How to troubleshoot G923/G29/G920 for Connection Issue

This video will guide you through troubleshooting your G923/G920/G29 in 4 steps ranging from beginner to advanced. Each troubleshooting step is available below for quick access.
Step 1 - It is a quick hands on to help identify and diagnose if the wheel is receiving the appropriate amount of power.
Step 2 - Involves using G HUB to validate that the wheel is properly connected to your pc, and that your inputs are being received. In this advanced continuation of Step 2, we identify if the wheel is actually visible in the Windows native controller module and ensure that all of the buttons are working properly.
Step 3 - Steam setup; Please note this step is no longer necessary as Steam no longer detects wheel in this fashion.
Step 4- This is to help resolve Wheel and Pedal Calibration Issues and a blank test page in Windows Controller Properties. This step is considered advanced as this involves working directly within the registry. Please double check your work before making any changes.

Got the G29 for my PS5. Plugged everything in correctly. No LED’s displayed, nothing turns on, and nothing detected on my laptop with G Hub. What an amazing product!
same problem here, i have the wheel over 6 months now and didnt play any racing or simulation games for over 2 months, now i have the problem you describe but my pedals work and my steeringwheel has only a flickering green light but doesnt respond or calibrate...

Bought a G29 a year ago. Stopped powering on in 3 days. Went back to my G25.
Just bought another one, rotation locked at 20deg in sim.
TIP: Check 'CENTERING SPRING IN NON FORCE FEEDBACK GAMES" and set "CENTERING SPRING STRENGTH" to 0.

I'm having the same issue. I can use it in iracing but I can't change any settings not in ghub or iracing.

put the plug in more, i thought mine broke, the light was on and stuff, just plug in the plug harder not the usb, and if it doesn’t work it means ur plug is blown out from it being plugged in overnight so find another plug to put it in.
The first 10 seconds when you said to check the power, I realized I never actually plugged it in to a power source and thought the USB is all I had to plug in. Thank you!

Hello, I come publicly to thank logitech for the excellent service related to my problem with G29 and the degrees of operation on Ghub as I reported a few days ago in a comment here. When reporting the problem, the company and triggering the original purchaser of the product (because I bought it already used but still under warranty) logitech approved a replacement and they are sending a new product. thank you logitech and congratulations for the excellent service!

So what I needed to do was unplug everything from my outlet (except the one below, for context I had an 2*3 adapter for a 2 plug outlet) and it worked just fine after. I had been searching for months prior and I was on the verge of selling it but all it needed was its own outlet. BUT, some outlets have less than 120V, It says this thing only uses 30V but it has to have 120V, kinda weird but whatever. So if that doesn’t work then try a new outlet, your outlet may also have some issues so another good reason.

My G920 did the same thing i think im throwing this shit out the window it worthless and had nothing but issues
So my wheel and pedals are not being recognized in GHUB, but there wasn't a solution for that... what should I do? I tried the 4th step, still not being recognized.
Unplugged my power cable, closed GHUB and plugged it back in, made sure there were no driver updates in device manager then when I reopened GHUB it was recognizing just fine!

checked power and it was all fine. All i had to do was unplug it and plug it back in and let it fully calibrate on its own..I feel dumb. video was still great I fixed the issue but still watched the rest for future reference. Thank You!
The method doesent work for my logitech g29... I followed all the steps but my games still dont detect it. Is there any other way so it could work?
UPDATE: i tried the following solution you gave and the C24F file is now gone. It doesent show up anymore when i refresh the registry editor.

Have a G29, green led flashing and rpm all lighten up. Does move for 1 cm to the left but then the calibration stop. Appears at -450 rotation degree on G Hub even if it's centered. Power plug does return 24V so it's not faulty...Any idea ?

I just bought and set up the new Pro wheel and it is not recognized in G Hub. Is this the issue that you were having as well?
@@susansanders4971 No i never had this issue. I had an issue where Force feedback was not working as intended in games and the throttle were recognized as an axis instead of a pedal in control scheme mapping. For your issues i suggest you check the power supply or try installing an older version of Ghub.

- right click game title
- click properties
-click controller
-choose "use default settings"

Please help I followed the last step but the driver did not refresh itself and hasn't came back!!! I uninstalled the correct driver and i've done this two times before! The steering wheel stopped working when a new Logitech G-Hub update installed. PLS HELP

I know everytime i have a problem which I can't solve, 99,9999% of the times videos or forums don't solve the problem.
I have a G29, which is perfectly working with my ps4 (right now) and WAS perfectly working with my pc (windows 8.1)... until today.
Suddenly my pc stopped recognize it.
-Cabled? Sure
-Switched on "PC MODE"? Sure
-Working on ps4? Sure
-When I connect to pc, I hear the "usb connect" sound, but nothing happens, no auto calibration, nothing.
I also installed Logitech G hub (which wasn't necessary) and ofc nothing happened.

Deleted the G29 in regedit - didn't came up after plug-unplug XD
It worked earlier, but now wheel don't calibrate itself, G hub sees it, turning wheel doesn't affect the g hub, only if pressing pedals, it's just flashing on top and do not react :(

Typically when the LEDs are flashing it usually is pointed to a power issue. Could you make sure all of your cables are properly seated?

Thanks man. My g29 kept disconnecting and the power cord going to wheel was wrapped too tight. Problem solved
The very last step instructs to verify that your controller shows up when you refresh the registry but doesn't tell us what to do if it doesn't show up. Why ask us to verify that it shows up if you offer no further instruction on what to do if it doesn't show up? What do I do if my controller does not show up after refreshing registry editor?

I’m so mad. I just spent 250$ and literally 7 hours of trying to fix my damn wheel. It is setup on the PC I’ve re installed all drivers I’ve checked game comparability. I’ve literally done everything I could think of but forza horizon 4 and need for speed heat both won’t recognize a wheel at all. My entire PC recognizes it but the games won’t. Can you PLEASE help me I will deadass PayPal you money if you fix it

What happens when you delete that file, unplug replug, and IT DOESN'T COME BACK?
My G29 has the LED blinking on top. I have tried different power outlets and made sure that all the cables are plugged in securely, but it still won't work. I am able to go through menus and things, but there is zero force feedback and as soon as a race starts, my car just goes straight to the left. Please help!!

@@marcosleiro7721 I actually talked with Logitech today and luckily they are going to warranty my steering wheel setup. We tried all the troubleshooting on the phone that I already did. They are going to send me a new unit because I just purchased it back in February of this year.

I had the same issue, this is what I did to fix it: After deleting the registry, unplug your wheel's USB cable from the computer, made sure I had the switch on the top of the wheel set to PS4 (I had it on PS3), then plug the wheel's USB cable back into the computer. Problem solved for me. Hope this helps.

What if not detected by Steam? Thanks for this detailed video. My problem seems to relate to step 3 because my G923 PlayStation is not detected by Steam even after unselecting all of the other boxes. What should I do to get my G923 controller detected by Steam? I'm on Windows 11. Thanks in advance.

Same issue---My G29 is not detected. I' ve done everything on every website and support site that is listed. Steam simply doesn't detect my G29.

this is super annoying ive sat here trying to figure out why my racing wheel isn't connecting to forza i checked everything else it works perfectly fine on the dashboard it works just fine when i connect it to the laptop i even tried the advance windows settings but that section c262 dosent pop up for my g920

9 times out of 10, the issue is GHUB. I've had it interfere with everything I use my logitech devices for. It conflitcts with iracing. THEN, logitech makes it incredibly difficult to remove the software. And logitech support is less than helpful. They walk you in the same circles repeatedly expecting a different result. If you use older driver software, you'll have more luck. I had to figure this out when I got a new computer, and I just went through this again as I mistakenly got a logitech headset, getting it setup I figured they had fixed the conflicts with iracing, and boy was I wrong. I noticed that in addition to it causing conflicts with iracing, the headset volume was very low. Fought and fought finally got GHUB uninstalled, installed my old version, and no more iracing conflicts, and headset it louder...
What can I do if GHub is not recieving any inpouts like wheel degrees or pedals? I've tried joy.cpl and there it works normal. (I have the g29)

my wheel keeps turning to the very left -450 degrees. how to fix??
I went through steps 1-4, deleted the steering wheel in the registry, and plugged it back in only to find the same issue. When I have my wheel plugged in, the y, rsb, and lsb button, as well as the dpad, shifter paddles and gear shifter aren't registered in the joy.c thing. The wheel axis and pedals are seen, as well as the as the a, b, and x buttons. Any idea how to fix this? I made sure all my power cables were connected well too. Also, when I open the windows start tab with the wheel plugged in, it scrolls up uncontrollably if that helps diagnose the issue.
That's funny... I literally have the same issue. I haven't played with my wheel for over a month and it just started doing this. I haven't found a solution yet. Please let me know if you've got yours fixed!
My computer recognises the wheel but when I put it to any degree lower than 900 (in G Hub), it makes it so that for example when i put it to 450° it registers my full turn as only half of what im actually turning( as 450° is half of 900°) For example when i turn it 180 degrees it only registers it as 90. This is proportional to all degrees below 900 ( for example on 300° it registers the move as 1/3 of what is actually happening) It makes playing with the wheel impossible on most games.

I play mostly f1 2021 so there is no setting for the rotation, and it stays on 900 degrees. I have already opened a ticket and multiple bug fix reports with no response.

You do? That might be why mine didn’t pop up in steam. You see my wheel would do every step fine and I mean all of them except the steam part. You know where it needs to show up. I’ll try this then type back.
All I literally needed to do was hook up the power source. Didn’t think I needed it because it plugs into the PS5. Blessings 😂

it doesn't work for me, for me the wheel doesn't calibrate and it has a green blinking light, when i try to calibrate it via windows it says that the clutch pedal is the wheel turning or something and G hub says that the wheel is at a 450 degrees turn while it isnt, i tried a lot of videos but nothing works. steam doesn't even see my wheel, the g29, also my wheel DID NOT re appear in registery

@@logitechsupport so what I think the main issue is it is not being recognized in the device manager! It keeps telling it is a code 45 and that if updating the driver doesn't work then it needs.the software rolled back. Which never works either. So that is where I am at lol

TY ! I deleted some of the remaining traces of Logitech G29 wheel and everything worked properly. Its from other games messing with it or plugging the wheel in another usb port.Before it was messed AF 😂

I'm on my third G29, all covered under warranty cause the pots wear out. Now my 6 month old wheel doesn't go to center. Its either -2 or plus 2 degrees of rotation. Think Im going to be done with logitech. Time to upgrade.

hello logitech support. My G29 steering wheel after downloading a firmware update from Ghub is showing a failure can you help? If set to 900 degrees on the Ghub it is not in the zero position of the calibration menu. It displays values between -2 and 2 degrees when centered. If set to 180 degrees, the calibration menu displays zero (0) position normally. despite this fault, the steering wheel calibrates perfectly and is not losing center in the games I use. (euro truck) I believe it does not have a physical defect because it does not present centering faults, only the Ghub calibration menu presents this error.

I sent my g920 back for a new one and I have the exact same problem still so its definitely not a physical defect.

@@dk9469 I still haven't found a solution. I opened the ticket with logitech passed me some procedures to install and uninstall delete folders but it did not work. I'm waiting for new support steps. If there is a solution I will come back and comment. I think they should make a firmware fix available, this bug (problem) started after the update.

My wheel Calibrates, works in every single game but decided to crap out on me one day for forza, all my wheel settings never changed and the game just won’t reconize it anymore. Not sure what to do

Thank you! Red flag for me - the wheel stopped working even though LED is flashing and buttons work/device is recognized. It doesn't spin and doesn't "calibrate" when plugged in any outlet. Games or Logitech app don't recognize spin at all. Sounds like power adapter died or cords or something power related in the wheel itself. Sent it back for a replacement.

@@clemcarpe51 Yeah I just got another wheel from Amazon, a replacement. Which definitely feels and looks newer and works properly. So that one was just defective and I sent it back.
hey, nice vid but didn't fixes my problem. last weekend was everything ok. played FH4 with the g920 but now is everthing different. I haven't changed anything and now i don't get any force feedback like befor. no vibration when i leave the road and when i corner at high speed i only have the normal resistance in the weel like in Ghub. can you help ? the only differens in FH4 is now winter and not autumn

You may need to restart your machine as well as change the USB port that the wheel is plugged into!

Did everything up to step 4 and my C262 file never returned
Didn't work for me. Doesn't show up anything on the test page, even if I deleted the regedit files. Even if I set operating range to 360 degrees, I have to rotate it full 450 degrees to one side for it to rotate 180 in the software. Tried to open a ticket, but only found live chat where I waited for an hour for no one to help me.

I give up... My driving force shifter stopped working. It was working fine for 6 months. I tought it was a hardware issue, so I brought it back to the shop, to get a new one. It didn't help. I went trough all the steps in the video, and the registry delete helped me. The day after the registry delete the same problem occured, and now it just refuses to work. The wheel and the pedals are completely fine, but the shop refuses the give me a new wheel because the painted logitech logo is chipped down and you can see the metal underneath.
