  • So since I got my truck I have been cleaning it and doing little things to upgrade it. I did this to my previous truck and it kept my engine bay so clean. I eliminated the problem and did the mod, it works great and it was inexpensive, around $30. It took me about 20 minutes to have a cleaner motor. Thanks for watching!! I just used the old hose rest was the same, wired onto the sway bar…and no i don’t have much blow-by but ever engine has some i just purchased an 01 4X4 off an old snow bird… engine bay was just filthy! few leaks in the usual places but that blow-by makes it a sticky dust collector.

    I got tired of dealing with the blowby and mess. Had the engine rebuilt at 410k. No more blowby or mess. Not cheap tho.

    Great video! Yes indeed it will clog your radiator. A huge mess up front.

      I will be converting mine in a few days. Originally I thought that maybe the steering box seal was bad. This video cut the switch on. My catch can has been catching oil since 2002, 240,000 miles. I have a feeling it might be full.😂.

    I'd just put a 12 valve tappet cover on it like what is supposed to be on it, blowby ain't the problem it's gear slobber.

    Cody, I just removed the canister. It was not secured, thus it had a huge hole in the side of it.

    My factory catch can had 3/4” holes all over it…. What a stupid design , just like the crap lift pump. I reused the factory hole and added an extension

    Wouldnt the longer hose clog up over time or affect the engine venting? Could you attach a bottle to the frame rail to catch the drips?

    • @Cody96
      @Cody96  3 роки тому +2

      You can but I can care less about a drip here and there and it’s a cheap set up so after cupple years down the road you could buy new hose and call it a day and I never had one clog up at all had this same set up on my last Cummins worked great for over 3years.

      Very easy to disconnect and blow it out if needed

    Dont do this bad idea

    • @Cody96
      @Cody96  2 роки тому

      Tell mw why ? Because all it really does is fill up over time and spill all over your motor doesn’t do a thing but get your motor nasty

      @@Cody96 Thats why they have this thing called preventative maintenance......Empty the catch can every so often. Not run it back to run out.......pointless

    • @Cody96
      @Cody96  2 роки тому

      @@JBrownw2121 regardless either one works fine and athe catch can is never that sealed no matter what it gets over your motor

      So no one can say why it’s a bad idea??? I understand you can empty it every now and then but why is doing the extension a bad idea?

    • @scottneisinger9661

      It’s going to cause excess crank case pressure, don’t know how much more but will most certainly create more blow by in the end?
