"You get more wobbles.... And you die!" Love it haha, that made me laugh :). Thanks for the helpful video!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
I was like did he just say that? Yes he did sheeeesh lol
Before, I couldn't stand up going downhill because I didn't trust the speed bumps, but within a week of me practicing by myself, I was able to go downhill, and I reached a top speed of 27-28 Mph.
I just found this video and I'm gonna try to remember to come back here in 2 weeks and tell you guys what happened and if I got better by watching the video
I followed this advice. I've been skateboarding for a long time, not with any major consistency, but I've been picking up boards and riding since I was like 5. Recently I got a new longboard for my birthday, so I started going downhill. I was getting pretty good and got over 21 miles an hour. I ignored the twitches and leaned in without hesitation, while maintaining precision balancing; in four days I had no speed wobbles and had the confidence to go downhill very fast. I got a little too cocky and had to bail before an intersection. I was coming down from a pretty big hill going around 20 miles an hour and I got scared and bailed. I caught my first few steps but then I fell over onto my arm and broke my wrist. This was not due to a lack of confidence or ability, surely only a mistake on my part for not being careful enough. luckily I was not seriously injured and only have to wear a cast for 3 months, but be careful everyone! I followed this guy's advice and if I didn't who knows how bad it could have been... confidence is key, hesitation will get you killed, and thinking will drive you crazy. #freetheeyeball
Glad you're ok for the most part man. Please pick up a helmet and slide gloves. They will keep you safe. I also hope your longboard is designed for downhill too.
Stay safe man
A public service announcement or grammatical error? 'I've been picking up boys and riding since I was like 5'.
@@jed88 grammatical error lol
There’s so much information in one video. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Hope not an overload of info
I would love to try out these tips but for the next few months its freezing out side and if you leave the house you get cold and you die.
Sounds kinda bad man :(
This is Great.
I relate to a lot of what you are saying in my other skating and learning a lot about the things that are specific to downhill.
Really appreciate what you do. Stay Rad.
Very useful and motivating for beginners. Thank you!
33 years old,20 years of street skating...think my bones won't do this forever,so i'm really thankful for stuff like this video for example.especially in terms of longboard-and handdown-blahblah....so cool,at that discipline i am the rookie, but i also see your progression for at least one year.go on,dude!!!
Happy to help bro!
Thanks for producing such a very comprehensive longboarding video.. I've learned more from watching your single video compared to watching over 20 other related videos..
Haha, thats the idea. The flipside is that sometimes it's too much info for one video ya know?
If I win the powerball I would totally pay you to come instruct in America!
as soon as I saw your story I came here to watch the video
Tell him steep.
Bless bro :)
Great explanation sir!!! Thank you for your help
Thanks for watching! :)
Damn man, great job! I've been skating for about twenty years, definitely out of my prime, but still downhilling!!! I love the stoke and the solid tips.
Edit: don't look down the hill as much as where you want to go! So look *through* the corner, and as far ahead as possible.
Great video, thanks man 🤙🏼
Thankyou man amazing video packed with information :D
👌👌📈
awesome video man!
Awesome video, great tips!!!
Thanks for watching!
This is a REALLY concise and informative video packed with some VERY useful insight! I usually sit through these, just to be told again...how useful Shoe Goo is. lol Keep up the good work! *Liked & Subscribed
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the tips.
No problem :)
nice tips man! :D
Great video, Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Thnx a ton dude
love your vids
Thank you :)
Great video man! You are an excellent teacher. It’s so good to have people like you on You Tube who know what they’re talking about. I hope you can come for a skate in Australia one day after all this Covid shit. I heard Harry Clark mentioning you in a podcast so there are people here who respect you bro. And would love to skate with you. It’s a long way to come though so maybe we’ve gotta go there.
Much love man, yeah stoked Get That gave me a shoutout, really happy to be included in that video.
And yeah, for sure Australia trip when the funds come about, would always welcome others visiting me too
@@downhill254skate It would be dream for me to come over there! One day. Hey man a quick question. I enjoyed your segment on Bear Smokeys. I have 180mm Aera K5’s and wanted to put K6’s on my new Rocket Werewolf but getting impatient for them to come out. So I now I’m thinking of the Smokey’s. What do you think? Would they be too different for me? Some DH skaters feel that you should stay with what you know but I’d really appreciate your opinion.
@@cmorsley they'd definitely be different. You'll have to adapt as a rider. That's part of the fun tho!
@@downhill254skate yeah I get what your’e saying but I guess I’m a bit worried it will just mess with my head if they are too different and it’s an expensive decision :-). Appreciate your quick response. Cheers, Chris
@@cmorsley It will mess with your head! But it could be a good thing tbh, worth adapting as a rider and trying something new
3:33 throwing the homie under the Bus :D nice Video, Thank you
Ahaha, it had to be done
This is an awesome video
Kebo
Thank you :)
I have a question do you have any good pre built recommendations BC I am currently using my surf skateboard and It is good for what it's built for mainly boles but idk about speed
My man.
Awesome, thank you
Question - I've got a flexible topmount board with a lot of wedge / dewedge. It has DT Poppys on it and is generally "tight" everywhere except the board itself... Can I slide this thing? It's completely stable at 25 MPH, I guess I'm just worried if sliding is going to be impossible because it has some flex, and since I don't currently know how to slide, I'm worried that I'll become discouraged. I'd prefer to keep the same board for LDP and downhill since I have to LDP to my downhill spots.
Ima get out to Kenya and do some Longboarding with you brotha. Thanks for this advice! Anyway to email you bro??
Come through man! Email me at bugsyaroni@gmail.com
I got a Landyachtz Drop Hammer about a week ago with Gen 6 Bear truck and 70mm Hawgs wheels is this a good board to try downhill (im a beginner and im completely new to skating and im starting to like bombing hills so im curious if this board is good for downhill of atleast to start off with
yeah it isn't bad to elarns lide with, but not a great option for proper dh
“watch more of my videos” should have def been a tip to mention 😆
Haha yeah, wouldhave been good advice
"if you try to shift your weight to fix a twitch, it usually turns into a wobble and, you die"
._.
Brah wanna get as good as you 😎
Brah, one day. come to Nairobi
Wobbles equal die
Makes sence
DH skateboard hack: Learn to kicklflip first
When are you gonna do a steep grade,. So far not happening.
Videos don't show the steepness of roads :)
You wobble, you die..
That's basically how I skate..
ppl told me my trucks are okay and I didn't have to upgrade my trucks. They fucking lied. I had Paris v3 and I did fine eating a lot of shit but once I got my hands on some ronins, I immediately felt the difference in my checks. now I don't trust anyone in the longboard community except you, since you said to get quality equipment.
hehe, but tbf, Paris V3 aren't bad when they're setup properly. but ronins are just better suited to downhill! Glad you're enjoying your Ronins
how about this frosted tips. wear your helmet not a stupid beanie or else you wind up brain dead in a coma i came here to learn but ended up having to teach . not impressed.
