We're with you on that! Alfama was one of our favorite spots in Lisbon and we were just there in June 2019. It's, of course, one of the top areas to visit but what we referred to by less touristy has more to do with the fact that Alfama is a maze of steep hills and narrow lanes, and transport options are limited (besides the tram #28, tuk-tuk, or walk which made it inconvenient for some to visit) compare to the main areas such as Baixa & Chiado where we saw more tourists. Would love to visit again soon! Did you enjoy Alfama?
Sorry but in Alfama nowadays, only 1 out of 10 people you see is even Portuguese, homes also, only 1 door on each 10 is not AirBnB, nothing against foreighners, just enlighting viewers, zero exageration...
