The castle of Berat looks amazing! It seems you're always able to find a local musician to provide interesting background music. The "City of 1,000 windows" looks so interesting. As usual........nice work, we really enjoyed the video.
That castle was amazing and I thought it was so interesting that people lived there and that you could stay there if you want! I love the street musicians and it's an easy thing to capture. Give them a tip and they will play all day! I appreciate you watching and I am so thankful that you take the time to comment!
It was very little. My lodging was $44 for the two nights. The bus from Vlorë was less than $10 each way. Food and drinks were very reasonable. I would say the total cost was right around $100.
Hi, I plan on visiting Albania next year in August/September for the 1st time. My first stop will be in Tirana. I am not very interested in architecture and buildings but rather bazaars and markets and street stalls where I can do shopping and buy all sorts of interesting stuff. Any recommendations perhaps? Thank you
Every place that I went in Albania had markets selling fruits and vegetables. I didn't notice big bazaars being a huge thing there. I spent most of my time, however, in Vlorë, which is a beach resort. That might have been atypical, when compared to others cities and towns. Sorry that I can't be of more help!
@@oldaloneandfarfromhome thank you for your response, it is very helpful. May I pls ask you re transport between cities? Is a bus a safe and reliable way of transport?
Bus transportation is about the only option in many cases. The system works, in that I always arrived where I wanted to be, but it was never easy to figure out all of the logistics. There are usually several locations in each city or town. You show up there, find a bus with the name of the town you want to visit and go from there. It has been a while and I don't remember if I paid the driver directly (cash only) or someone else at the hub. I'm pretty certain that the payment is always to the driver. Just do research online, to find out from where the bus that is going to your destination will leave. People will be helpful too. Simply ask, if you are confused.
The view of the town where you can see all the windows is spectacular! What a pretty place!
It is such a unique look! I have never been anyplace like it.

Empty city...not many visitors..!!!!
It is a bit more full than it might look in the video. I try not to disturb people when I'm capturing clips.
