. I hop tha answers that for you.
S.S seriously serious!!!
It states not legal in California (big surprise) but also states not legal for EPA Pollution Controlled Vehicles. What if any motorcycles are EPA Pollution Controlled Vehicles? If some are, what years?
Will this fit in a 2000 fat boy replacing the 88 twin cam stock engine?
Our crate engines will not bolt into your Softail frame, unfortunately. You could have your current engine built up to as large as 124" with our Hot Set Up kit. You can find all of our engine power pack options for your bike here: www.sscycle.com/2000/Harley-Davidson/Softail-Fat-Boy-FLSTF/#category=1%7CPerformance%20Kits
I'm now thinking of putting one in my 04 Electra glide classic instead of the 124 cube I priced this week. Loving my 113 cube in my '87 FXR til I sheared off my rear sprocket bolts last week:(
Better get some stronger bolts!
S&S Cycle, Inc
If you don't mind me asking, what grade bolts would you recommend?
Another biker installed titanium bolts after he sheared off grade 5 bolts twice.
You should be using Grade 8 shouldered bolts with red Loctite as a standard procedure. We can also recommend this product.
www.hardcaseperformance.com/products/bolt-lock-r
...Yeah...Grade 8 is the minimum for any motor vehicle.....
Thanks for the info guys!
Change of plans...Just bought a '13 103 HD engine complete with 6speed trans fr TX police auction for 2k. Switching intake to a Super G fr EFI...Wish me luck!
Btw FXR has a new happy owner:)
hi, I have a question about this engine, if I wanted to mount it on a softail would it be able to fit into the original frame or should I modify it?
Unfortunately our T Series engines are not compatible with the Softial chassis.
@@SSCycleInc thanks for the information
I need this over here in Germany for the autobahn just one time 👍👍👍👍👍
Yes!
Anyone know if this can fit in a CVO 2009 Springer ? If not, whats suitable please?
We do not offer complete replacement engines to fit the Softail lines.
We do have full performance kit options to boost your performance though! Check them out here:
www.sscycle.com/2009/Harley-Davidson/CVO-Softail-FXSTSSE3/#category=1%7CPerformance%20Kits
Can the 143 be used for touring applications
It is possible, however the 143 was designed as a high performance racing engine. Thus, it has closer tolerances & will require maintenance at more regular intervals. For a more touring oriented option, check out our 111 or 124 offers!
I have a 2020 FXDR, why don't you and HD get together and sell this motor as an option have the warranty all in one
pkg. that motor in an FXDR would be a great match. 🤠🇵🇭🇺🇲
Hello! Will supply the 625G S&S Gear Drive Cams Set Pushrods Lifters Engine Kit for the Harley 88 "Twin Cam. Should I change valve springs?
Yes you should!
@@SSCycleInc Спасибо!!!
Would this fit in a Honda VTX 1800 frame or is it strictly HD?
Strictly Twin Cam HD fitment. VTX is a tough one to make any more power out of. Come to the dark side.
Thats impressive guys😮
Is the t143 a good just ride around town and highway maybe take it to the track every once and awhile or does it need to be ran at the track only???
Most of these engines see daily use and are surprisingly happy on the highway.
I need 2 of demdare BadBoyz !
That monster on sportster ;)
any papers on what she puts the wheel with a Trask?
How about Lugging 2 and 3rd threw traffic a happy Medim Cam ?
You got me interested 👍
We don't recommend lugging the T143 at all, or any other engine, but we've got many "middle of the road" style cams for different configurations.
Can you retrofit this engine in my 2010 tri glide?
We do not recommend this engine for any trike models due to the lugging nature of those bikes, unfortunately.
Can t143 run on pump gas
I want one for my Dyna hell yes
Same
Hello to all at S&S
In your opinion would going carb set up on the 143ci with something like a 48mm mikuni with some mods to the manifold
Hold back this engine from performing or is the 70mm throttle hog the way to go.any feedback would be greatly appreciated as I'm keen to buy a engine but still undecided as to buy a carby or injected dyna.bike will see 20% road and the remainder on the drag strip.thanku from Michael adelaide Australia. I've modded a 48mm mikuni to a built 120ci off rx heads with your crank, 1:75 rocker arms, pushrods and 675gear driven cams & slip on s&s taper turbos with good results
02 Nightrain ,stock gearbox, factory belt drive, footshiftng, street tyre & pumpfuel consistent 10:50s @126mph.my mikuni has been great not sure if it will work the same on the 143 though.any help would be great.cheers.
We offer both version (although with our G carb), but like any engine fuel injection will allow you to make more power throughout the entire RPM range.
Thanku .appreciate the speedy response👍
how much does it cost?
The T143 retails for $10,248.95 to $10,442.95, depending on the exact set up. You can find all of the T143 options on our website, here: www.sscycle.com/search/?category=1%7CEngines#category=2%7CEngines%2FT-Series&displacement=143%22
I'm from Canada, if the borders open and we can travel again after the covid19 is over, could I ride down and drop my bike off and have a motor installed ? 2011 Streeglide
Theres one for sale in montreal already in the bike 17000$
We do not do installs, recommend you contact your local dealer.
Looks great but why should I buy that over a 120R?
Because this has a warranty and the 120R doesn’t, and the 143 has more potential with it’s significantly increased displacement. Also S&S has a higher degree of manufacturing quality than factory HD. I’m having the 143 installed on my modded Dyna lowrider S
Will this fit the newer Softail frames? Like ‘18 Fat Bob?
Unfortunately it will not, but we can make very healthy power with a 128" Big Bore kit for that bike www.sscycle.com/feature/performance-kits/power-package/124-128-power-package-m8
So you also have to switch to chain drive too??? Belt slippage???
Late model belts are pretty damn strong (and there are whole lot of 143 powered bikes out there with belts), but we'll generally move to chain on anything we intend to abuse.
Would this fit in my 2007 big dog mastiff thanks nice
Big dog was an Evo style engine, this is a Twin Cam. Would not bolt straight in. We do make a 124" replacement engine that will bolt into the Big Dog www.sscycle.com/search/?keyword=v124#keyword=v124&category=1%7CEngines
Fuel injection or carburetor?
We build kits for both.
How would it perform with a stock belt drive?
Although we have used that setup, we would recommend upgrading your whole drivetrain - better safe than sorry!
Will it fit into my 1991 Dyna Sturgis? Is it a Evolution style, because it looks like a TC?
The 143 is a Twin Cam, the largest we make for your bike would be the V124. Take a look here: www.sscycle.com/search/?keyword=v124
Will this fit my 1992 Softail Springer? thx
These will not fit in the Softail frames.
As Tony Stark said when he first saw Black Widow: "I want one!"
do you have any info on S&S motors vs regular Harley motors as far as quality and reliability wise?
+Elliott Alameda We feel that our quality is unsurpassed, but we may be a little biased. However, we make our parts in the USA and assemble the engines one at a time here in Viola, WI, and if you ever took a tour of our facility, you'd see that it's not the same as a high production assembly line. As far as reliability, it's hard to make a statement about that because most people buy our engines to beat the snot out of them. It comes as no surprise, therefore that the "average" rider may get more miles out of a stock engine. Let's go out on a limb here...we think it's not unreasonable to assume that an S&S engine would deliver better reliability and engine life if driven conservatively. But where's the fun in that?
I suggest you visit online forums to see what owners say. They are what convinced me to buy my V124. I'm a multibrand mechanic and I would much rather have S&S parts (I've been running their products since the Super B days) than factory any day. The best reason to buy S&S parts are stock Harley parts because Harley INSISTS on using cheap shit (INA cam bearings sucked in the Evo years and still suck!) and highly questionable designs (the stock Twin Cam cam drives, ALL of them).
Would this fit in an ironhorse Texas chopper?
Unfortunately not. Your Ironhorse should be an Evo style engine while the T143 is for Twin Cam chassis only. If you're looking to swap motors your biggest option is our V124.
@@SSCycleInc my other bike is harley Davidson road King ,would it fit in that?
@@GUILLOT1NE potentially, yes. What year is your RK?
@@SSCycleInc I have a 98 classic wife has a 2006
@@GUILLOT1NE Your '98 should be the last year evo, so you will be in the same place as the Texas Chopper. The 2006 on the other hand, may be able to receive the 143 as a transplant. You can find all of our 143 options here: www.sscycle.com/search/?category=1%7CEngines#category=1%7CEngines&displacement=143%22
Wish i could swap one in a XR1200
Love It
Compared to my modified Buell 1200, this new motor should be making 200 hp !
+Mike Brink Hi Mike, Owning a Buell has only ever been for the more astute. A lot of people tried the bike but didn't understand the concept.
What's hp and torque output of this engine?
www.sscycle.com/products/t143-assembled-long-block-engine-for-1999-06-hd-big-twins-except-2006-dyna-models-silver/
Price & warranty?
$11,739.95 for the black edition long block. All T143s have a 1 year warranty.
This fits in my fxr?
Most likely not. This is a Twin Cam type engine. You could look at our V111 and V124 engines.
@@SSCycleInc will do
What if I've done a twin cam conversion on my fxr will this fit
Are there any kits made for a 2018 street rod
We build a great slip on as well as high flow air cleaner for the Street and Street Rod. www.sscycle.com/products/grand-national-slip-on-muffler-black-with-black-end-cap-4-for-2014-20-hdsupsup-streetsupsup-and-street-rodsupsup/
Sick!
Fits in a stock frame, like a 07 FLSTN I hope ???
No. Sorry, we don't have a crankcase for counter-balanced engines.
What if I do want one of these for Sunday cruises on the street! 😋
It would make it fun, but not as reliable in the long run. For daily riding we would recommend a 111 or 124.
Will that fit in a 1990 fxr frame ?
This is a Twin Cam, but we do build a big bore engines for your chassis as well. www.sscycle.com/search/?keyword=v124
Hory shit, this caught my eyes
Can I fit this into my 2018 Fat Bob?
Our 143 is Twin Cam format, so will not bolt into the Milwaukee Eight chassis. We'd recommend our Power Package (Big Bore kit, cam, oil pump and plate) to transform your Fat Bob into an Angry Bob! www.sscycle.com/search/?keyword=m8%20power%20package#keyword=m8%20power%20package&category=1%7CPerformance%20Kits
What’s the warranty and life expectancy 🤔
One year warranty. Mileage you can get out of it really depends on what you're doing - if you're drag racing it, it will obviously be different than if you're cruising it.
Heat problems?
No warmer than a typical performance engine. Tons of riders touring with these motors!
Hard on...
Great motor but make sure the clutch and gearbox can handle it. Most times stock won't. Upgrade.
How much is this moter?
Hi there - this engine can be seen here with all the details: www.sscycle.com/products/t143-assembled-long-block-engine-for-1999-06-hd-big-twins-except-2006-dyna-models-wrinkle-black/

will that fit in a 04 harley sportster
No. This engine is for big twins only.
We won't say that it can't be done because somebody would take it as a challenge, but the question is "WHY?"
I would buy two one for my bike and another to hang it on the wall its beautiful
Why haven't you?
I would love to put one of these in my 09 FLHX. I mostly cruise but would rip the f**k outta some highway. Wonder what Mpg I will get though!😂
Ripping the f**k outta some highway generally has a negative impact on fuel mileage!
Will the wind 43 go in my 2009 Street glide
Hell I'm going too buy it just to see how durable it really is
Do it! We dare you!
@@SSCycleInc okay 2011 street glide
@@SSCycleInc would it fit a 2021 low rider s?
S&S is great Know doubt about it, I ride an old shovel and I've definitely always had the hot rod bug being a child of the sixties, And I love a sleeper, Sorensen performance ☆ a little evo mixed in a shovel and heads you would trade your wife for.
so your saying no highway riding
Not at all. I'm just saying that this is a BIG motor with all the extra care and feeding that goes with it. Not something you'd want to ride in a parade or down Lazelle St. during the Sturgis rally.
Well alrighty then! Show me the money! Let's see what it can do.
Holy fuck! Let me put this in motorcycle numbers. 2343cc
I just made a mess in my pants.
so how streetable is it i would buy it in a heart beat if its streetable
This engine is a hot rod, but can be driven on the street, but keep in mind that it is not going to be as easy to deal with as a stocker. It's not for everyone.
Could this fit in a sporty...
It will not, but we do make a monster motor for the Sportster: www.sscycle.com/products/sb100-complete-assembled-engine-for-1986-03-hd-sportster-models/
This can be good for a chopper bike.
Imagine this in a sportster!
You wouldn't happen to make this in a B engine would you? Or is it strictly A engine only?
Sorry, we don't have cases for the "B" engines.
@@SSCycleInc What is the difference between an A and B engine? Btw. I have a 93" all S&S shovel style engine that i installed in a '75 FLH. It came fully assembled with an electronic ignition but my bike obviously isn't wired for that. Was thinking about going old school with a single point dist. Any advice would be very much appreciated by this backyard wrench. If it's easier for you you can email me at wmetevia57@gmail.com. Thank you in advance.

Thank you Patrick!
160hp and it's not for everyone? average litre bike pushes 200 hp and is for everyone. what am I missing ?
This engine has massive torque right off idle. If you are used to a stock bike it can get out of control.
An r1 only puts out 80ft pounds of torque, the S&S 143 puts out over 150.
Exactly that it puts out gobs of low-end torque right off of the bottom and then picks up horsepower towards the top so does not for a beginner Rider who has a stock 88 or 96 cubic inch motor or even a slightly modified motor
Liter bikes aren't for everyone either.
@@60viking Neither are 600cc 4 bangers with 14-18000 RPM redlines! Some people have no respect for engine power-to-weight ratios until it bites them in the ass.
