- I recently bought a new car and noticed these cheap adaptors on eBay and decided to give one a try.
As you'll see from the video the installation wasn't perfect, but overall I'm happy with it for the cost. It could be louder... but it's loud enough. - Авто та транспорт

FYI you can put the gear selector into N with the engine off: lift up the trim around the gear stick, there’s a small red tab at the front. If you press that you can put it in N.

I've got the same thing plugged into a 90's kenwood head unit in my old merc. Its about as good quality as you'd expect for the price, but I mostly still listen to cd's so I don't have to keep touching my phone.

What I've done on my Citroën to get bluetooth is remove the factory cd changer all together and I then got a Yatour unit which uses the same connection as the stock cd-changer. It adds USB, aux, SD-card slot and bluetooth (comes with microphone aswell). Its quite a bit more expensive then your option, but it does give you a wired button (seperate purchase) which you can put on the dash and you can use it to trigger Google Assistant to plot routes, make and answer calls, dictate messages, ask for weather and all that.
Cool, there's many ways to do it, but the cheapest is always the first.

I just bought on Wednesday a 530d msport on a 54 plate and was thinking of ways of getting Bluetooth in to it this has helped alot looks pretty easy to also if you get that airbag and seat belt fault fixed make a little video on it mine has the exact same fault on start up haha

Hey Danny, my wife has the same car. Make sure you check if that the module’s under your spare tire has been moved to the side panel compartment in the trunk. There’s a design flaw we’re the rain drain tubes run though the trunk and at the end of the drain tubes there’s a stopper that gets clogged. If it does get clogged it will flood your trunk when it rains and all of your modules under you spare will be destroyed. This happened to us and it would have cost thousands to replace all of the modules but luckily we found that there was a recall for this issue and the dealer relocated new modules to the trunk side compartments free. One more major issue to watch out for is the wiring loom to the hatch is a bit too short and over time some of the wires will break. I had to rewire mine and add extensions to to the broken lines. Just a heads up. Great channel👍
Already been in the boot and it's dry luckily. Got a bit of water in the battery box, but no sunroof. Looks to be coming in through the cabin vent. Will get around to sorting it one day..

I have just got an E60, have the same issue with bluetooth, i just ended up using the aux port in the back of the arm rest

Welcome to the 5 series life. Ncs expert is easy once you get the hang of it. I've been usen it loads on my 530d..
You don't need to start the car to change gear.. Ignition on foot on brake....

If you've lived a good clean life (!) that restraint system alert will be the rear battery explosive-isolation thing or the front passenger seat base sensor. The battery sensor can be bypassed by inserting a resistor in the wiring plug and the seat pad sensor can be replaced (at the connector) with an eBay sourced plug. Both fool the car into thinking the units are ok.

Good job on the aux.. one thing I'll say to you is. As soon as you get an elv warning in yellow.. reset the elv counter straight away.. when it goes red it'll not start and strand you. Easy with inpa or ncs etc
Looking at Google I wont get that, I don't have stop start thankfully!
@@dannyDC2 either do I.. if you have the push in key as opposed to the normal turn key you will get it. When you push in your key you can hear it release. Mine done it last year and the amount of conflicting info was crazy. BMW saying I needed a new column etc.. I bought an Ebay cable and inpa, learned a bit of german and reset the counters.all fine. Done it again few months later. Repeat the steps all fine again. It's the counters the car logs for unlocking and that has a limit I found out..or my cars a shitter one or the two.. but in any case you may not get it. If you do mail me its easy enough once you've done it

Its not good just got mine and its really bad compared to CD. I am very dissappointed. Its even worse than what the aux wire was

think you could have connected the bluetooth dongle into the CD changer. I know that's what you do with the very expensive Dension bluetooth dongle which includes digital radio

I think your airbag warning light might have to do with the fact that your steering wheel has been changed at some point. The SE variants usually come with an uglier steering wheel.

Could also be the passenger side occupancy sensor throwing up the airbag and seatbelt lights. You can buy kits online that bypasses them both 👍

Couldve just bought an anker roav for less than 20 quid and can be used in any car, 2 usb ports on them as well and have an app as well
as said in the video, had FM transmitters before, this is a direct connection to the car audio

Not good. So much worse than CD on e60. Even worse what the original aux was. I am dissappointed

Good job! My mate has an E60 the same age as yours and i'm always surprised how below par the feel of the interior is compared to my E92, such as the heater controls being knobs not digital and the seats only half electric etc. The 5er is supposed to be higher up the posh chain than the 3er afterall. Anyway.....i'm waffling 😅, good choice getting an m57, one of BMW's best engines for power and reliability. Mine was mapped when i bought the car 3 years ago and goes very well indeed. Also it's way better on fuel than my mates non mapped E60. His is auto and mine manual to be fair, he gets around 25mpg whereas i am getting 40!
I find the opposite, maybe you just got a good E92 and he got a bad E60. I haven't had an E9x for a while but I don't recall them feeling any better than this.
My E91 330d averaged 40~ mostly everywhere, this is heavier on fuel. Bigger car init, and auto. Not a big deal really

@@dannyDC2 it's a guess for sure but not uncommon for a little adjustment pot to be on the board itself. You never know eh.
Interesting. Could be worth a look. It’s not quiet enough to warrant ripping it apart again immediately, just noticeably quieter than the rest. See how long I can last with it out of sync with the radio. Cheers
