- After almost a year, I got my braces off!! I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone that has followed me on this journey, I can't believe that there is 30,000 of you it is so crazy, and I love every single one to the very bottom of my heart. I will be uploading part 2 of this video tomorrow so stay tuned for that!

Tips for braces:
- If you have questions, don’t be afraid to ask! I would have questions I wanted to ask, but would be too shy to do so. This would make me worry a lot, so ask as many questions as needed!
- Before you get braces off, look in the mirror at your teeth and pick out things you don’t like. That way, you can fix little details before you get them off. Having braces may be the only chance you get to make your teeth look perfect.
- If you have to wear a retainer, always remember to put it in at night. If you don’t, your teeth may shift back to the way they looked before braces.
- Don’t panic! Most parts of braces don’t hurt badly, it will just feel tight or uncomfortable. If it does hurt, tell your dentist or orthodontist so that it doesn’t hurt the next time you go.
- Colors (for rubber bands) to AVOID:
-Yellow (It makes your teeth look yellow too!)
- Light Purple (Also makes your teeth look yellow)
-Green (Makes it look like there’s something stuck in your teeth)
- White (This is a wierd color to mention, because some people like it, but for me my teeth look yellow again.)
-Colors to try!
- Bright red (Makes your teeth look bright and whiter)
- Bright orange (Makes your teeth look clean)
-Dark Purple (Makes your teeth look white)
Q and A...
- Are braces worth it?
- To me, they were. I had a severe over bite and a gap in between my two front teeth, and overall my braces also changed my top lip, so it isn’t just ring out like it was before braces. For other though, braces might not make a noticeable difference. This depends on how bad your teeth were before you get braces.
- What about brushing and flossing?
- When you get braces, it’s even more important to brush even better and longer than before, because there are many hard to reach places. This can cause food and plaque to get stuf in those places, and stain your teeth. To floss, you can’t floss normally, so my orthodontist gave me a special flossed. However, the little bristles started to come out in my mouth, and I would swallow them by accident, so I stopped using it.
- How do I help pain from braces?
- I would take ice and just put it in my mouth while I would do whatever. This would kind of “numb” my teeth and gums for a while. Another thing to do is to drink cold water. That doesn’t work for everyone though, because some people’s teeth are sensitive to cold and hot temperatures.

Ailbhe Gavin ooo that’s exciting, it’ll be a bit painful at first but I feel so much more confident with braces because it makes me think that I am going to end up with straight teeth and I will be happy with me smile. I had to get teeth removed before the treatment so I was really nervous about braces because I knew I had to get them because otherwise I would have a huge gap and my teeth at the front would rot. I like my braces though and I’m getting them tightened in November. Good luck! How long are you supposed to be having them on for?

I’m getting my braces off soon, so as a pretty much brace veteran, here is some tips for ya:
•Avoid certain colors like yellow and white (make our teeth look even more yellow)
•Instead of flossing the way they tell you, use a water flosser, makes it much easier
•ALWAYS brush your teeth before orthodontist appointments
•When you get them on, or after appointments, take some ibuprofen and eat cold and soft foods.
•Avoid green
•DONT PANIC! It doesn’t hurt too badly, it’s just kind of uncomfortable

Got my braces off. Then the dentist told me I needed all 4 wisdom teeth surgically removed, got that done too. The lengths we go to for a good smile. I've been through Hell and back these past few years.
It’s possible to remove all wisdom teeth while wearing braces (at least in most cases). I’m not saying your dentist did wrong, but I was really amazed it could be done all at once. I don’t want to know how much pain my brother had the day he got his impacted wisdom tooth removed… while wearing braces.
@@martar.8095 i can tell you from personal experience getting it removed with braces is probably one of the worst pains imaginable but totally worth it cause i did not want to take them out after i finish braces
Why didn't they have them removed before the braces went on? I had three removed before the braces. And one grew in decades later(I felt like a kid again, the dentist couldn't believe the tooth came in!
Some of you all are lucky getting your braces off in less than a year or so. My orthodontist hasn't even told me when I'm getting mine off.. but by the looks of it I'm saying about 2 more years for me. Going on about a year and a half for me now.
Just keep holding on, it’ll be over before you know it. I get mine off on the 17th of December after 6 years of having them on, and I find it crazy how I can’t even remember how it feels to not have braces. It may seem unfair that others only have theirs on for about a year and STILL complain about it, but trust me, your beautiful smile will be WORTH IT!!! ❤️

I took way longer than expected
It didn’t really hurt but it was uncomfortable when they twisted it tight
If they put blue stuff on then just be aware it’s really sour (that was a shock)
My teeth feel quite weak now and I don’t like brushing them or even licking my lips

My braces story:
I begin my life as a metalmouth in 1st grade when I had to get a wire retainer. I had a major underbite, two impacted canine teeth, several crooked teeth, and some major shark tooth syndrome.
There was actually no original plans for me to get braces, but 7 year old me found a way to screw that all up. One day I left my retainer at a sleepover, and by the time I got it back it didn’t fit my teeth anymore.
*slow clap*
After months of not wearing my retainer I got metal braces on 6 of my top teeth. As time went on I slowly started getting more and more brackets. By 4th grade, after getting two of my baby canines pulled when they wouldn’t fall out, all of my top teeth had brackets on them.
I actually got my brackets off towards the end of 4th grade, and I had officially completed my 1st round of braces. I wore a clear retainer on my top teeth for a couple months until towards the beginning of 5th grade when it was time to start my second round of braces.
I got both top and bottom braces that round, and went trough various different phases, including power chains, rubber bands, spring coils, etc... (power chains hurt like hell btw).
Now I’m in 8th grade and I’m officially getting my braces off on the 17th of December. I am SO EXCITED!!!! 9 MORE DAYS!!!!
I will be getting clear retainers for both my top and my bottom braces. However, if my teeth still shift I will have to get permanent retainers.
After 6 years of braces, (7 if you count the wire retainer) I AM FINALLY GETTING THEM OFF!!! I’m literally crying while typing this, I just can’t wait! ❤️

Ive gotten braces when i was 9-10 and then got them again when i was 12-now im hoping to get them off july 5th but i recently obliterated 2 brackets from chewing carmel lol. When i got them off last time i actually was underwhelmed because i thought my teeth looked huge and my smile looked big and unnatural. I actually ended uo crying bjt then now that i look back at the pictures j looked so good it was just my brain tricking me because i was used to having braces.

(edit) Just got my top braces on, it was painless and fast, and I do not have a lisp or pain as of now.
(Edit again) They hurt pretty bad the night of getting them on, the pain for the most part has subsided for now.

I'm getting my braces off tomorrow after 1.5 years! It may not seem that long compared to others, but I had to wear FOUR rubber bands 24/7 for a long time. I also had power chains and bite blocks (two pieces of glue on the roof of my mouth) that made me look like I had vampire fangs. It was extremely embarrassing and I was really self conscious about it, but it totally paid off because I have a perfect bite and I'm getting my braces off sooner than I would have if I didn't get the bite blocks.
Its absolutely crazy, I watched her videos before I got my braces and now that I have them for like 10 months and she helped me through the process (her old videos)and now she literally has the perfect smile

My last braces appointment is February 17th and then just a few weeks after that it will be the greatest day of my life I will finally have all my freedom back no restrictions no rules no special methods for cleaning none of that. completely free I will be 🤩
